Don't like giving low star reviews, however on this occasion I'm making an exception if only to highlight what you may well experience if an issue occurs with your purchase. If you've read the other reviews you will possibly notice that when purchasing from Jon Lewis the reviews are generally good, unfortunately from my experience ,in my opinion, the same cannot be said of the customer after sales service, which used to be fantastic by the way,so very sad and disappointing. My recent experience tells me that there is little point if there's a problem or issue asking to speak to a Manager as that request will be ignored, for some reason they don't wish to speak to a customer directly it seems, one of the associates will be instructed to contact instead,be prepared for responses referring you to their T&C's and don't expect much empathy or understanding to your issue instead expect cold business like responses . I would suggest to look at other retailers who are more customer focused and actually want to help their customers, there are plenty out there.

Visited there today with my family after browsing around for hot chocolate and scones. The staff there are very friendly and professional. They go all out to make sure you’re happy and comfortable. Well done staff at John Lewis cafe. It was lovely to experience:)

You need to watch the sales items. They mark down the price at the item but want to charge you full price at the till First comment from the checkout staff “I can only charge you for what scans” This was the second time in two visits - not good

Went to buy clothes in Hobbs, and the staff were beyond helpful. They went to change sizes, get jackets, hats, bags, shoes, and offer advice. They were chatty and friendly and ran around for me for about an hour. I bought the whole outfit and came away feeling really happy and relieved; a dreaded experience of buying on my own, turned into a delightful and successful shopping experience. I will definitely return ladies and thank you so much for your help.

Visited today with my husband to shop for a pram as we're expecting our first baby in March 2023. I'd like to say a massive THANK YOU to Hayley who helped us, and who was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Incredibly knowledgeable, couldn't do enough for us, and gave us great advice on which products would best suit our needs. We ended up ordering a pram, carry cot, car seat and a couple of other bits. Thanks Hayley, for being an absolute credit to John Lewis, and for answering all our first timer questions! 😊

Went in to buy headphones, all labelled at £179 but were then told at the checkout that some colours were more expensive than other even though the only price tags on display showed the lower price. No effort to resolve the issue and the product were placed back on display with the same price tag showing the lower price so they could waste another customers time as well as ours. Awful customer service experience, don’t trust the prices shown, double-check rather than trusting their staff to correct it or shop at a proper technology store in the future.

Bought four scatter cushions today (1.05pm) @ the Trafford Centre store, & was served by a lovely smiley girl named Kelly, she was SO helpful.Arrived home & they looked so nice I phoned Customer Service to ask them to save another two, only to be told they had been deleted as no longer available?! Drove back to the store,as earlier, Kelly had been 'upstairs' to bring more down, & I was SO pleased that they were still there! Kelly, plus the other cashiers, were really pleasant & helpful which is why John Lewis retains their excellent reputation. Great Customer Service, thankyou.

I booked a Nursery & car seat appointment with Joyce a few weeks ago. Joyce took extra time to explain all of the options, she was so helpful. It was exactly what I needed as a first time mum. I didn't have my car with me so Joyce advised I book another appointment and bring my car. She emailed me all of the information about the seats we had looked at. Not only was Joyce's product knowledge excellent, her customer service was just fantastic. Joyce is an absolute credit to John Lewis, and for me is the exact reason I value going to John Lewis over other retailers. 100% recommend the nursery services at the Trafford centre store, plenty of choice and wonderful customer service.

Never had a personal shopper before. But kudos to Adam! He approached us and offered his services. Which we accepted. And couldn’t have been happier. He helped kit both my girlfriend and I out with parts of outfits for a an evening out. Helping show what styles go and offering advice. Never being too pushy or feeing like it was all about the ‘sale’. We’re both very pleased with the service and what we purchased and will be back again to call on Adam’s help the next time. Thank you.

Lovely store and staff. Best shop in the Trafford centre. Staff know their products and customer service is always good. Favourite department is the technology section on the first floor, amazing products for sale and the sales people will help if you need anything or leave you to browse if that's how you shop.

I called into store with my lovely cousin looking for a specific Rum called Mermaid. I never thought of buying alcohol from JL but it was one of the very few places that stocked it. I was approached by Mario asking if I needed help, which he gave and did everything he could to assist without being pushy, he was informative, friendly & very professional. Suffice to say I was delighted and purchased it. Helpful customer service from the Carmen and Audrey too. Thanks to all.

John Lewis provide some very pleasant food (scones, cake of all types, and sandwiches) BUT soup is never ready on time. At 12.20pm today (Sunday) told that the soup would not be ready for a further 15-20 min. It’s happened countless times. If the restaurant opens at 12 noon for lunch the soup should be ready. We gave up and went to M&S. Not good enough JL - someone needs to get a grip.

