It's a shame that I've been working remote since the pandemic. Otherwise, I'd eat here every week. Got carry-out from here for the first time yesterday and it was amazing. Just polished off the microwaved leftovers that were just as good. I ordered the Gobi 65 and Dal Makhani, both at medium spice. That was exactly the level I needed for a cold night: a bit of kick/sinus clear-up without needing to down a gallon of milk. The Gobi was nice and crispy, even with the train ride. To go with the Dal, I got the Garlic Naan and Paratha, both were soft and full of nooks/crannies to soak up the Dal...Yum! The manager even gave me some mango laasi to try while I waited for my food to be ready. Now, I don't order mango laasi that often, but that was probably the best I've ever had: velvety smooth and not too sweet so that you can taste the tart from the yogurt.

Highly recommended for Indian food. They have several options in menu. We choose 2 separate thali, one non-veg. Food tasted amazing. Bust of flavors in the mouth. With thali they separately serve each dishes, so in total we got six items. They give you in ample portion. They give papar at as appetizer which is not that good. Each curry has unique sort of flavors. I preferred the curry with nun rooti but my sister liked rice. We ordered 2 types dessert which were okaish. The staff girl was very friend with us. She spent quite sometime, talking with my nieces. The head chef is Nepali and lots of Nepali posters are hanging in the Indian traditional atmosphere. Good to see collaboration of two distinct nations. Around 100 people sitting area. Dhaba style sitting area looked nice. They have well trained set of staffs in the restaurant which adds separate value. They also have drinks available. Price is loss compared to its taste.

Nice restaurant at Chicago downtown to have Indian cuisine. Atmosphere was great. Service was also get. They serve complimentary roasted papad which taste good with red and green chatni. Specially the red chatni was fantastic. We ordered Amritsary fish fry, onion kulcha and chicken kadai. Fish fry was tasted really good. Other items were also tasty. Ambience and decor of the restaurant was really good. Will definitely visit again.

Soooo good! I had dinner at this restaurant for the first time a week ago and was craving it again so ordered on Grub hub. Got the Maharaj Mix grill for the second time. The portion for 1 is enough for 2. Definitely better at the restaurant and the portion is better in person but still very good. Also tried the lamp chops and another grill plate. The mix plates are great as the portions are huge and you get to try a lot. Highly recommend!

We did lunch dine in and took take out for dinner here. Had order Gobi Manchurian and Chef special. Both were amazing and portions were generous. Ordered chaat for dinner which was good as well. Did also try the Chicken lollipop and those were not up to the mark, very tangy. Overall a great experience. Good service. Reasonably priced.

We ordered the Chef Special's Maharaj dinner special for one, but it was more than enough food to feed two. Extremely impressed with the food: mixed grill, lentil curry, lamb curry, rice, amazing naan, and gulab jamun. My favorites were the bone-in grilled chicken, naan, and the curries. The cost came out to be approximately $15 per person after tax, definitely worth it! Our waiter was amazing too, people often came to check up on us (probably too often). Would definitely come again to try the other dinner spread.

My family and I were in Chicago Downtown and we were craving some Indian food! Just a quick Google and ended up at this restaurant. It's about 10 minutes away from Michigan Ave. We weren't sure about the restaurant but it definitely surpassed all of our expectations. While we were ordering food, we found out that the restaurant had been newly opened for a week. The customer service was hands down one of the best one I had experienced in a while. We were greeted by the owner of the restaurant. The food came in way faster than we had expected. It tasted great and satisfying! The overall design, structure and environment compliments to your entire experience. The whole family loved it. If you're in downtown and need to checkout some Indian cuisine, I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Unbelievably good, Rogan Josh, Butter Chicken, the naan. Best Indian food in Chicago for me. Chef's lunch special was like three lunches for under $20. Bright and happy dining room. Magically spiced.

This place was great! We had gluten free and vegan eaters and found something for everyone here. I ordered off menu, my favorite dish, chicken Korma and didn’t love it, but the Butter Chicken was fantastic and I’ll stick with their menu bests next time. Parking was challenging, but the ambiance and location made up for it!

I ordered the special. Pretty much a sampler. Plus an order of samosas & garlic naan. Everything was well seasoned & cooked to perfection. It was our first time here and we’re all looking forward to coming back and trying more menu items. The service was also very good as well.

This was an amazing experience! I was surprised to hear that this restaurant had only recently opened. The lunch specials were amazing, and I was very pleased with the amount of food I have grown to appreciate from an Indian restaurant. I asked for the highest level of spice, and found that it was the perfect level of sniffles mixed with the need to keep eating. 5/5 experience definitely.

This is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Chicago - they absolutely nail EVERYTHING. The waiters are exceptional - they are attentive and friendly, and if you dine in I really recommend sitting in one of the seats that is a hammock. The atmosphere is great, and the food is very good. I recommend getting any of the Chef's recommendation (I usually get the Tandoori grill special and split it with someone) as they are really good value and their garlic naans are super fresh. Would come back!

