Easily One of the nicest hikes I've done in the adk to date. I was so obsessed with high peaks I never realized how gorgeous trails like this can be. Not too much traffic or bugs. It's not a hard hike but a slow and steady climb of switch backs. Once you get to the Ridgeline though...wow! Views go on for days and you can summit about 4 different peaks. The actual Jay summit is the last peak off to the right! This is a must hike if you're in the Adirondacks! Pretty much anyone in shape can do it, no crazy scrambles so its a good hike for kids and the elderly. I didn't use polls but I would bring them just incase. It's a lot of walking, I clocked about 36,000 steps. Enjoy!

Wow, oh wow! One of the best places in the northeast! This wilderness area covers all kinds of landscapes, from open, grassy forests, to dark pine groves, and of course, expansive ledges with 360-degree views over Lake Champlain and the surrounding peaks. Jay Mountain is certainly one of the best! If you're committed, make sure you follow the trail to it's end.

Absolutely gorgeous view from the top! Beautiful day hike for either just the first top or doing the full range. In my experience, doing just the first mountain top from base to top and back is around 5 hours for intermediate level hikers. It's gorgeous 😍 I hope you enjoy!

Challenging hike about 5-6 hours, definitely wear boots on the trail especially after a rain day, there were areas that were super muddy.

Fun hike to Jay Mountain! Trails are clearly marked, and the views are beautiful. Passed only six other friendly hikers, so it was a quiet day on the mountain. Lovely!
