Cozy breakfast spot, good service !!! I had a double down waffle with ice cream and strawberries on top. I enjoyed coffee. I didn’t feel rushed to hurry and eat. Good place, will return!

I am HIGHLY dissatisfied with this SORRY excuse for Chicken & Waffles! I really wasted my money on this. Both the chicken and the waffles just taste like a clump of dough! This was my first and last time going here. If you wanna see a better example of Chicken & Waffles, check out my review for it at Park Wood Diner in Maplewood. Not a sponsor, but I had to order from there replace this trash!

Ordered the smoked salmon and shrimp Benedict as well as chocolate banana waffle. The service was very good as she accommodated me to pay early and order over half an hour before I wanted the food so it came out the perfect time. (My friend came late). The potatoes were a bit bland and too soft in my opinion and the benefit could have had the egg less cooked so the yolk could have blended better with the dish. I was a little disappointed from the Benedict’s however the dessert waffle definitely helped make up for it. The waffle was crispy and the chocolate and ice cream was so flavorful. Overall I would give this place another try and try some other menu items. Super convenient as this place was walking distance from where I was staying.

I’ve reviewed Grid Iron before but that was just based on their breakfast items. I stopped in last week for lunch and absolutely loved the “south of the border” sandwich! Service was also quick which I appreciate when I pop out of my home office for a quick bite. I look forward to many more lunch breaks at Grid Iron!

This was so nice , it’s like a little hole in the wall. I went in the morning after work and it was busy the sever was great and the food was delicious. I enjoyed my experience my only complaint was the waffle was a little too sweet but the eggs were heavenly im definitely going back with my family

This place is awesome! Came here for breakfast with my girlfriend it was a quiet rainy morning. We ordered coffee as our drink and I had two eggs any style with multigrain toast and it came with home fries. My girlfriend ordered a cinnamon waffle with a scoop of vanilla iced cream, banana, and strawberries on the side. Everything came out promptly and the food was great! We would come here again and try other items.

We were visitors from out of town and we stumbled into there on a guess and we hit the jack pot.The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the service was great.If we are ever in the area again we want hesitate to go back:)

The food was lovely! Service was great too, Angel was nice and accommodating. I recommend the basil, brie, and bacon! Complex flavors on a crisp, soft inside, warm brioche waffle. The texture is a little like a cheddar bay biscuit!

Wonderful breakfast, brunch, AND lunch place! Menu is huge with so many options, including gluten free waffles for about $2 more! They have specialty coffees like lattes and chais, but the food itself was great! All waffle dishes come with a side of either potatoes, grits, mixed greens, or fruit! Grits option gives you an ENTIRE bowl of grits and the potatoes were amazing! Definitely coming back here with family members and friends who enjoy some gourmet waffles and pancakes!

Have been wanting to come here for a while. I'm a big fan of brunch, as well as waffles and pancakes, and this is a breakfast/brunch location. Since we arrived about 1pm on a Saturday, there was already a list of people also looking for some grub. We noticed that there was a self serve list that you can out your name down on and the number in your party. We were informed that it would be about a 20-25 min wait. They do have a couch and some chairs to wait your turn, and the waitress acknowledged our presence. We didn't end up waiting the full 20 minutes, maybe 10 before they set up another table (pulled from the back room?) And we got to sit down. Their menu is extensive. Anything that you can think to do with waffles or pancakes is probably listed on it. We ended up getting the eggs Benedict and the Croak Madam. Both of those dishes were made with brioche waffles and both came with side orders which were plentiful!! Staff were super nice and attentive. Can't wait to go back and try the sweeter side of the menu

delicious breakfast

I ordered chicken and waffles to go and enjoy a Saturday breakfast in the comfort of my home. Not only did I find hair on my food but the food tasted terrible! The chicken was pretty much a low quality chicken nugget which tasted like they had been fried in old oil. And let’s not even describe the waffle. First time trying this place and I will never go back again. Don’t spend your money here!!!

