This is the place to take Jamaica train know as Air train to the JFK Terminals. The train will take you through Jamaica Train station to the following stations; 1st stop is Federal Circle, next is Terminal 1 through all airline Terminals through 8. My stop is going to be at Terminal 4 so I wouldn't be writing more than I have learnt in recent or past trips. Once you get to the Jamaica Station, you need a metro card to access the train, the regular is $15.50 which will be enough for a two trips to and from. Each gate pass is charged at $7.25 you can use your credit or debit card and or cash to make a purchase of the metro card in order to get into the Air train. If you don't understand, it's easy to request any staff or officers you see around for assistance, they will be more than willing to support you to get your metro card. Once you get into the air train, just look up the from inside the train, you will see a description written JFK Airline Directory, it will show you the Terminals where your airline is and you also need to check your traveling tickets to ensure that you are stopping over at your appropriate airline terminal. JFK is a very big airport and messing around your Terminals. It's good to ask questions If you seems confused, New York have lots of responsible officers who will be willing to support you and ensure you get to your destination without any stress. Do have a safe journey.

This place runs like a well-oiled piece of machinery. Also, if you are at Jamaica station on the LIRR, waiting downstairs or on the platforms or upstairs, you will notice there are no bathrooms. Just take the stairs or the elevator to the top level and walk towards the AirTrain building. As soon as you walk in you will notice restaurants, a deli, a bar that might technically be a sports bar, as I saw a big flat screen TV on the wall. Then there are escalators and stairs down to the street level outside. If you keep walking straight ahead you will come to turn styles that you have to pay to go through to access the JFK AirTrain. But as you are approaching those turnstiles, just before you get there on the right hand side there are very modern men's and women's bathrooms. The ladies are on the left and the men are on the right. Both sides are wheelchair accessible. All of the area, the restaurant the deli, the bar and the bathroom as well as all the stairs and escalators were remarkably well maintained, clean and orderly.

I love public transport. But New York has the craziest system. You arrive from JFK on the air train but you have to buy a metro card to get out of the station. You can't tap out with your credit card. You have to buy a metro card. Then if you want to get down town you have to go on the LONG ISLAND RAILROAD. they don't take metro! What's going on guys. You put a man on the moon :)

Airtrain is the worst transit service in NYC. It's expensive, it doesn't support OMNY, you can't tap your credit card here, it runs infrequently, it requires a long walk from the subway, and people get really backed up at the lines for the metrocards and the gates to exit. At least if you take the city bus to the Airtrain further south, it's free.

Really love this station! It is very sanitary, well lit and the directions are easy to understand. The air train price is a bit steep so a round trip to JFK is about $16. That is a lot and comparable to just take an Uber if there will be more than one person taking the trip. The Airtrain is on time and the first stop is terminal 8. You can take a shuttle to other terminals.

A very big station. Not impressive in design but plenty of space. Fairly easy to find where to go. Noted there is only one machine for the airport train to use debit/ credit cards. Queues were a little long for the airport tickets. Staff were extremely helpful.

The AirTrain is a fairly quick and convenient way to get out of the JFK airport area and get to connections into other areas of NYC. You get to pass through the South Richmond neighborhood of Queens. Not an unpleasant experience at all. However, buying Metro Cards is a real hassle. The machines are archaic and confusing to use, and the the lines are horrendous. Really poor system.

For the air train jfk station, the mezzanine is quite nice and is pretty secure. Now let’s get on to the mess known as the air train. The air train is cool with serving as an automatic train from Jamaica to jfk terminals, and the underrated feature of platform screen doors which unfortunately the MTA doesn’t have (yet). As of November 2023, OMNY is now accepting air train fares which are a huge W for air train but wait speaking of the fare, Ain’t NO WAY ITS $8.25!!! THAT IS ABSOLUTELY ABSURD A TRAIN THAT SMALL COSTS THAT MUCH!! And the worst part is after the ride, you still have to pay for either the LIRR or the Subway. Lirr is $7 (weekdays between 6-9:30 AM and 4:15-8PM) and $5 otherwise for CITY TRAVEL ONLY. For Long Island service, check mtatraintime app. The Subway is $2.90 and so are the local buses. To top it even more, I heard in 2024, AIR train is raising its price AGAIN to $8.50. Someone needs to stop letting the corruption flow into the crucial line like please.
