Although I went it multiple times, this is my first reviewing it. Very nice place and lots of fun there. Especially like the place between De Young and California Academy of Science. There are 4 fountains there and lots of chairs for you to rest. The views are spectacular!

Golden Gate Park is a beautiful and complete urban park in the city of San Francisco, CA, located in an area close to the world famous gate of the same name, just separated by the Richmond neighborhood to the north. This Park is surrounded by the city and has an incredible green area that surrounds various equipment such as tennis courts, museums, polo field, football fields, trails, inner lake, picnic areas, etc. and is one of the most sought after places. for relaxation and the practice of sports by the local population. The Park has a total area of 4.12 km² with avenues crossing its areas, all surrounded by an enormous amount and variety of beautiful trees. As a curiosity, in the area next to the beach there is a place where a herd of American buffaloes live, since 1894! All in all, a great option for a city tour, and I recommend it. Lots to see here and plenty of free 2hr parking available. Many trails for running or a nice walk. Several gardens to see (some charge a small entrance fee). Great place for group activities.

SO much to see and do. We hiked around for miles and went way up to the top of the hill for great views of the city and park. Lots of the gardens charge a fee to see but honestly we were busy enough seeing all sorts of other things in the park for free. Definitely plan to spend more time in the park than what you think you will, and bring your walking shoes!

San Francisco’s iconic city park is truly one of my favorite things about living in the city. It’s huge and fully of little, hidden treasures! I go walking here at least twice a week and I’m constantly finding new things.

This park is absolutely beautiful especially if you enjoy running or hiking.. It has a lake within the park the park you can take a boat and go around it. It has a hiking trail that goes way up to the top and then you see a stream going from the top to the bottom beautiful full. If I lived there I would be there every day . Perfect place for dogs to go running with. One place I would visit for sure if I were you I love love it.

Incredible park with so much to offer! You can spends hours in the park and come out feeling like you've only scratched the surface, which is great because you definitely have to go here a dozen different times to truly comprehend the size and all the great things you can see and do here. Did I mention most of it is free!?

I highly recommend. It's a nice place to go with nature, away from the busy city for a bit. There's a lot to do, and a lot to see. If you want to rent a bike, I suggest just rent with citywide biking which is $8 an hour and located right at the front of the park. FYI there are some major construction going on, or they are getting ready for some sort of the event, so a lot of the bike routes were blocked. Keep that in mind when biking around. Overall it was gorgeous and a nice place to spend the day

This is an incredibly huge park containing multiple lakes, meadows, gardens, sport fields, museums, and many other facilities, with very fresh air and beautiful views. It is a perfect place for hiking, jogging, cycling, walking dog, picnic, soccer, and many other family recreational activities. In summary, I highly recommend this beautiful place!

This is my favorite park ever. It’s so beautiful and big, you can skate, bike, scoot, whatever you want. Perfect for a picnic, date, or just spend the day on a sunny day. A must see SF attraction.

This is an awesome park in every respect. You really need to watch the sunset here behind the bridge. It is worth the wait. The morning fog if not too dense is great as well. It is a clean safe place to relax and escape the city for quiet nature time. You will always remember time spent here while visiting San Francisco, California.

this place is HUGE! theres so many things to do. you can go to multiple garden, theres a soccer field, eat some street vendor, museum etc. Some of the places has fee (museum, some garden) but going in is free, you can definitely go picnic here! Dont expect to be able to walk the whole park as its huge huge. biking or a car is preferred. Parking is free but HARD TO FIND. typically theres a lot of available parking around Strawberry Hill area (around the crowded area)

If you decide to visit the park. It could take you up to 2 days and maybe 3. I was there for 2 days and I was not able to see it all. You can picnic. You can hike, you can bike ride. Check out the Japanese tea garden have some warm tea. While you check out the surroundings that are just amazing. Go to the botanical garden. Where you're able to picnic, read a book. Relax enjoy the silence, peace. Go for a bike ride or a walk. Have fun with nature. Check out the soccer fields, the horse stables. There is just so much to do and not enough time!!

I have never been someplace like Golden Gate Park. It smelled so green, and had fountains amidst sitting areas. I went to only a portion of the park and spent 7 hours there. Alongside the green grounds are gardens and museums, while the perimeter is ringed with busy city streets. When you get to the edges of the park it is sort of surreal. The park was clean and very walkable. Many people were out enjoying themselves and I loved to be one of them!