The food here is great, but the service is absolutely horrendous. The staff is super rude and unwelcoming. Upon entering the restaurant, there is no one greeting customers or giving clear directions on the “sign-in” process. During my visit today, the sign-in sheet was so confusing, that I witnessed multiple customers walk out due to not understanding it. After realizing the wait, was longer than expected I even attempted to make a “to-go” order. This took another 10 minutes of waiting at the counter before being acknowledged by a rude waitress who expressed that the kitchen is backed up and the order wouldn’t be ready for an additional 40mins! As I stated previously, the food is great but this establishment will lose a lot of customers if the service remains this way. I definitely won’t be returning!

Do not order from here. Didn’t give us any syrup for our order of pancakes and waffles, coffee cup was filled half way, $4 bacon and was given 3 little strips. I cannot believe they would even try to be this cheap to customers. How embarrassing.

Had breakfast with my son for the first time at this place. We we were looking for the best waffles and found 'em! They had AC problems but took care of us quickly and the food was very good. Will be coming back. South Orange parking sucks but I will deal with that next time I stop by.

it is a horror to order from this place! I just ordered food from uber eats, the waffles are raw inside! the french toast has no flavor at all the chicken sandwich is with yesterday's chicken you can tell from the flavor of the saved chicken

This place is a must visit! The food is delicious and super affordable. We ordered a caramel latte and it arrived in a super big mug! I loved it. The area is really cool too.

I wanted to like this restaurant so bad but sadly I had a super poor experience and will not be returning and I do not recommend. The wait to order was excessively long considering the store was essentially empty when we were seated. The food took way way too long to come out and was freezing so we had to send it back and wait an additional 15 minutes for two eggs and microwaved sausage. To add insult to injury, I asked for a water and the entire cup of water was filled with what I assume to be mold. (Various large white particles floating in the water and cloudy pools sitting on top) I took pictures which I will not post but I was so disgusted I couldn’t finish the rest of my meal. Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. I hope they fix this issue soon so they don’t end up making someone sick!!!!

We love this place. They have an amazing breakfast selection. We love their waffles and pancakes. We go there pretty often with the kids and they love the food too. They have awesome service,super friendly and welcoming. Lovely and cosy atmosphere. I definitely recommend this place, a must visit.

The Liege and the Brussel waffles are good. The crepes are not good. Mine was bland and undercooked. Asked for another one. It was pretty much the same. Very different from those we have in France and Belgium. I highly recommend the waffles or the eggs.

Not super comfy chairs, but friendly service & food makes up for that. #BestWaffles in the area and excellent service from Angel. Every dish that came out of the kitchen looked so appetizing. Yum! If I could give this negative stars I would. Do not spend a dime of your money. They're over priced waffles that don't even taste good and here's the kicker ... you only get 1 piece of waffle. Came here recently and we ordered waffles, plus eggs and bacon and it ended up being over 40 dollars for some dried up waffles. They were really chewy and didn't not taste like typical waffles. They told us our food would be ready in 10 mins but it really took probably over 20 mins. But what was infuriating was that when our food was ready, the employee just handed over the bag and said here you go! And I proceeded to ask if we had everything in there like forks, knives, napkins and syrup. And that was when he decided to let me know that they ran out of forks but could offer us spoons. Really? he clearly was not going to say anything to us Bc he just handed the bag over. And had I not asked he would have never disclosed. You would think that if people are ordering take out during Covid that you'd provide your customers with utensils to eat rather than with our bare hands. So you just expect us to go to someone else's business and ask them if we can get utensils when we didn't even purchase their food? Extremely unprofessional and this place is way over rated. You get way better tasting food at a lower price at the diner across the street. Will never come back here.

I frequent this establishment because the food is good with reasonable pricing. But there is this one female server who just can’t get it right. We sat outside but had to go back in to get our own menus after reviewing the menus for about 15 minutes she still never came out to greet us offer us water or bring utensils. I had to go back in and ask the cook how to place my order due to server was no where to be seen. Her performance is always unprofessional, very nonchalant and uncaring, but she seems to be the only server they have there and she will be the reason I ultimately stop patronizing this establishment.

I ordered shrimp and grits.The grits are made with 3 cheeses which causes ALOT of oil. And i believe the lady told be the grits are pre preped.The oil messes up the original grits texture.I wasn't even able to eat half.So due to that I rate the shrimp n grits a 2.They do give plenty of grits and the shrimp(4) is big n juicy n taste good.
