We didn't know that this beautiful and traditional Catholic Church existed in the midst of the busy city. Walked in to a Latin mass, just solemn. Confession and exposition of Blessed Sacrament were present. It was really hot inside the church, but it isn't about being comfortable while Christ is giving an ultimate sacrifice. Definitely a very traditional church, praying all churches are like it.

Modified.- Enjoying our stay in the Big Apple a few years ago, we took the opportunity to wander around and enjoy it, in this case walking along Broadway Street at the intersection of W37th St., we found this Roman Catholic parish church, it called us His attention was drawn to the façade and we went in to visit it, to learn a little more about it. It is one of the few churches that still offers a daily mass in Latin. It is neo-Gothic in style, with good combinations of murals and stained glass. We took photos so we could see them later. The most striking thing is the large painting behind the altar. We took photos as usual.

This is one of the few Roman Catholic Churches in NYC that still does a DAILY Latin Mass. I've posted a photo if their Mass schedule here. Enjoy the photos as well.

A beautiful parish tucked into a busy street. So easy to pray here and be surrounded by holy people and Saintly Statuary. The Roman Catholic Shrine & Parish Church of The Holy Innocents is located in the Fashion Center, mid-town Manhattan. Founded in 1866, the mission of the church is to be a spiritual oasis in one of busiest business districts in the world - Times/Herald Square. The celebration of four daily Masses, including one daily Mass in the Tridentine Latin Rite, confession, and public devotions, enable visitors time for personal and communal prayer. Fr. James L. P. Miara is the Pastor of Holy Innocents.

I used to like coming here a few years ago but the people they have working as staff have always been uptight and rude. I happen to walk in for a quick prayer after 5pm Saturday. Mind you I didn’t see any opening/closing times posted other than Mass times. The man tells me “I’m closing, you need to go” in the most uncharitable and borderline angry tone as if I were doing it as a prank or on purpose. I have received much nicer attitudes from people working in stores when accidentally walking in about closing time. The good thing is there are other parishes in the area where staff is kinder and aware they’re located in the center of Midtown Manhattan. Not returning to this church again.

This was my Church when I lived in NYC a few years ago. I love it!! Beautiful Latin Masses every day- treat yourself if you haven’t experienced the “Mass of Ages” especially if you normally attend the ordinary rite. Excellent, intellectually engaging homilies from Father Miara!

Hands down one of the best parishes in Manhattan. The pastor is fabulous, and every mass, TLM or new order, is reverent. They do many devotions too!

The whole experience was transforming. The church is beautiful. Although I do not understand Latin, however, the presence of the Lord was felt. The act of going up for communion and kneeling and waiting to receive while looking up at the mural by the altar was elevating, transforming, and spiritually fulfilling. Attended adoration and prayers to the Holy Face of Jesus after mass, and understanding the language and participating sealed the day.

The Church is very beautiful, the prayers there are great but as a devoted Catholic , I am extremely disappointed in the way the 2 sacristans/helpers of the 1st Friday mass behave towards black people! Yes I said it: they are racists toward black in the way they look and talk to you!!! Especially the one with grey hair and glasses who acts has if he owns the place and knows people relationship with God!!! He is racist, rude and disrespectful while addressing a black person!! As a local guide I am very unhappy to put this kind of review but one has to speak the truth. The other one who is Spanish too with long black hair acts as if he is there to conciliate but at the end he is a passive disrespectful person. I saw non-black having some kind of behavior and none of them said anything about it but once a black person does it, he will humiliate them by the way he approaches and addresses them in front of every body. Those are the kind of people making other go away from our Catholic Church which is a shame. Serving the Lord doesn't give you any right in judging the way others worship. I wish I could meet the pastor so he would train them on being better church helper instead of what they do. May God be with them.

Decades ago, I worked in the garment industry. Monday to Friday lunch I would go to this church. I did my First Nine Fridays for nine months. Devotion of Reparation to The Sacred Heart of our Lord. A Monsignor blessed my Blessed Mother's Miraculous Medal which is around my neck. When he retired, I sent a card to him, and he wrote back. I have it in my memory box. Years later I did the Blessed Mother. First Saturday for five months.

Sunday 9am Latin Mass was reasonably well-attended with good representation of somewhat younger people. Priest did not seem to have a microphone always while at the altar but the congregation stayed patient and reverent. There's a good amount of artwork in the Church building.

Holy Innocents is one of the most important churches I have ever visited. It is where I attended my first High Mass in the Extraordinary Form, along with my dear, late friend Matthew Pecorino. It was on the Assumption, which is my favourite feast (owing to my devotion to Our Lady from growing up in a Marian parish). Matt was a full head shorter than I, and I remember how he tried to hold up his Missal so I could follow along during the chants, but as I had four years' experience of Gregoian chant from high school, I kept staring straight ahead as we went! Additionally, I have dedicated my life to the protection of the unborn — and their mothers — and so the Holy Innocents themselves are also dear to my heart. This parish is very, very special, as well as conveniently located in the heart of Midtown. Even if you are not Catholic, or you are Catholic but prefer to worship in the vernacular (and I typically do), treat yourself to a Traditional Latin Mass here at least once. It's the only church in town where you can do so every day of the week! Holy Innocents, martyrs in deed but not will, ora pro nobis.

Beautiful church and mass. If you go after the 730am daily mass you'll be able to sit with the Blessed Sacrament during holy hour.

Beautiful and very important Catholic Church in the heart of Midtown Manhattan! It is the heart of Midtown! A one if a kind refuge of prayer and liturgy worship, where one can go and find the love and word of God! Thank you!

When I walked into this Church, the beauty, awe and splendor of God struck my soul! The image above the high altar is stunning! The artwork in this Church provides many avenues of meditation and prayer. This truly is a hidden oasis of grace, peace, and beauty amidst the crazy world—especially that of NYC. God bless this Church, it touched my heart so much!

I have always loved this place of worship; even when I didn't want to live,it gave me that little hope . Today being a healthier man - physically, psychologically, still searching for calm emotions, the world has gotten so Ugly so ugly, you can enter any place with $3000 & live any fantasy, but the LORD isn't into fantasies, so no $$ lots of money this is the place to go to find that peace and tranquility, however like myself for sinning the night before,I assumed all would be well - I'd die, but , no doesn't play games either ,so go when you want to be around good people with positive thoughts, because since COVID-19 there is no place to go - N.A. A.A. it's like the world is closed. Only the flesh working together or locking yourself inside your home for the past 2 years as I did finding that even disabled there's no help for me, only a corner if I can find 1, it till then God's place of Worship is never a let down.🌈🍏

There was a man who assaulted the Queen Mother of the Americas in your church today. This person verbally attack her while she was praying, saying that she wasn’t welcome because were gay! In her defense some other parishioners came to her aid, to comfort and support her and her friends. I hope there are cameras and someway we can let NYPD attend to this. Many blessings on the heads of those who were there to support her and help in the time of this horrible attack on an elderly person of great importance for the LGBT+ community!

Really amazing liturgy. Very traditional and reverent. And there’s coffee hour after the Sunday 10:30 Mass, so a great place to meet people both young and old.
