Before
I
give
my
honest
review
I
want
to
let
you
know
this
review
will
show
biases.
Our
dining
experience
wasn't
completely
5
stars.
(more
like
4.5)
I'm
giving
them
5
stars
because
I
appreciate
their
hard
work
and
determination
to
keep
this
restaurant
afloat.
It
wasn't
easy
finding
a
soul
food
spot
that
looked
worthy
enough
to
dine
in.
I
needed
a
place
to
take
my
mother-in-law
for
her
birthday.
We're
not
from
NJ,
we
were
there
visiting.
Thanks
to
others'
ratings,
reviews
and
images,
I
knew
this
would
be
our
best
option.
Upon
walking
in,
my
family
and
I
were
greeted
by
Cornbread's
team.
That
felt
welcoming.
It
was
our
first
visit.
A
staff
member
explained
that
we
would
have
to
order
our
food
first
and
then
find
seats
in
the
dining
area.
(food
will
be
brought
to
us)
We
ordered
4
meals
plus
drinks
(non-alcoholic).
This
cost
$89.
My
son,
mother-in-law
and
I
enjoyed
our
dishes.
Unfortunately
my
wife's
tastes
buds
weren't
pleased.
Kim
ordered
the
Turkey
Wings,
Mac
&
Cheese,
and
Collard
Greens
(the
latter
of
which
they
forgot
to
deliver
to
the
table).
One
thing
I
respect
about
this
restaurant
is
the
fact
that
they're
willing
to
correct
their
mistakes.
They
offered
my
wife
another
side
dish
-
for
free.
My
mother-in-law
felt
the
sweet-tea
wasn't
as
sweet.
So
in
return
the
staff
offered
her
the
chance
to
taste
their
'Southern
Twang"
drink.
She
enjoyed
that
one.
As
for
my
son
and
I,
our
taste
buds
enjoyed
the
seasoning
on
the
fried
chicken
and
whiting
fish.
I'd
recommend
Cornbread
Maplewood
to
friends,
family
and
those
who
believe
in
supporting
black
owned
businesses.
