My daughter loves to come here for her BJJ classes! Miss. Kim, Mr. Darnell, Mr. T, Junior, & the rest of the staff, they’re just amazing! Especially with the kids! Since day 1 they made my daughter feel comfortable and she decided right away that this was a place she wanted to go to! I couldn’t be more grateful to have come across Baltimore Martial Arts Academy!

My children have been a part of the Baltimore Marital Arts family since July 2022. This is our first martial arts experience ever and I do not regret the decision to stand with Baltimore Martial Arts Academy. *Update on March 21st, 2023: My son is now enrolled in Brazilian Jujitsu. He loves this as well as I believe he takes to this better. All of time instructor's are great with kids (and adults from what I see), and the first instructor that I met, Junior, is excellent. He pushes my son to reach new heights. He's firm but fair and is really passionate about teaching and the students' learning. Overall, great school!* My son loves it! I can actually see his self-confidence growing in him, and I anticipate it to continue as he learns more. The teachers are all great and personable and approachable to both students and parents alike. Great school, and I highly recommend it.

My 8 years old son started going to BMA after a previous unpleasant experience with training in martial arts. He is a little shy, but was willing to give it a try, after a friend recommended this place. He loves it!! He has been taking classes in kung fu with Gary and Tariq, both wonderful with kids: very patient, encouraging, helping the kids very gently, without pressure or criticism. I read an older review saying that the instructors don't care..I am not sure why someone would say this. I had not one single time had the impression that they don't care about the kids. Gary tells them very motivating life stories, my son loves them. At the end of his last session with Tariq, my son spent some time practicing by himself. Tariq was already dressed and ready to leave, however he saw my son struggling and started again practicing with him, just one on one. Thank you Gary and Tariq and the whole team!

Wow I am amazed at how much they care here about kids and families. I am so frustrated with my son's behavior and the care that went into my son today was a breath of fresh air. My son loved the class so much he didn't want to leave. He had to follow directions and participate in age appropriate activities which was great.

I started looking for a Martial Arts program for my 6 year old Josiah due to his ADHD. Lack of attention, discipline, and hyperactivity started to become a problem in school. I figured this would be the perfect alternative to medication. I didn’t know how the first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class was going to go due to the concern of patience from the instructors with my son. I was easily relieved and pleased with all the staff from the time I walked in the door, to practice on the mat, and upon leaving. Josiah has learned so much in the past year of training. His behavior at school has improved due to consistency. I look forward to the future we have at Baltimore Martial Arts Academy.

Amazing martial arts gym. They offer a variety of classes for adults and kids. The instructors and students are very friendly and kind. These folks are seriously some of the coolest people I’ve met. The classes are great because even though it’s in a group setting, instructors will come around to work with you individually and correct your mistakes. If you ask, they are more than happy to provide more instruction and clarification before, during, and after class. Seriously give it a shot at least!

My son Zachary loves the Kung fu classes, he is so confident and excited every day to be a part of the team. I love that they teach the children to be strong, confident and patience. Respect is a big deal in my family and I see it in all kids who attend with my son. Thank you for all that you've done for my son.

Not just BJJ more like family. The classes are the best I have ever seen and all the trainer's are amazing. My oldest practiced Martial Arts and I can say I wish that this class was an option at the time. Not only do they teach Martial Arts they also teach respect, Dissaplen,self confidence all while having fun. When it can't get any better.... It does. They have a parents night out for all siblings so even if they don't take classes they are welcome. I have to worn you.... When you go to pick them back up your kids will not want to leave... Couldn't be happier to find such an amazing class with so many well trained Teachers who take the time with each child to make sure they are learning.As many classes that I took as a child and attended with my kids this class is a legit self defense class. I highly recommend it to everyone I know with kids. Bullying in school is at an all time high. Give your kids confidence in defending there right to just go to school and get an education without being afraid. A+++ Competition is this weekend. Can't wait.

We had a fantastic birthday party for our six-year-old daughter at Baltimore Martial Arts Academy. The staff was responsive, accommodating, and laid-back. They made it easy for all the kids and parents to have a great time. The place is clean with plenty of space for energetic kids to run around. We highly recommend BMAA for a child's birthday party.

I have nothing but good things to say about this school. I brought my son here for Brazilian Ju Jitsu class and it has been a great thing for him. The fun, fitness, and discipline is apparent in every class. He has excelled with this style of martial arts. The teachers are attentive, professional and knowledgeable. I recommend this to anyone looking for a martial arts school in the area.

I love how Baltimore Martial Arts Academy has my son improve his focus and skill. His sensei gave him praise for improving his focus. He has gained a lot of confidence.

This academy is wonderful! Their staff and instructors are friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. My children have been attending twice weekly for over a year and I call see the difference in their self confidence and understanding of the importance of hard-work but on and off the mat. The monthly membership is well priced. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to learn martial arts for their children or themselves.

My children have been studying here for half a year. I have signed up for two programs, one is Brazilian jiu-jitsu and the other is martial arts. They like to come every day. The teacher is very patient and friendly. The children make rapid progress. Good places to recommend.

Amazing experience! Been there a month with my twin boys and I can say the people A+...the instructors A+...my boys are always reluctant to go I think because it's right after school but after every class..every single one...they say how much they love it and wanna do it more...it's a great sport to get started on...so glad we found this place especially with how my boys are...they are shy timid and not very social..so welcoming everyone is!

My son started in October and it was one of the best decisions we made for him! Being in the class has taught him great skills that we can use in our home setting. The teachers really care and they form great bonds with all of the students. My son loves it and we have so much growth in 7 short months.

I like Baltimore Martial arts academy because I love to compete and fight with others. The lessons I get taught at BMA showed me things I never knew I could do. The tournaments that I compete in are always full of surprises and I use everything that I learned in class to win the fight. My instructor Junior always makes sure that I am getting the move right so i don't mess it up in a fight, he also guides me step by step whenever I am in an outside tournament. I like BMA and I don't plan on leaving any time soon.

My son has been in the kids Brazilian Jujitsu class for a few months, and I'm already seeing BIG changes his character. Focusing and confidence were not my sons strengths, but The Baltimore Martial Arts Academy staff has found the balance of patience and modest discipline while working with the kids to promote empowerment. My son can't wait for his next class and loves practicing at home. Outside of class, the academy offers additional events and seminars which have helped him grow skills and make new friends. My once shy and inattentive child is growing into a young leader thanks to Baltimore Martial Arts Academy!

My daughter has been going for a year now. I'm loving the discipline in class as well as outside of the class. They speak to the children about their behavior in school and interacting with others. It's also affordable for single parents.(Which makes it even better) It's also building her confidence.

My daughter has gained an abundance of confidence since joining the program.. She enjoys coming and is growing in the program.. I’ve seen improvement in her discipline at home. She is more aware of her strengths and weaknesses. I recommend the program.
