Great walking trail that goes along the river m. Some bikes, some dogs and not too busy. I have seen deer here ever time I have visited.

Love walking through the trails here when the weather is dry. The trail is kind of narrow at some points, but it isn’t too difficult to make space for someone else if you’re paying attention. There aren’t many people on the trail so it isn’t a congested walk, but you will come across people on bikes, people with dogs, & families walking the trail. There's more than enough parking on site. Because there are picnic tables nearby there's usually people around celebrating, but space is never limited. The space is big enough for everyone to have their own little spot of serenity. I prefer to walk the trail in the summertime when the greenery is dense and you can hear all the birds, but I enjoy the trail year-round as long as it's dry. If it rains the day before or it's been rainy lately, I wouldn't recommend stopping by because the trails usually flooded in a lot of parts and gets slippery.

I love coming here, never seen it really crowded. Awesome place for a quick hike with the dogs or alone. Lots of space for picnics and peaceful trails. Can be muddy in early spring and after heavy rain, although it's lovely to visit any time of year. Just be careful with parking because if you're still out hiking after sunset they will ticket your car. Even if it isn't completely dark, so pay attention to sunset times! That's my only complaint 😣

A Tranquil Escape in Evan’s Field - A Gem Among Elmwood Park’s Forest Preserves I recently had the pleasure of visiting Evan’s Field, a serene and beautifully maintained forest preserve located at the western edge of Elmwood Park. This hidden treasure is an absolute must-visit for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful retreat from the bustling city life. The lush greenery and well-preserved natural landscapes offer a perfect backdrop for a variety of outdoor activities. Whether it’s a leisurely walk, a jog, or simply enjoying a quiet moment, Evan’s Field provides an ideal setting. The trails are well-marked and suitable for all ages, making it a family-friendly spot. What truly sets this preserve apart are its wildlife encounters. From the playful squirrels to the majestic deer that roam freely, there’s always a delightful surprise awaiting. On my last visit, the highlight was witnessing deer graze peacefully – a rare and enchanting sight that speaks volumes about the preserve’s thriving ecosystem. For residents and visitors of Elmwood Park and surrounding areas, Evan’s Field is a breath of fresh air, offering a quick escape to nature without the need to travel far. Its proximity to Elmwood Park makes it a convenient and appealing destination for a day out in the beauty of nature. It's actually in River Grove, not River Forest. I tried submitting a correction but Google is very stubborn for some reason.
