👍 A cute little lunch spot on the 5th Ave stripe. The restaurant was pretty empty but understandable considering it was about 3pm on a weekday. We ordered two lunch specials - the kofte and the chicken shish. The pita came out first without the appetizers. We ordered the babaganush and spinach tarato... People often mention chicken,

A cute little lunch spot on the 5th Ave stripe. The restaurant was pretty empty but understandable considering it was about 3pm on a weekday. We ordered two lunch specials - the kofte and the chicken shish. The pita came out first without the appetizers. We ordered the babaganush and spinach tarator but we ate most of the pita without and had to ask for more. I guess it's standard? Anyway, the tarator was amazingly creamy and tart which I preferred over the babaganush. The entrees came out without waiting too long. Both were hot and just what we needed on a cold day. The kofte was good but a bit gamey. The chicken was delicious! Lots flavor and very moist! I highly recommend! The wait staff was minimal and a bit distant but it was nice. The restaurant was clean and well decorated. A nice experience overall.

I went yesterday and ordered two gyros. One lamb, one chicken. They had no lamb. The chicken was tough and dry parts cooked the others parts not cooked. The white rice was stuck together, the white sauce was runny, very watery. The food was stale heated up in a microwave. The salad was drenched in dressing soggy the bread was stuff. I will be calling for a refund. The chicken was not even cooked it was pulled apart

Great Turkish place with large portions of food (one order can easily feed two). Had leftovers for days. Had ample wait staff to take care of large party. It looks small but it's bigger than you think.

My go to Mediterranean spot in Park Slope. A big fan of their pides (recommend lamb version). The platters are also nice, with good quantity of food. Service is good - seated promptly and bread given at the beginning of meal.

Most of the food here is hearty. Tastes clean and nothing was overly sauced (maybe even not enough). The price you pay for the food is definitely not worth it. $18 for a wrap and fries from Jetro is a big mistake. I did like the seasoning on the fries though. Chicken kebabs for $23 were a bit disappointing. Sure you get some big chunks of chicken breast, but it’s dry. Bringing your leftovers home? Good luck heating it up without it turning it into a brick. Staff is friendly. Another table got oil for their bread but I didn’t. I guess I had to ask for it but I would’ve never known. Their brunch menu is something you’ll find in a cafe minus their avocado toast with gyro. They have some items on their brunch menu that are on the regular menu for the same price. Not sure what is really the point including it. Expect to pay $20-$35 per person for brunch.

Absolutely delicious food, graciously served. So many amazing choices. 6 of us had completely different dishes. Every one of them fabulous. I highly recommend you try it. Prices are not bad either.

One of my new favorite spots in Brooklyn. The Adana kebab was so so so delicious. Amazing portions. Kazandibi was the best I’ve had in NY & it was HUGE! The atmosphere is relaxing, quiet and calm. Great service. Very attentive!

In the heart of the city, there's a Turkish restaurant that stands out in its simplicity and the warmth of its people. It's a place where the food speaks of a rich history, a legacy of seafarers who, after months at sea, longed for hearty meals upon their return. Their cuisine evolved to be fulfilling, often rich in fats - a necessity for those harsh times. I encountered a Turkish lady there, a familiar face from another local establishment. Her presence adds an authentic touch to the place, reminding one of the genuine roots of the dishes served. Turkish cuisine, inherently rich, poses a challenge for eateries striving to adapt to healthier preferences. This restaurant, however, has nearly mastered this balance. While not entirely aligned with my palate, the food is compelling enough to keep me returning. So, in the spirit of earnest recommendation, yes, visit this Turkish spot. It's a place where simplicity and sincerity reign, offering flavors that echo a storied past, somewhat adjusted to fit our contemporary tastes.

I always look forward to TAVA. The food is always so good and the service. Yesterday we went, first time the mash potatoes was terrible. It had an after taste. I brought it to the attention of the hosts. She wasn’t helpful at all. Stating that it’s the same. My granddaughter agreed. I didn’t want to eat the rest. She ignored us for a while. The regular person was off yesterday and second time that this host is not very nice. I had to call her again after waiting some time and asked for the rice instead. Was turned off because I love TAVA. Hope when I return the mash potatoes will be better. Also gave us a small amount of stale hard bread and had to request for more fresh bread