Golden Gate Park is a huge verdant space for art lovers, fitness fiends, garden aficionados and more! This week the event for people in the know is Flower Piano, an outdoor event at the San Francisco Botanical Gardens! 9 pianos scattered throughout the 55 acres. Each piano either has a scheduled performer or emerging talent from the Conservatory of Music and other music school. Sunday (9/19/21) was a huge hit!

This is a beautiful park. I went here while visiting San Francisco and was satisfied with my experience. This park has plenty of lush greenery, large trees, a polo field, a lake, and a windmill that was formerly used to irrigate the park with water from an underground reservoir. I walked from Ocean Beach to this windmill, which only took a few minutes. This park has a road turned into a pedestrianized zone going through the park, giving people plenty of space to roam around. I gave this park five star because it has some beautiful scenery and a cool windmill.

This is a huge park! So beautiful but we could only explore one third of it by foot and we started the day pretty early. I highly recommend to split the visit into two days at least as there is so much to explore. Renting a bike is also a good idea. There were so many trails and gardens that it was hard to choose the direction.Everything was so green and it was pleasant to be outside for the entire day.

One of the great city parks. Vast in size and so many things to see and do—there’s a boating lake, art and science museums, windmills, cycle paths, a 9-hole golf course, botanical gardens and a conservatory, and now a Ferris wheel. Or you can do none of those things and just hang out on the many meadows

Great place to spend the day. Two museums, a ferris wheel, botanical garden, live music playing, food trucks and stands, and the Japanese tea garden, to visit. The park is also great for bringing your dogs, picnics, or taking a stroll. Great ambiance and good vibes 😎; bathrooms and parking available too.

It was amazing to go here! The gardens were honestly beautiful. No complaints whatsoever. If you’re in the Bay Area you HAVE to visit. I added some photos I took in the Japanese Tea Gardens.

Golden Gate Park is a beautiful and expansive park that offers something for everyone. Whether you're looking for a quiet place to relax or an active spot for outdoor activities, this park has it all. The park is well-maintained and features plenty of walking and biking paths, as well as a variety of gardens and museums. The staff is friendly and helpful, and there are plenty of facilities and amenities available. If you're looking for a great place to spend the day in San Francisco, Golden Gate Park is definitely worth a visit. It's a wonderful oasis in the midst of the city and a great way to enjoy the outdoors.

Looping through whole park takes 2-3 hours of walk. East part (Japanese garden, botanical garden, strawberry hill) is more city centric style, most people visit there with a nice afternoon with family and friends; west part with 2 gigantic windmills is more humid and less crowded. Similar size as New York's central park.

Its a beautiful big park. I ate hot dogs from the street vendor near the amphitheater. Went to see the Ansel Adams exhibit, plus a day in the rest of art museum. Heard some great music and people in the park. It's a great way to relax and enjoy a musical afternoon in SF with family, friends, or solo.

Put this down on your list of things to do while in SF. Attractions include: Conservatory of Flowers, Japanese Tea Garden, the Botanical Gardens, and a lot of green areas to relax or have a picnic. Food trucks also frequent this park. Great place to ride bikes and jog.

Amazing. A real green oasis within San Francisco. It's not only very long but it also has a lot.of stuff to offer inside, de Young museum, Japanese tea garden, the botanical garden, science academy museum. Some of these places require payment but the vast majority is free. Amazing views over the city.

I highly recommend visiting! I explore the area on my roller blades and I often visit the conservatory of flowers to check out the wildlife. There's lots of open spaces, green grass, woods, wildlife, areas to skate and museums to explore. Also, I love to people watch and enjoy a Saturday morning here. Super fun place to visit on a date or if you feel like walking around a really big park.

Beautiful and amazing park. So many things to see like a Japanese garden, boat riding, a small waterfall, a pagoda, lots of unique trees and flowers and shrubs. There are bathrooms. Plenty of parking everywhere. And walking and jogging on paved roads is abundant. Biking is great also.. Very nice getaway from the city of SF but right in SF so a perfect way to get some Sun and exercise. A polo field also… and so much more.

Golden Gate Park is an amazing mix of natural and historical. It's a perfect green space in an otherwise incredibly dense city. The museums here are the cities best featuring science and art. You absolutely must arrive early or else risk not finding parking and being stuck in traffic for an eternity.

