A really beautiful, well maintained guest farm, offering delicious breakfasts and dinners. The many sheep, bunnies, abundant birdlife, and resident Kudu and Roan Antelope are a delight. We only spent one night and due to all the cottages being fully booked we had to opt for the tented accommodation. The tent was made comfortable with descent beds and carpeted flooring but otherwise very basic. The option to self cater was made difficult due to the lack of washing up and kitchen facilities. The one shower and toilet, made available for the use of all the campers, is located adjacent to the restaurant toilet facilities. If camping is not your thing (and it definitely isn't mine), then opt for a stay in the cottages. Unfortunately, due to the heavy rains experienced shortly before our arrival, the long road leading up to the farm was slick with thick mud, as was the area we were required to park in, making unpacking and walking around quite unpleasant. All in all, it is a lovely establishment, which I would recommend, but would I would like to experience a more luxurious option next time.

This is a little piece of paradise in the middle of nowhere. The accomodation is very comfortable and well kept. The dinner buffet was exceptional. We went on the night drive and saw 3 of the shy 5 twice. Even if we had not seen a thing the drive would have been worth it. It was a chilly evening so we we're bundled up in blankets. The night sky was clear and being out in the open like that was invigorating. Our guide PC is a quiet soul with a depth of knowledge of the surroundings and wildlife. His passion and vision for the wildlife and local communities is infectious. I commend him and his team for what they are doing. We shall definitely visit again.

If you ever want to experience true South-Africsn hospitality, this is it. From an honesty bar where you take what you want and write up (like a chit), to the hippo drive overlooking the Seekoei river. Accommodation was great with personal touches everywhere. The food - prepared to perfection and presented like a true master chef and the taste and flavors are out of this world. Thank you to the owners and staff for making this an unforgettable experience that will see us coming back for more!

Excellent comfortable accommodation and environment. Fabulous engaging hosts with expert knowledge on the ecology of the farm. Of course the wide open expanse of the Karoo, nothing beats that. Very hearty food as well.

A great place to overnight with kids. We decided to stay 2 nights. Lots of green space to stretch your legs with animals all around you. For kids- pool, trampoline, farm animals, canoe in river, fishing; although we did not catch anything. For adults- help yourself to their honesty bar and wine seller, good food, sunset drive to hippos / buffalo, and superb hospitality! Each tent has it's own bathroom which is great.

The most beautiful, tranquil place with the warmest hospitality and most amazing, varied meals served ... 5* quality. The accommodation is luxurious, the rooms beautifully done , very comfortable... " Shy 5 " game drives , sundowners at the hippo pond , sunset drives into the koppies with the most amazing sunsets one can imagine. An absolute must visit

A gem in the heart of South Africa. This beautiful reserve offers visitors open vistas, beautiful views, and a quiet space to relax and enjoy nature. For birders, this is a diverse and productive area that offers the usual karoo birds, but also some rarities and a surprising diversity of inland water birds. We enjoyed the food tremendously during our stay, and the in-house cellar stocks excellent wines. In the rainy season, I would recommend a high-clearance vehicle to enter the reserve, especially in the days following heavy rain.

We had two wonderful days, were well entertained and looked after. Praise to the Kitchen Queen and PC for the hearty all-round carefree package! We would be happy to come back! Hopefully it will work out with the hippos and we'll read the success story. Greetings to Julia too!

This establishment is absolutely worth visiting, add it to your bucket list. The birdlife is incredible, the Shy 5 are amazing and worth seeing. The accommodation is top class and the food alone is worth going to this place as it is amazing. Wide open spaces, incredible sunsets. Well worth visiting. The Northern Cape has so much to offer yet it is so underrated. Add this to your bucket list.

Ons het so 'n lekker rustige daggie spandeer. Marisca se kos was uit die boonste rakke. En geen beurt krag nie, dit was baie lekker dankie

We stayed overnight at New Holme. All in all pretty good. December pricing seemed to be higher for the value received. The buffet pricing at R1000 (ex drinks) for the family is high. But to be honest, at the end of a holiday, I was not feeling like a starter, desert, and all that you can eat lamb.
