The food and service was good, but for the prices they shouldn't have been great... I spent over 100$ and didn't quite enjoy the food very much or awkward service provided. I came here for a nice sit down experience and had fun because of the company I was with not the restaurant. If I would have paid half the price, then I would have enjoyed it a little better.

After a Saturday evening movie we were scheduled to drive to a Turf Valley restaurant for dinner but the fog was too thick. We called Catonsville Gourmet after reviewing their menu and was advised that there was no wait time. The hostess was pleasant and our waiter Ross was great. I recommend the Baltimore Crispy Shrimp bits( tails off) & the calamari. The Fish & Chips & creme brulee were just okay. 4 stars for atmosphere only because we were seated too close to the restroom for my liking. I definitely will be eating there again in order to try out more of their menu items.

Fantastic restaurant in Catonsville Maryland. Focus on seafood. Great small plates to share as well as full entrees. The prosciutto wrapped scallops and old bay shrimp were outstanding. Wide selection of oysters available. Good beer and wine list. And fantastic desserts. The raspberry amaretto cake was great. Staff is super friendly. Only challenge is parking at times. Highly recommended.

First time dining At Catonsville Gourmet, but not the last! There’s plenty of parking behind the restaurant, the staff were welcoming and friendly, and the atmosphere was casual and relaxed. I ordered the shrimp and grits, it was a small dish and at first glance I thought it was too small, but wow was it delicious! Portion was just enough honestly, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. It’s a must try, you won’t be disappointed! My husband had the fried green tomatoes and enjoyed those as well.

OK. Had high hopes based on the reviews. Ordered the green Fried tomatoes, breading was crisp, however tomatoes were too wet for the breading to stay on. Once you gather all the components of the dish on your fork, the flavor is good. Calamari seemed fresh and the texture was good as well, but they were a bit on the under fried side. Fried oysters were delish! Very clean and fresh tasting. For main dishes ordered the Carolina trout. The fish itself was good, gnocchi was a bit flavorless and served directly under the fish, leaving the gnocchi with an oily fishy flavor. Would do more justice to plate it on the side. The double crab cakes were just alright as well. A tad too much shell for my liking and the center is soft. Small hash style potatoes left me searching for salt and pepper. Bread is very good, light and crispy. Overall it's OK. Restaurant is clean. Staff is friendly and efficient.

New year eve, more people dining in, a bit of noisy! Food are great. Love the shrimp pasta with crabs meat, testy but the pasta is soft! The crabs cakes come with beans that a bit of chewy. Love the bread and the salad .

I came to Catonsville Gourmet for the first time for Nye as my best friend was visiting from New Jersey. I was able to get a table quickly and everything just got better from there. The food is top - notch & the prices are fair & worth it. I just went for the second time bringing along my boyfriend this time, and he was pretty impressed! The food was amazing yet again. Everything from the salads, (Cesar & house) to the soups, (Maryland crab & french onion) apps (wings omg yes!) & main (Nantucket & filet mignon) were delicious! You can tell the ingredients are super fresh. The staff was lovely as well. They had special valentine drinks that were so cute and delicious. I'm just so happy I finally tried this spot! My only minor complaint would be that it seems like they don't season the side dishes. The first time I got green beans and this time I got the vegetable medley which were carrots & asparagus. Both were still good (prefer the veg medley) but some salt and pepper can go a long way!! I still would absolutely recommend & can't wait to come back !!

Amazing food every time! I love that if I don’t like how a suggested plate is made I have the option to order my fish made my way with sauce of my choice! Attentive Staff, unique cocktails made well! Smaller restaurant so We usually call for table.

From start to finish it was amazing. I went to Stanford grill on Monday and Catonsville Gourmet definitely had better food and was a better experience. Best food we've had since moving to Maryland. Down home feel with out of this world seafood. We got Steaks, lobster, Fried oysters, Calamari, Sushi, fish tacos and all were on point and delicious. Service was excellent even during dinner rush. Kuddos to the chef and staff!!!

I am not usually a fish person and my partner and I almost left. This place converted me! Drinks: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Manager even came over to check on us. Thay soft touch goes a long way. Highly recommend.

Absolutely exquisite! First time here & we'll definitely be back. The wait staff was highly attentive and the food & drinks were delicious. Christian was our waiter & he was very helpful with their extensive menu, as was the lady head waiter (didn't get her name). The menu has a very extensive selection of seafood as well as steaks. The entrees have many dishes that are well defined+ you can pick from much if the seafood, select how you want it cooked, & pick your sauce and sides - so there's plenty to pick from. Pictured are the Fried Green Tomatoes Chesapeake for appetizer (plenty of crab), Halibut with a tropical chili sauce, the BigTuna also very tropical with shrimp, and a custom Mango Martini they made by pureeing the mango (which was very nice since they didn't already have any). We had Lemon Coconut Smith Island cake for dessert, not pictured. Overall, we loved the experience, it was for our anniversary and we'll be back. They do have much more moderately priced sandwiches for lunch and dinner that we'll be trying. Leaving this with, during the pandemic a few of our favorite drink and meal spots closed, Catonsville Gourmet will now be moving into one of those slots!