Chicken soup was lovely. Lots of busy staff not really knowing what they are doing. Badly organized. Need a leader. Big queues but no clue sadly

Wide selection of homeware items and a good discount section for technology and also a good discount section for babies. Shop is always clean and staff are always friendly and helpful. It's a shame that the shop doesn't offer price match anymore, however still plenty of good offers to be had.

Great experience with Josh from Samsung, however experience was unfortunately 3 stars because of Ade. Josh was extremely helpful when myself and my partner were buying a TV. He was extremely helpful and not pressurising at all. However unfortunately Ade was reluctant to serving us for some reason I don’t know why. He was extremely abrupt when asking our details. To be quite honest his customer service was shocking. It was 5:45 on a Sunday and he clearly couldn’t be bothered to serve and just wanted to get home. Customer service should be the same through out the store regardless of being 15 minutes away from closing. Thank you very much Josh for your excellent service we really appreciate it.

We visited this place as we are expecting a baby soon, and we received excellent guidance and recommendations for everything we need. The staff was great and provided us with helpful suggestions on baby essentials. I highly recommend using their baby service for all your needs as you prepare for your little one's arrival.

Lovely staff at The Place to Eat, mentioned I had an allergy and they went above and beyond. Refreshing to see people so empathetic to customers needs and knowledgeable about the processes they use.

Oh dear. 11.30am, a busy Saturday morning, a couple of weeks before Christmas. A time when shops and cafes should be well staffed, people should not be kept waiting 15 minutes to get a cup of tea and Saturday employees should not be fiddling with their hair while serving food. A time when managers should ensure long queues are not forming, staff should be aware that not every customer is able to stand and wait for nearly 20 minutes to be served while the staff chat, move at a snails pace and be gazing into space. Absolutely dreadful service, saved only be a reasonably clean and tidy eating area and a decent - ish cup of tea. This is not acceptable and quite honestly, it's no wonder that John Lewis are struggling if this is any indication of the levels of service.

Lots of things missing prices on both items and the shelves. Many items are out of their boxes or placed elsewhere in the store. Toilets downstairs were not nice at all. All over the store there's lots of floor tiles loose and like a see-saw when you step on them! Not sure i'll be visiting again.

Ordered a TV with installation. The after sales service is very good . I was well informed on date and time of delivery . Phil and Tom came in time for delivery and installation . Their services is top notch. Phil provided good advice and very professional. He also helped to ensure the proper running of the TV. Highly recommend

Recently visited John Lewis at Trafford Centre as needed advice on an outfit for me to wear at my daughter's wedding. Had an appointment (free) with personal shopper assistant, Adam. I was absolutely delighted with the whole experience. Adam was so helpful, not at all pushy and I left with the perfect outfit. Cannot recommend him or the service highly enough

Came in for brunch with a friend and it was busy. Some of the staff didn't have a clue what they were doing and were just standing around not being helpful at all. However there was one member of staff who's name I got Malket and she was very helpful and professional and we noticed her picking up the slack from the other staff who were just standing there. So thank you Malket you truly are a great employee and a true professional, I'd definitely be coming back if she's on shift.

On Sunday 11 June 2022 My wife and myself went to John Lewis at the Trafford Centre to purchase a shopping trolly, which we had seen on the web site. We were met by a lovely helpful lady called Elvire ( lovely name as well) She asked if she could help us, and because at the moment i am using a walking stick. She escorted us to an area were there were seats. My wife showed her the picture of the shopping trolly, and she duly set off to find one. It is a very long time since we have encountered anyone so helpful. We would like to take this opportunity to thank her, and John Lewis for employing her. She is an asset to the organisation. 10/10 Well done.

Been there today to return faulty blinder, and Tom from tech support didn't really knew what's is he doing, and he would take few moments to think of an excuses just to not return the item, and speaking unprofessionally giving me his general knowledge. It means he didn't have enough knowledge about how returns work. All he said is that I cannot do anything about it. I am very disappointed at John Lewis

Nice shop - Christmas section is very crammed. Cafe had a limited menu when I was there and it was very slow. Had about 5 people ahead of me and queued for 10 minutes for a cup of tea. Staff were friendly. Seemed to have limited stock levels on a number of items (especially electronics) at the moment. Couldn't get what I wanted and had to source on-line, which is a shame.

