Lovely little shop that feels like you're at home as soon as you walk in. Staff were bright, welcoming and customer friendly. The aromas of toasting bread and brewing coffee filled the air. Owners are nice and accommodating. They gave us free cookies because there was an issue with our order (we had no idea, we were busy admiring all the decor and merch). Hubby had The Works panini, and I had the Wake Up Esco. They were beyond good and surprisingly big, but not heavy or greasy. The wake up had some spice to the chicken but was balanced with the pickle and cheese. They make fresh lemonade using real "fresh squeezed" lemons. Yes, please. I ordered the strawberry lemonade and was it ever refreshing. I'm a fan and would recommend this place everyday.

Cute little shop, with very nice staff! Loved the sandwich I got. My wife had a crustless quiche that was also great! Good gluten free options!

My husband & I stopped here to grab breakfast. I had been here once a few months back and thought it was a great place to split breakfast since it was late in the morning. They have sandwiches (panini) and quiches. We split The Works. It hit the spot. You even get a bit of fruit on the side. Great taste and texture. Worth stopping in. The staff wears masks and there is outdoor seating in front and the back. They even cater too.

After a long night of work...we wanted something new, something different. Enter the Sunny Side Kitchen in Escondido!! We tried 3 of their sandwiches: the Chicken Bacon Ranch Panini, the Gourmet Grilled Cheese Panini, and the Turkey Bacon Club. All were amazingly delicious!! Awesome toasted sourdough and CRISPY bacon! Glad we stopped by and look forward to going back for more. 😄

10 stars for sure! Smells like my memier’s kitchen. Went for soup but got delicious artichoke, tomato quiche baked to perfection. Very charming, quaint and simply perfect. Charming service, as well. Today 2/20/2023 it was Tuscan Chicken Salad. Likely gets very busy during meal hours but so worth it! Best little gem I’ve experienced yet, but so worth every second & every crumb. My favorite little homestyle restaurant Ever, so please don’t come here. They’re too busy for YOU. Quiche took nearly 17 minutes because they reheat to perfection, consistent, even temperature in an actual oven. Likely, NEVER NUKED, no microwave 🚫 Salad was as fresh as fresh can be. So Good.

This was a great little breakfast and brunch spot. For the panini sandwiches, I recommend getting a whole, they're the perfect size.

Was craving a panini and saw this place on Google. Cute little spot in downtown Escondido. Ordered the pesto chicken and was NOT disappointed. Absolutely delicious. Totally hit the spot for what I was craving. It was a little expensive but good food ain't cheap. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu! Also the strawberry lemonade....chefs kiss delicious as well. Perfect Sweetness and not too tart.

Food was flavorful and well prepared. I'm just disappointed because they charged me 4.50 for a 12oz or less housmade lemonade and they filled it up 90% with ice. I finish the drink halfway through finishing the sandwich. I had 4 sips and it was gone. I understand it's freshly housemade, but at least offer your customers a free refill if they dine in and tip 20%, in my opinion.

I don't know if this is a family run operation. But, it feels like it.... in a GOOD way. Not in a dysfunctional, resentful, bickering family kinda way 🤣. Maybe, in a "I wish my family were this charming." kinda way. Hard to find genuinely good service these days. Couple that with good food, and this place nails it! Oh, I didn't come for the brownie. But, made an impulse purchase on the way out. F'ing WOW!!

I scarfed down my sandwich wayyyy too quickly to snap a cute photo, it was SO GOOD. I ordered the good day sunshine, the sunshine sauce was lit lit 🔥, the sourdough had like cheese and rosemary/thyme baked into a crust on its outside and that was the touch that made this the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever eaten. The girls working here are so nice too, this Michigan boy will be back, Sunny Side!

The staff is very friendly, personable and welcoming. My 3rd time coming in I was greeted by my name it was such a a wonderful feeling. I was visiting for work but I will definitely visit next time I am in town. Great coffee, Panini, pasta salad and quiche. You can't go wrong with anything you order.

This place is fantastic for breakfast and lunch. The people here are very kind and homely. The vibe is great and the food is even better. Pro tip: there’s parking and seating in the back! Also, try their cookies!

Great little sandwich shop - cozy interior with limited seating and a handful of sidewalk, patio seating outside. Really friendly, inviting staff. Ordered take-out online, ready just before schedule pick up time. California Club was fantastic, the crust from the panini press was buttery and cheesy. Yeah sandwich was loaded with flavorful chicken, fresh avocado, thick crispy bacon, and melted cheese. Delicious! My dining companion got the Bacon Chicken Ranch and gave a rave review. A dozen mini-cookies were a great dessert.

We LOVE Sunny Side Kitchen. My husband and I always end up going to Sunny Side for our breakfast dates because we love it so much. The staff are kind and make you feel welcomed. All of the food is delicious, especially the green chili quiche. I recently had Sunny Side cater a teacher appreciation lunch at my kid's preschool. It was so easy to discuss and order what would be best to serve. The food was easily packaged and beautifully laid out. Thank you for serving our community!

Went in this morning to try the world famous breakfast pannini. We shared a full The Works on sourdough; quality ingredients, assembled well. A little bland for my tastes and I could not even taste the cheeses. Our sister had the Pepper-Jack and green chili Quiche and was very happy. And the flavored Lemonades were great.

Amazing service, staff really seemed to care about making your experience A1. All day menu and can modify almost anything vegan/veggie no problem. Love this spot.

Easily some of the best food in San Diego. I drive 40 minutes (each way) on a regular basis to eat here. Their fresh squeezed Strawberry Lemonade is to live for. Their sandwiches are delicious beyond reason. Their soups have exquisite, elegant depth while still feeling like everything that makes you think of "Hearth and Home". I always feel SO GOOD after eating there! The food is fresh and light and gives you energy. You can absolutely feel the love in each bite. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It's fantastic. 🥰

This place is awesome. Feels like home and has exceptional hospitality. Breakfast paninis are picture perfect. Sorry ate it before I could get a picture haha. They also have delicate delicious mini cookies and they even do half price day old treats which is the best. Menu is simple and delicious. Super friendly staff. Thank you Sunny Side!