Fresh and full of seafood options, sad I haven’t been sooner! Quick service and very pleasant experience. The restaurant is busy so I’d suggest calling ahead 30 min prior to arrival. Clean, small restaurant but substantial seating! Ample parking around the back in an off street lot. Bacon wrapped scallops, half and half soup, baby spinach salad with salmon. The salmon was blackened and perfectly cooked.

While I live near Old Ellicott City I had not really explored Catonsville much over the years. A friend and I went to dinner last night and she suggested the Catonsville Gourmet Cafe. Boy, did she hit the nail on the head. This is a very cozy yet spacious restaurant with excellent service, an incredible menu, wonderful desserts, and a nice atmosphere. There is a wide variety of seafood dishes, an oyster bar, and enough non seafood meat dishes to meet everyone's 'wants' . We had fried green tomatoes with crab meat on top as an appetizer and it was delicious and large enough that we did not order a salad to go with our Seafood entree. Our wait staff was perfect in terms of attendance yet not overbearing. She was affable but polite; funny but dedicated to the job. I was very impressed, highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going back.

I’m not a huge fan of seafood which is why I was hesitant to try this place but they do have several other options available. I got a soup and sandwich. I did find it a little pricey for what we ordered but we enjoyed the food and the service.

First time here. AMAZING dinner. Sea bass was fabulous! The Maryland Crab Cakes were top notch! The Crab & Lobster cheese dip was the best we’ve ever had!! The New Orleans Shrimp over grits was A+++. 5 stars for sure!! We will be back again very soon!!

The crab cake was VERY good. The green beans were excellent, BUT the fingerling potatoes were not cooked very well. They were burnt on the outside but still somewhat raw on the inside. I will be back to try other dishes. Try the crab cake dinner but be aware of the potatoes. The Alnd Raspberry cake was AMAZING! It was a large slice so I ended up taking 1/2 of it home.

Great Happy Hour! A dollar each for local oysters on the half shell! Great value! Also drink specials with NatiBo beer, apple cider, margaritas, sushi, and more! Beautiful interior with blue lighting over the bar, white lights strung on the wall, glass counter with fresh seafood on display, and great set up for food to go orders. Pro tip: large, safe, free parking lot behind restaurant and easy access to back door entrance to restaurant. There is Happy Hour every day, times vary.

Absolutely loved this place. It was my first time coming to eat here and the food and service were spectacular. Very attentive servers and a good atmosphere all around. The burger I got was very rich and juicy, and although you have to pay for fries on the side, they definitely give you more than enough. Some of the items seem a bit pricey, but if the quality’s consistent, then it’s definitely worth it. Will be coming back here again.

Highly recommend this place if you want seafood. They do have daily specials too! We've been there only for dinner. Everything is delicious. Suggest early plans because after 6:00 it does get busy especially on weekends. The desserts are big portions. Love the Smith Island cake!

I would prefer to give minus five star in service. We came all the way to celebrate my wife birthday dinner but the server mixed up our order and ruined everything. No one even care when we told them that we got the wrong order. It’s better to go somewhere else if you don’t want to get upset with their service.

What did I have? Spicy Seafood Gumbo Maryland One Crab Cake Dinner Chocolate topped cheesecake (it has Berger cookie chocolate - WOO!) Pineapple Spicy Margarita Catonsville Crush I had no complaints about any of the items I tasted. The spicy stuff had just enough kick for most I'm sure. Personally I could have taken more heat but for some, that would stop them from tasting the flavors. Our server Nick recommended the French Quarters Shrimp. My wife told him that was a great call! FYI, I'd suggest a reservation as the place isn't large. As a party of two, we did a walk-in with no wait. We'll be back for sure!

In the area for an overnight trip and decided crab cakes was a must. Searched for highest rated dine in crab cake restaurant and that landed us at Catonsville Gourmet. We were greeted by Christina whom we later learned is the owner, and what a wonderful vibe she’s created in this cozy seafood restaurant. Our server Maddie was also nice and very attentive. She gave great suggestions and made us feel very much at home. My sweetie kept nodding his head and saying, “This is dope.” From the food to the staff to the service and atmosphere, this place is, in a word, amazing. It was our first time but it damn sure won’t be our last. Do yourselves a favor and treat yourself to the Catonsville Gourmet experience!!

Great experience. We had the scallops/bacon app, Chilean Sea Bass and Trout dishes, all very flavorful and beautifully presented. Also enjoyed their passion fruit mule. Michel was a great server. Left my reading glasses and Cristina saved them for me with a note. Great food, ambiance and customer experience... def coming back. Thank you!!!

The drinks and raw bar get five stars. The BLAND over breaded fried green tomatoes and fried oysters get 2 1/2 stars!! Everything thing looks so pretty and your hopes are up... just to be dashed! Such a shame...