Golden gate Park is an absolute must visit location if you are ever in San Francisco. This park is 150 acres larger than Central Park in New York City. There are so many wonderful free things to do in this park. Street parking is free. Some of the larger tourist attractions do you have nearby garages which you pay to park. However, if you are willing to walk a little ways you are able to find free street parking for up to 4 hours. Places I recommend visiting are the California academy of sciences, the Japanese tea gardens, and the large glass greenhouse. They are free children's playgrounds and plenty of picnic areas and grassy areas to run. The AIDS memorial Grove is just stunning. There are buffaloes to see. So much to do. Spend a day here at Golden gate Park. And, if you want to Walk over or drive over Golden gate Bridge, it is just a short drive down the road.

This is the largest park I have been to in the Bay Area. This is like a size of a regional park, but at the same time, it somehow is because of scenic nature is here. This park has attractions, gardens, sport fields, and museums. It’s really a good place for people to visit especially for joggers and bikers since there are many of them. Museums and even some gardens may require you to pay for admissions like the San Francisco Botanic Garden, but you don’t really need to go to these places to enjoy your time here. I haven’t go to every place here since the park is huge and I can get tired overtime since my feet hurt. If you are planning a visit here especially if you live outside of SF, then I recommend you coming in at an early morning since the sun drops really soon. Also, if you are hungry in the park, there are food vendors especially at the Rideout Fountain. There are many parking spaces inside the park and am quite surprised that there weren’t many cars. You can also street park too, but just be aware of signs. I am planning to come back here soon, because I want to have opportunities to go to new places even ones that require an admission for entries. This is a really good park to relax and have fun!

Went here for a walk during my one year anniversary, beautiful giant park with wonderful flowers, we both wished we brought our dogs with us. Beautiful place to walk through at least once!

There are some areas of SF that we’re far from beautiful, but the Golden Gate Park was not one of those places. If you like to get away from the dense city streets, and get some fresh air, this park is exactly what you’re looking for. It’s lively, but not crowded in an unpleasant way, and there are so many things to do within the park. Definitely swing by the Japanese Tea Garden while you’re in there.

My friend and I stopped here on vacation and it was great! The park is massive, beautiful and there’s lots to do and see. You will need a lot of time (most of the day) to see it. They have live music, a ferris wheel, the Japanese Tea Garden and we even walked by some free events going on that seemed really fun! This is a great place for families too since nothing here is too expensive and there’s plenty of spots to sit and rest if you need to.

Awesome park, lots of green space. Got to meet others from out of town as well. Tons going on, a roller skating area as well. Volley ball courts, a garden. Live music when I went. All in all a good experience to enjoy the outdoors.

  • 5/5 Balaji G. 2 years ago on Google
This park is very near the Golden gate bridge. It is a huge park from where you can view sunsets with the city houses and the bay in the foreground. There is a trail which starts from the California Academy of Sciences, the botanical garden and the Japanese tea garden. The trail goes around a lake and goes upwards to a picnic area where you can get beautiful panoramic sunset views. There is paid parking in the California academy of sciences or roadside parking along the trail. The entry to the park is free. In winter all entries to the gardens are closed by 5 pm. Its a beautiful way to spend a peaceful evening in SFO.

The hotel has a lot of nice facilities: generous breakfast, patio with chairs outside, a gym and pool + it is conveniently located. We just didn't sleep well because there was a lot of noise from our neighbors and the walls are like paper: very thin, not cancelling any noise. The pool didn't look well maintained and the hot tub was green, so we didn't go.

  • 5/5 AJJ 2 years ago on Google
We could cover only a portion of the park. We came across few lakes inside and they were all beautiful. Many beautiful flowering plants and wide variety of trees to be found inside. Definitely visiting again to explore other popular places inside.

  • 4/5 Arti J. 2 years ago on Google
We did the Golden Gate Park loop trail, which is around 8 miles easy level hike. Golden gate park is one of the best places to see spring bloom in the bay area. Parking is available in multiple places around, so check before you go. Restrooms and water taps are available throughout the park. Park is a crowded and happening place, but it is very big, so we did not face problems in maintaining social distance. We took 3hrs to complete the hike as we took many breaks to enjoy flowers. We saw California Poppies, roses, Fuchsias, Dogwoods, Azaleas, Rhododendrons, and many more different types of flowers. The whole trail is paved and stroller-friendly in case you decide on getting a stroller. We enjoyed the Spring bloom.
