We came across The Duck accidentally while passing through. A chap was sat outside having a pint. Instinctively I stopped and suggested we did the same. From the outside, to be honest the pub looks rather ordinary, but step inside and it’s anything but. We had already eaten, but this pub looked and felt like it would have been perfect. There was plenty of people eating, and the informal seating throughout created some great places to relax and enjoy your food. There was a good vibe throughout the place. Beer selection looked pretty good, and being Coeliac I couldn’t help but notice a chap drinking Gluten Free Peroni. Nice touch from the pub there. We enjoyed our pint of cider sat in the sun out front, but our next stop if we come this way will certainly be for food.

Perhaps the best Gastro Pub in Somerset with the Biggest car park l have ever seen, not a muddy one, you can see money has been invested in this amazing Gastro pub, it's certainly not just a Pub the Gastro is the important, the menu selection is second to none! The friendly atmosphere and service was excellent. Dog friendly as that's always important part of my reviews, we were not excluded to a shady corner as usual. There was a big group of 16 coming following us, so they were very keen to get us sorted out before they started on the bigger group with perhaps more profit. I have already recommended the restaurant to many of my friend's. What ever you do, try those chunky chips 🍟 we even spoke to the Chef and explained his special technique. The Monk fish Thai curry was very tasty and we both loved the Brownie and the Cheese, we both just had to swap halfway. Can't wait to return, almost on our door step on the Somerset Levels with stunning views.

We visited the Duck as we were staying at a cottage next door.Make sure to book a table , as it’s always busy. Food is excellent, staff are wonderful, and it’s dog friendly. The Sunday roast is great, ate there a couple of times over our weekend visit, enjoyed a great burger lunch, before driving back home to the Northwest.

Extremely pleasant visit. We really enjoyed the decor which was somehow both rustic and modern (!)..lots of seating on comfortable chairs inside and a large patio area outside. Helpful staff and friendly service. Lots of parking spaces available off road - lovely views across the levels : hills of the area. Highly recommend - we didn’t eat but having seen the food being served to others we wished we had!!!!

Great food in a very welcoming bar. Best crab salad I've had and been told the pork belly was one of the best also. Very enjoyable evening.

A surprising find! Excellent food, service, and experience - we were thrilled with our dinner! The restaurant is clean and newly renovated with excellent taste. The dishes are superb! I had the duck, which was better than a 5 star fancy restaurant in France. Wow!! Each dish was prepared with fabulous taste and exquisite presentation. The starters were also outstanding and the dessert very tasty - better than any restaurant for miles around! Truly an oasis of flavor. We will DEFINITELY be back!

We went on a Monday lunchtime and were surprised at the amount of people eating there on a cold, grey day in January! However, the welcome we received was extremely warm and friendly. We were shown to our table which had beautiful views over the levels. The service was amazing, staff attentive and knowledgeable. There was a very warm, friendly feel to the place. The lunch menu was very comprehensive and the food was absolutely delicious, freshly cooked and beautifully presented. I will definitely be going back there.

Top-notch pub food. Although I would have preferred my burger etc on a plate rather than a bit of wood. But that's a 'thing' nowadays. Will definitely go again and sample more of the menu

What a find! Friendly staff, great service and fantastic food. This is not average pub grub. There is a varied menu and the food is well cooked and presented. Busy even on a Tuesday evening.

Six of my family were here celebrating my daughter's birthday. We all had afternoon tea which exceeded my expectations!! It has to be the best afternoon tea we had ever had! A lovely selection of finger sandwiches and some very delicious mini cakes and of course not forgetting superb scones with conserve and clotted cream. Service was faultless. Very accommodating staff. We have been to The Duck many times for evening meals which have always been top quality!! I would not hesitate to recommend The Duck to anyone!! Thank you very much.

Every time that we have eaten at the Duck it's been pleasurable experience. Lovely food, friendly staff & it's just a nice place to eat out. The travelling might detour some people but I think it's worth it.

First visit and won't be the last. This out of the way pub serves fantastic food. My husband had a steak which was cooked just as he asked but is desperate to go back to have the pork. I had a huge meringue nest for dessert which my husband had to finish. We visited after it was recommended to us. There is a large car park and a lovely garden.

What an amazing find. From the moment we arrived until we left the staff were absolutely amazing. The food was the best I've had for a very long time. The menu was incredible with such great choice. Something for everyone. A fantastic place if you want delicious proper food cooked from scratch. I will definitely go back and recommend to everyone.

We had an excellent meal at the Duck earlier in the week. The meal was delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. Prices are very reasonable as well. We will be back, regularly I expect as we want to sample what else the menu has on offer. Well recommended.

Highly recommend this pub. A lovely setting, cosy interior with a great vibe. Was so nice to see them fully booked as well. The service was impeccable and the food delicious. I had the monkfish Thai curry - it was very very good. Nice to see something different like this on a pub menu. The red velvet cheesecake was amazing.

Stopped off after a bike ride, I wondered if they would mind I was in cycling kit. I needn’t have worried as I got a warm and friendly reception from the bar staff. This pub has loads of outdoor seating in a nice quiet setting.

Outstanding gastro pub. Great menu, unusual ingredients (ie salsify)great flavour combinations. Lovely local ales and ciders (Butcombe recommended). Fab pub garden with ducks. Brilliant, friendly, professional staff. Sunday roasts are exemplary!

Absolutely fantastic food, excellent service. The fish and chips are the best I have ever tasted. Can't wait to try the Sunday lunch. Well worth the wait to book a table at this busy restaurant, I now understand why they are so busy.

What a find! We were on our way to Glastonbury and stopped off en-route. Lovely food and welcoming staff. Peaceful location on the Somerset levels. The beer garden is divine and we really enjoyed our leisurely lunch in the sunshine. We will definitely return when in the area again 🙂