The experience was excellent and authentic. The paneer pakora was delicious, and the lamb rogan josh was a true standout. I highly recommend ordering one of the chef's recommendation combos, as you get a delicious assortment and fantastic portions - not too much, not too little. The naan was also fluffy and buttery and perfect. I came here after a long day of walking and museums and activities, and it was a wonderful atmosphere to wind down and fantastic food to help fight off the chill. Can't wait to come back!

The food was pretty decent. Their apps - fried okra, paneer pakoda, chat were decent. The chicken biryani was decent but not the best I've had. The chicken Tikka masala was average. The garlic naan could've had more garlic on it. We were a good group of 12 people so we had to be mild on our spice levels. For an Indian wanting Indian food, this was a pretty decent place with good food. If I come here again when visiting Chicago, I'll ask for a higher level of spice.

This was my first time. I enjoyed the atmosphere inside. There were a few vegan options. The Manger assisted me in picking. I got Curry and steamed rice. The portion size is great.

Excellent find. We ordered the Vegetable Pakora appetizer. So good! We also did the lunch special Chicken Kadai and Chef Special which is kind of like a sampler. Generous portions, delicious flavors. The staff was super friendly. We would highly recommend this place!

Great Indian restaurant located in the heart of Chicago. We called ahead and made a reservation for 9 pm. Upon arriving, we were seated promptly. Service was good, food was excellent. The owner even came to check on us afterwards to make sure we had a pleasant experience. We are from Texas, but will definitely come back when we visit Chicago in the future. Thank you!

We visited this restaurant right at the time of closure, but still they were kind enough to let us in. The restaurant has ample dining space. The Biriyani we ordered was more than enough for two people. Naans were good as well. The food was not as spicy as we expected, but tasty. The prices were reasonable as well. The staff was polite & the service was good.

It's an authentic Indian restaurant in the heart of downtown. They have food with different spice levels so you can always customize it to your liking. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It's a good place for a big group or a couple. The ambiance is great, some of the seats are actually the Indian beds that you can sit on. The place is usually crowded as the food is really good. You can make reservations if needed but we just walked in. They have vegetarian options. The food is also halal I believe. I love the complimentary papad, it's very crispy. You can even ask them to add chaat masala to it.

Our experience with the restaurant was very very good. Food was very delicious and owner was very kind and helped us to get parking as well. There is no doubt that anyone coming to chicago downtown should come and eat here. Over and above pricing was budget friendly and we did lunch here on both days with group of 13 people including kids and older people. Everyone was fully satisfied . Wow

Great Indian restaurant in downtown, tasty food, good ambience, service was quick, also they don't add egg to Naan which was a plus one from me. We were provided with complimentary Papad with chutney, for appetizers we had gobi Manchurian which was spicy and delicious and veg platter which was Ok-ish. For the main course we had Garlic naan, veg biryani and Kadhai paneer, all of them were delicious and up to the slice level which we requested. Overall it was a great experience and would be visiting here more often.

Excited to try this restaurant as I was craving for Indian food and it has a high rating. I tried the chef’s choice (lunch) and was very satisfied with the portion and the taste! The tandoori came “sizzling”. The other two curry options were creamy and tasty. Service was great too.

Wow, here’s my new favorite Indian restaurant! Utterly delicious (and perfectly priced) food, transportive, atmospheric interior and attentive as heck staff! I loved this meal. The lunch express is such an incredible value with enormous portions. For a lunch in the Loop, you can’t beat it!

Loved the ambiance. Typical desi dhaba style. Tasty food. The naan was fresh and perfect. Rogan Josh was delicious. Go for the "Chefs recommendation combo". Decent quantity for two. The staff, notably Heenal, was nice. A visit to Maharaj Indian Grill is definitely worthwhile for those craving authentic Desi cuisine while away from home.

Cute indian restaurant with great service. They have beautiful indian decor and the food is tasty as well. Gobhi manchurian, aloo paratha and fresh lime soda were all yummy. Mango lassi was not bad. Seating was very interesting as you can see in the pictures. Very colorful and nice restaurant. We ended up eating here multiple times as the food was great. Dal tadka was good too.

Delicious veg Indian food. Liked the combo plan. Was good for one person. Prompt service. Reasonably priced when compared to other Indian restaurants in the same area. Enjoyed the food and recommed it!

i’m coming back again without a doubt. the service was unmatched, they moved all our food to a new seat bc we didn't like the area we chose, they continuously checked on us and made sure everything was in our favor. they don't treat you like just another customer, you can tell they value their customers. the food was immaculate, i just loved the entire atmosphere itself. definitely recommend, our server was Noha and she was oh so kind and friendly Thank you for an amazing dinner.
