We decided to eat somewhere near the Barclay's Center before a show it this place had good reviews. The food and drinks were good. Location was crowded and they sat us at the basement where they have a setup. Overall service was fast and pleasant.

BK9 is a really great restaurant. I visited on a Friday evening at 6pm or so. We decided to go here right be4 the Ladies Night Barclay Center concert. It was packed. The upstairs section was full from wall to wall. It was out of control up there. When i walked in, i was worried i wouldnt feel comfortable or have space. However, they have a downstairs. Seems weird at first but its so spacious. The air was flowing and the music was on and playing all the classic 90's. If upstairs is too full i highly recommend going down stairs. Our waiter was a really young man. I could tell he was a teen or really early 20's. He was charming, tried his best, was very attentive and we loved him. The drink menu was labeled Ladies Night which i though was impressive and such a good business move. I do believe that the drinks could of used more variety of alcohol. Only one drink was made with tequila. The rest were mostly rum, literally 9 out of 14. My mom ordered a Margarita. I got a jack and cocacola. We ordered the mussels, jerk wings and fried snapper entree. The mussels were delicious and completely different then any i have tasted. They steamed the mussels in a curry sauce. It was spicy but not overly spicy. I really enjoyed it and it was served with toasted bread. The jerk wings were also really good. The color on them was perfect. They were juicy, spicy, flavorful and not too big. The snapper was okay. Out of everything we ordered, it was my least favorite meal. My husband is haitian and I'm use to eating djon djon rice and fish prepared this way. However, the rice needed more flavor and it was really dry. The fish itself was okay. It wasn't huge, perfect sizing. It was really filling as well. Overall i highly recommend it here. I can't wait to visit again. The food, service and vibes here are everything. Don't forget they have a downstairs section. If its too packed upstairs ask to be seated down stairs, you wont regret it.

First time here. The food was DELICIOUS! When you don't have to add, no salt, pepper, steak sauce, etc. to food, it's Good. It was seasoned just right, nice size portions, and it was very flavorful. I'm from the south and a caterer, so I know good fresh food when I taste it. Customer service was attentive, and the drinks were strong. The atmosphere was nice, and they played old school chill music that gave a good vibe. Also, black owned, which I love. When I come back to visit, I'll definitely stop by.

Food was outstanding, everything we had was delicious. My favorite was the catfish and grits, so tender & the creole sauce was amazing. Nothing was overly salty and well seasoned. The staff was really attentive, we came in for brunch and will return for sure. Loved the live music

The vibe: I chose this place, last night got together with my brothers and patronized this very cozy restaurant. We celebrated my husband’s bday. The hostess is completely beautiful-gave us a choice of seating inside or outside for our party of six- we chose outside- The waitress was slower than I would have liked but courteous. Food: The jerk wings- the plantains-the burger- spicy shrimp. My brother ordered a side of asparagus and had to take it back inside because the waitress just didn’t remember his request for salt/pepper because there was none at the table we were seated at. So Chef Brian (hope I’m spelt his name right)took care of it and came out and served it himself, which I felt was very attentive where customer service is key. The food was finger licking good- all of it! Let’s talk drinks Brooklyn LIT has a kick you have to sip-that rum punch hit the spot. Those 2 drink could be served in different sized glasses because at those prices come on $19 for a drink and the glass no bigger than a flute- waitress told me,”it has 6 shots”. My response was of what? I would definitely will patronize again just minus the alcoholic drinks. Overall great place to eat, socialize, and bring the family.

Went here with a coworker for their birthday quick bite. They enjoyed their oxtails. I had the escovich fish. It tasted nothing like how it usually taste. It was more savory with tomato sauce. The fish overall was good. But my black rice was hard and cold but the server was helpful and swap out for some fresh hot rice. Will try the place again.

I love BK9. I had the griot and black rice with green plantain. It tasted amazing. I also had the jerk chicken empanadas and some wings that were great as well. I love the music, the dj created a nice atmosphere. Service was great will definitely be back.

I had a great time here celebrating my aunt's graduation dinner. The ambiance was amazing, The music was a bit loud so it felt more like a club, but it was still good service nonetheless. The service was great as well - our waiter was attentive. Lastly, the food was amazing. I had salad, wings, and the jerk chicken dinner. I will definitely come back here again.

It took really long to get in and the table was very small for 3 people, I didn’t like that. The food was okay, but it took an hour long to get our food. The macaroni was loose and could’ve been cooked longer. The fish I had was good though.

I decided to give this place a try after my friend hyped this place up a few times. We’ve known him to have a questionable food palette, and needless to say this will be the final time I take any of his recommendations. I ordered Jerk Chicken, and instead received Jerk Pork. I do not eat pork. The food is way overpriced and you don’t even get the right meat, the worst money I’ve ever spent. Avoid at all costs. I have learned my lesson and will no longer take my friend’s recommendations.

Brunch was amazing! Great shrimp and grits and a good price on a carafe of pineapple mimosas. Josie was an amazing waitress :)

Waitress was also hostess. We were there during a sorority party and it was so fun. They still accommodate a party of 10, for us amazing.

