Great
until
you're
experiencing
financial
hardship.
I
called
for
an
emergency
and
was
told
I
couldn't
be
seen
unless
I
paid
a
past
due
balance
for
"missed
appointments"
from
2
years
ago
(which
I'm
SURE
I
called
to
cancel).
They
do
not
accept
Badgercare,
and
after
explaining
that
no,
I
literally
can't
pay
the
balance
because
I'm
experiencing
financial
hardship,
the
response
was
"well
I
don't
know
what
to
tell
you
-
you're
telling
me
you
cant
pay
the
past
due
and
you
want
to
come
in
and
get
work
done
that
you're
saying
you
can't
pay
for..."
I
understand
it
must
be
difficult
for
providers
to
work
with
the
state.
I
understand
that
under
our
current
system,
I'm
not
entitled
to
anything
and
that
dental
care
is
basically
a
luxury.
But
it
would
have
been
great
if
there
were
more
compassion
and
less
shaming.
I
didn't
call
for
something
cosmetic,
or
even
something
routine,
I
called
for
an
emergency
with
significant
pain.
It
really
made
it
seem
that
patients
are
nothing
but
dollar
signs
to
you.
Which,
if
that's
the
clientele
you'd
rather
serve,
then
that's
your
prerogative.
But
it's
very
disappointing
and
sad,
and
makes
me
wonder
how
many
less
fortunate
patients
you've
turned
away.
At
least
consider
partnering
with
an
affordable
clinic
you
can
refer
the
peasants
to.
