$80 pass fee for non resident. Plus pay for parking. Dangerous area because cars drive way too fast and not always stop at the people crossing area. There is always at least 1 crazy person there every time I have been in past yrs as well as this last time taking pictures of people randomly. Large sand area unfortunately not all is aloud to enter. Basically a small area is used to allow people get in. No swimming allowed. Unfortunately I payed for the access this yr but will never pay it again not even the $12 daily pass. I just want to experience all these beaches to check them out but for this fee will wright my reviews and take pictures of everything I find in sand meaning trash. Yesterday I found 2 bandages, 1 used syringe with needle attached. And walking bare feet. DANGER I would take my gloves next time and bring it to the life wards not that they would care or police. I will come back today to see if that syringe is still there. I was in a rush yesterday no time. They should clean beach with that huge amount of "donation fees"

Lovely little beach with gorgeous sand… but it costs $12 to access as a non-resident. I’m sorry. What?!? Outrageous

The new beach passes are absolutely absurd. Screams racism and classism. And clearly it's not like Evanston is putting that $$ into cleaning the beaches up.

One of the best beaches in Chicagoland. Clean, small, for the residents so not too overcrowded. This is the beautiful area, that I visit from Michigan everytime I visit Chicago. People often ask, why do stay in Evanston when you visit Chicago? I respond by saying, it's quiet, safe, clean, very nice people, and its only a 30 minute drive down Lakeshore to the city.

The swimming area is small and the lake water is not deep and must pay for entry plus $3 per hour parking meter

Nice beach. Life guards present and on top of things. Pretty good view of the city of you go to the left side of the beach when you're walking in. 12$ a person admission.

It’s a nice beach, no smoking allowed, really shallow (about 4ft), the men’s restroom needs cleaning.

You can't see the opposite beach although you know this is only a lake. At first, if you're coming from a place where only salt water beach you see, you will be surprised that it very much alike sea's beach. The fact that this is the lake's beach but still got waves and also freshwater will blow your mind.

Heads up if you’re rockhounding, this isn’t it. The sand is eerily flawless, esp if you’re used to garbage beaches w great gems hah. But if you’re swimming (& hate barefooting the mountains at Loyola beach) THIS is for sure the place to go. Its almost perfect.. 1 star less cos I’m petty & like staring at rocks for some reason

I parked on the street for 6 dollars. Honestly there was a little area you could access the beach. I'm hoping I wasn't in the wrong area. Alot of picnic tables to sit and relax. Absolutely beautiful place. Definitely will be back.

Nice beach kept in good shape. The water is shallow fairly far out but there are some spots you can swim around in. You need a token in order to go to the beach, it's not free.

😠 The beach is beautiful, the water fresh, cool and clear. The problem is that you cannot enjoy it. The beach is so severely regulated with kids enforcing ignorant laws and they are extremely overzealous. There's a small square of buoys that your allowed to swim and nowhere else. It's so small that th...

🫤 They are charging for passes now and this is a public beach. Seems weird and not right. Public means anyone can go in for free. Given COVID, passes would be fine to limit capacity but they should be free. You can’t even buy passes at the gate. Seems like they are trying to prevent certain people fro...

👍 This beach is free with a NU ID or a Henry Crown/SPAC membership, otherwise you have to pay the usual Evanston fees to get onto the beach. The beach itself is small and there isn't really room for a volley ball net, but it's clean and still has a good view. Room for throwing frisbees in the back. Ju...