It started out a little rocky but turned out very nice. The food was good and so was the drinks. We tried the mussels in a coconut sauce, French fries, and the codfish with cassava with aoili sauce as the appetizers. Then we had oxtail, the fried fish with creole sauce, oh the calalloo and mash potatoes were so good. So definitely give them a try.

Ehh I came here with my husband on a rainy Tuesday and it was just alright. Nothing special at all. We had jerk wings and honey wings. They look the exact same but the jerk wings just had a kick to it. It’s a pretty small spot, The bathrooms need a makeover. The walk over to the bathrooms is VERY slippery because of the grease and oil splattering when cooking and frying. So ladies beware. The bar was packed seating wise. My drink was very bitter… too much lime juice it was the first drink on the cocktail menu. The booth that we were sitting in needed a refresher as I felt like I was sitting on a slope. Lol but the music was good.

Unfortunately things happen by nature that can jeopardize the reputation of a business and in those situations that’s when i watch closely. I’m giving them a good review based on the service and food. From the beginning to the end the waitress and host did a great job. The accommodations were not needed or expected but they did it anyways to satisfy my experience and that is how you keep a customer satisfied and coming back. Very rare Gem in NYC so keep up the Good Service

My first time here and the ambiance service and food were delicious. I was with a party of 9 celebrating my friends nuptials. The drinks were delicious the Bajan rum punch was on point....the appetizer of jerk wings and muscles with toast was soooo good. For entrees we ordered the griot, oxtails and red snapper. I had the snapper which was so flavorful and the sauce so yummy the veggies were crisp not over cooked and the rice was just right. My friends said the oxtail and griot were also delicious and flavorful. Portion sizes were good and the price point for appetizers drinks and entrees were very very good. This place was a vibe will return very soon.

Comfortable place, nice artwork. Cocktails on the strong side, and very good. Jerk wings well done with right amount of spice, tingly, not hot. Creamy cilantro aioli nice compliment. Service from Joel outstanding. When kitchen delay, brought round of drinks on house. Pork griot was boneless chunks, very good. Didi John John (black rice) delicious, crispy plantain, piklin (type of slaw) spicy. Too full for dessert.

Came here for brunch Sunday. Overall did not have a good experience. I will day there was 7 of us so maybe that impacted things but the restaurant was completely empty so not sure how it would impact. The service was extremely slow and not attentive. The food took forever to come out. When we got our main dishes they were cold. We're they just sitting in the back? I couldn't even eat it so I ended up just tossing mine. Everyone else had similar experiences where their food was cold. I got the chicken and waffles which came with side of home fries. Some others got the same and some got the oxtail hash which they said the oxtail hash had a bit more flavor. They did have a live band which was nice

The atmosphere was the best part about the place we got a placed in the back in the new dining room. The food wasn’t the best it was a bit salty. The pumpkin soup was a bit sugary. The drinks had too much ice. I must say that the appetizers were the best part of the meal the jerk and barbecue chicken wings were very good.

Went there on a Thursday evening before a concert at the Barclays. Ambiance is great. They have music playing while you dine which was cool for us. We both had the snapper which was seasoned perfectly and delicious. It comes with Haitian rice and salad, both delicious. The jerk wings were bomb! We shared a side of Mac n cheese which I highly recommend! Didn't have any issues with service Give it a try!

I've been here a couple times. Really nice ambiance, good location, good food and good drinks. It was a nice setting to catch up with a friend over conversation. I'm not sure tge experience is fully worth the cost but I still recommend because it's not unreasonable.

Food was great, music and atmosphere was great too but the delay to be seated, the food, and the bill was poor urgency..In addition we didn't get utensils promptly when seated... Constant searching for the waiter, although he was pleasant I don't think they were prepared with staff coverage and large parties for today's father's day occasion. I will come back thou. Drinks was good food was great

I would like to say maybe because it’s late (9:48pm) that my food was not worth its money. I have eaten here before but earlier in the day like two 3 o’clock a few times and the food was amazing. The atmosphere is always live a comfortable like family.. but tonight the pot was burnt & the spoon was dropped‼️ I had the grilled salmon I’m guessing this is cream spinach and I don’t know if this is rice or quinoa 😕 it’s a lump of I don’t know what it is. It’s very mushy the mac & cheese, it was OK but she’s got a 3 😑 BUD this right here was unacceptable for the price of it. I am in this industry & would not be happy serving this to anyone‼️ I’m very saddened because I really wanted this food. I thought about it all day until I came home from work. Got comfortable got excited it happens. Let’s do better still show my love, but in the daytime when the food is fresh.😘

My best friend came into town from GA and we both decided on Jamaican food for dinner. After realizing Negril was closed we looked up restaurants and stumbled upon this one. We ordered jerk wings as an appetizer to share and they were served with a green sauce and it was delicious. I ordered the Jerk chicken meal, unfortunately, the Jerk Chicken in the meal was disappointing. I was mortified that I was served uncooked chicken. The chicken was still bleeding, I was flabbergasted. However, I was not charged for that meal (uncooked jerk chicken meal). Honestly I thought they would have given us the entire order (jerk wings, salad and fried fish meal) for free. If that was offered as an option, I would have returned back . The waiter did ask if I wanted another meal free of charge and I politely declined because I was so taken aback by the uncooked chicken.
