My daughter absolutely loved the Double J Riding Club horse camp. She attended 1 week during the summer of 2021 and desperately wants to return. The camp counselors are adults; many other riding camps have 13 year old camp counselors. They are very organized; email with the way your child needs to dress and what they need to take with them to camp. FYI...no sneakers allowed. You must wear a shoe with a slight heel; I sent my child to camp with winter boots :p This camp also has LOADS of animals; chickens, turtles, snakes, etc. She was thrilled about the fact that she was able to hold a snake and clean a turtles shell. I will absolutely send her back to this camp.

If you want your child to have a unique and magical experience, look no further! Someone could seriously write a children's book about this special place. It's wonderful. :) The first program my daughter attended was their Animal Adventure summer camp. She loved it so much we decided to enroll her in Farmhand 101, which is a class she has been attending once a week. In this class they get to do age appropriate farm chores and get to know all the animals. There are a myriad different animals to befriend! (My personal favorite being Cindy the turkey!) They all have fun names and you can tell they are very loved and well cared for. The instructors are very knowledgeable and kind. They all have lots of experience working with animals and share a lot of great information with their students. There's a wide variety of classes, many on weekdays being for homeschooled kids, which I really appreciate! . I could go on and on about how great this place is, but you'll just have to go see it for yourself!

Double J is a very special place for our family. My older daughter enjoyed the lessons and in a short time basically progressed from knowing nothing about riding to developing the skills and confidence to jump. Meanwhile my younger daughter enjoyed the farm aspects of the property, including the ducks, pigs, chickens, rabbits, goats, playground, and yes the beloved tortoises too!

My son attended his first class at Double J last Friday. It was an Early Childhood Education class names "Messy Farm Fridays". He LOVED it. Attended with Grandma and they both had a great time. He got to feed animals and play with a ton of great sensory toys. They had everything prepped and well done. I'll be booking our next class soon!

I had a terrible experience at this horse riding ranch. It was clear that the owners don't care about the well-being of their horses. The horses looked malnourished, had matted coats, and were visibly exhausted from being overworked. The stables were poorly maintained and smelled strongly of manure, and the horses' water troughs were dirty and algae-filled. The staff seemed disinterested and untrained, and didn't even bother to check if riders had prior experience or knew how to handle the horses. I witnessed a few instances of the staff being rough with the horses, and it was clear that they had no respect for the animals they were supposed to be caring for. Overall, I would not recommend this horse riding ranch to anyone who cares about animal welfare.

We love this farm! Our 3 year old son goes to many of the one off classes and just started their farm school and he loves all of it. The teachers are very warm, and the permissive environment makes children feel comfortable when away from parents for the first time. We also did our son’s 3rd bday party here and the kids absolutely loved it.

Perfect little farm nestled in the western suburbs. The staff is friendly and has horse riding options and just a fun place to visit with little ( and big ) kids. They have a variety of animals and allow for an intimate experience. We took a private tour and the kids were able to feed and pet animals and ask questions about the environment and care of the animals. The staff was very patient with the questions and children in general.