John Lewis is a very impressive well stocked mega store which sell a vast range of clothes and house hold products . It is clearly evident that John Lewis mainly focus on quality brands. My wife was looking for a coat and a short jacket. She found a nice red jacket which looks great on her being a unusual modern design. One happy customer spreads the satisfaction to others to follow.

Excellent large two story floor, with wide selection of goods from clothing, home goods, furniture and furnishings, electronics, fragrances, garden furniture, and so much more. Massive car parks , toilets but no cafe. Friendly & helpful staff… Top store that’s definitely worth visiting on a regular basis.

Dont get extended warranty when you buy a Hotpoint Fridge/freezer The draws are rubbish in the fridge and freezer. Mine is approx 33 months old and draws started to crack at 19 months old . The shelf that holds the milk bottles is full of fine cracks I thought John Lewis insured for 5 yrs never again will I buy from them I paid £465 I may as well bought a cheap tat one and got rid and bought another. I am annoyed it took 3 phone calls to find that only motors etc are covered I have always bought Hotpoint but NEVER again. I am noy buying replacement parts they have had as much of my money as it is. They are made in Turkey not British made . Hotpoint is rubbish now.

If I could give no stars at all I would. I purchased a Kettler table and chairs set from this company and received dreadful service where they failed to deliver on umpteen occasions and then finally when they did turn up they had the wrong table, eventually they managed to fulfil the order. Fast forward four years and last week the glass has completely shattered on the table, for no apparent reason, I can only assume it must have expanded from the heat. I am only grateful that nobody was near it at the time. Unfortunately due to the fact that the table only carried a three year guarantee neither Kettler nor John Lewis will do anything about it. Surely an outdoor table and chair set which is supposed to withstand all weather conditions, whether it be extreme cold or hot should be fit for purpose and regardless of it being out of warranty, I thought that due to the circumstances they would be willing to either replace the table or replace the glass. It has taken me a week going between the two companies to finally find out that they are unwilling to do anything at all. For such upmarket brands their customer service certainly does not match up. I will never ever use either company again.

Was at the store 19/12/2022 in the lighting department as our online delivery for the ribbon lampshade got lost so went into the store to get one. JL Trafford you would have got 1 star if it wasn’t for a lovely young person called Paige who went completely out of her way to assist this was after 1 woman & 2 men (staff) had completely fudged their responsibility to assist & made excuses about being ‘busy’ elsewhere one of the staff was even working on the lighting department. Paige just happened to be passing by and helped….what a star! Thankyou Paige you have redeemed our faith in JL thankyou!!

We were served by Vicki yesterday and she was INCREDIBLE. She helped us with our purchase and gave us lots of safety information that we had no idea about until speaking to her. Probably some of the worse service ever, I just couldn’t believe how unorganised and sliw the staff were.. One person was in front of me getting 3 drinks and I was there for 20mins. I should have waited in the 15 deep queue in Starbucks

I visited this store a few years ago to purchase a TV. If you want your TV or other large electrical item to be delivered, installed and set up, this is the best store as the service is very reliable. All Tvs (and I think maybe other large electrical items) come with warranty for 5 years, which is much higher than other stores. So always keep your receipt in a safe place just in case. Please read my reviews to see how other John Lewis stores and local stores in area compare.

This review is solely due to my experience in the dedicated footwear section next to the external doors. Went in looking for work shoes and there was only one member of staff serving customers. As you can imagine the sales are still on so it was manic. The customer service representative (older lady with blonde/grey curly hair) made me feel very uncomfortable scrutinising me whilst browsing. Anyway I was looking for something suitable for work in my specific size, but there were none left in the style I liked. Having established that and deciding she couldn’t make a sale she went from reasonably helpful (aside from the stock scanning app she had not, working at all), to dismissive and rude. Comments to note while I was trying on alternative footwear… “are you still here”. When I tried on a smaller pair in the original style I wanted and realised that they fitted, I went to approach her and another member of staff who had appeared out of the stockroom to purchase the shoes. I was subsequently ignored whilst she commented to her colleague that “I’ve gone through all of this with her already..,” referring to the shoes in my hand which she assumed didn’t fit. All in all the frosty attitude of the sales assistant was matched only by the permanently open automatic doors letting freezing air into the department store and making my shopping experience all the more memorable. The shoes were cute though and a good price in the sales, that’s the only reason it’s not a one star review.

Awful staff at the beauty counter at Chanel! Never saw such uninterested and rude staff. They couldn't be bothered to be polite or thank customers for purchases. They think its Christmas and takings are going to be high anyway. But, ladies, the festive season comes and goes, and the negative experience will bounce back later in the year. Will go to Cheadle next time, best staff there!
