Beautiful scenic bridge. I came in January so it was a little breezy, a light jacket would be perfect. I saw this bridge from so many different angles, unintentionally, and it was breathtaking each time I saw it. There are many paths to walk/bike, and even with hundreds of people around, you could still enjoy the area without feeling crowded. I didn't walk the bridge because I didn't have enough time to do so but there is a walking path if you're interested.

We loved our walk over the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a nice walk and the bridge is amazing. There are many vantage points all around the bridge to get amazing views. You get amazing views from Baker Beach and Vista Point of the bridge.

The cliffs were a great scenic view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Definitely worth the few minutes extra drive to get up to the top. Got some great pics. I’ve wanted to see the Golden Gate Bridge my whole life and was glad I was able to take a trip to see it with my own eyes. Great view of Alcatraz Prison too. Worth the trip to San Francisco for this alone.

Being on the bridge is an awesome experience. You need to experience it to realize how big the bridge is. The pictures don't show how large it really is. We were there from day to night and were amazed the whole time. We walked half way through and saw the incredible view from the city. We also saw some sea lions swimming in the bay. It is a beautiful bridge. The Golden Gate Bridge.

Awesome bridge to walk and experience the wind from the Pacific ocean. Good view of city. Great view of water, islands, boats. Good markings along the walk path. Dedicated lines for bikes. Information about the bridge in many places. Only downside is the vehicle passing makes lot of noise. Good transit options to reach there and returning. Place to park, drop off from taxis. Overall a great experience walking along the bridge. A must visit attraction in San Francisco.

Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most breathtaking scenic spots in the world. You can see the bridge from a variety of places. Overlooking the bay from the other side offers the best views. Few architectural feats are as iconic as this bridge. The bridge is an excellent place for taking pictures. It is much larger than it appears in the photos. You experience the ocean's wind as you walk along the bridge. Depending on the time of year and weather conditions, it is a very different experience.

Gold Gate Bridge is one of the most beautiful bridges in the world. I have seen so many bridges in the United States and other countries. I don't have the same feeling as the Golden Gate Bridge. The Golden Gate Bridge is not only a bridge. It shows the American dream in San Francisco from many years ago until now. The bridge is beautiful!

Great place for a walk, take pictures, and to enjoy the moment. We were able to find free parking by searching "Golden gate bridge parking". Just be aware that they might be full but the other side could be empty. We got there on a Sunday afternoon and it was not too busy. Also there were a lot of street vendors that took up parking spaces. That is what we did by going to the other side to find a parking spot. From the parking lot we were able to walk across and back on the bridge. Great views even though the weather was cloudy and rainy.

When I left Seven feather resort in Oregon, I put into Google maps the Golden Gate Bridge parking and Google maps lead me straight to the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge I was able to park right at the bridge. Easy parking was free. There are bathrooms. It appears to have wheelchair accessible I walked straight onto the bridge. It was the best experience ever. I could see where in tourist season parking might be an issue but I had no issue. You get to see full view of the city, Alcatraz, and the open ocean. It was an amazing experience. I encourage anybody who has ability to walk to Golden Gate Bridge to do it. I hope to return one day again.

Essential on any visit to San Francisco. It’s so beautiful and never gets old. Walking across the Bridge is so much more of an experience than driving but I’ll take either any day! If you walk, bring your jacket and dress warm because the wind can drop the temperature pretty quickly. It’s about a 30 minute walk in each direction. Depending on your speed it’s about 2.5 minutes of bliss. If you can catch the sunset you won’t regret it. You can see the beauty of San Francisco and Alcatraz. Highly recommended.

What a beautiful bridge! It’s spectacular and mesmerising to be here and to just look at it. The blue ocean perfectly contrasting the red colour of the bridge and the smell of salt in the air and the sound of seagulls. You would just feel so peaceful and relaxed. The area is filled with a lot of tourists and cyclists. It is a must see site if you are in San Francisco.

Golden Gate Bridge stands as a testament to incredible engineering and architectural beauty. Every visit to this iconic structure feels like witnessing a masterpiece of human creativity. Its majestic presence against the backdrop of the San Francisco Bay never fails to amaze. Traffic on the bridge is quite unpredictable - it's either bustling with activity or surprisingly serene, but rarely anything in between. This adds a unique dynamic to each visit. Whether you're driving across it or simply observing, the bridge always presents a different mood. Walking across the Golden Gate Bridge is an experience in itself. The stroll offers a different perspective of the bridge’s grandeur, complemented by the stunning views of the surrounding waters and skyline. The pathway is accommodating and also popular among cyclists, adding a lively energy to the bridge. For those looking to appreciate the bridge from a distance, the Vista Point offers an unparalleled vantage point. Here, you can take in the full splendor of the bridge along with the breathtaking views of the bay. Another great option is the Discovery Center, which provides not just great views but also educational insights into the bridge's history and significance.

Absolutely beautiful day. Little chilly yet beautiful. We parked down below under the bridge and even got to see a seal hanging out in the water. Plenty of parking and a nice area to walk around and stretch out your legs if needed as well as a restroom for just in case.

If you haven’t seen, been to, and walked across the Golden Gate Bridge in a while, do so now or as soon as you can. It is easily a crown jewel of America’s great age of infrastructure. Elegant, beautiful and deeply functional (what would Marin County and other commuters do without it?), it is that rare human artifact that contributes to the aesthetic beauty of its already stunning surroundings rather than detracting from them. What the divers had to do to prepare the rock floor of the bay for subsequent construction is alone worthy of this commentary. Go visit!

The Golden Gate Bridge: A Majestic Icon The Golden Gate Bridge, an architectural marvel nestled in the heart of San Francisco, stands as an enduring symbol of human innovation and ingenuity. Spanning the gap between the city and the Marin Headlands, this crimson-hued suspension bridge has captured the hearts of millions, both locals and tourists alike, for nearly nine decades. One cannot help but be awestruck by the sheer grandeur of the Golden Gate Bridge. Its iconic Art Deco towers rise 746 feet above the churning waters of the San Francisco Bay, creating an imposing yet graceful silhouette against the backdrop of the fog-shrouded bay area. The bridge's distinctive "International Orange" color is as much a part of its identity as its towering presence, and it seems to glow in various shades depending on the time of day and the whims of the ever-changing San Francisco weather. Beyond its aesthetic allure, the Golden Gate Bridge serves as a vital lifeline for the city. Connecting San Francisco to Marin County, it offers a breathtaking commute for thousands of commuters each day. Whether you're driving across, cycling along its dedicated lanes, or simply strolling on the pedestrian walkways, the bridge provides an unrivaled perspective of the cityscape, the bay, and the Pacific Ocean beyond. The Golden Gate Bridge's impact extends beyond its physical presence. It has inspired countless works of art, literature, and film, making it a cultural touchstone for the entire world. Its appearance in movies like "Vertigo" and "San Andreas" has further solidified its status as an iconic landmark. Additionally, the bridge serves as a testament to human resilience, having withstood earthquakes and inclement weather over the years. In conclusion, the Golden Gate Bridge stands as an indomitable symbol of San Francisco and human achievement. Its timeless beauty, unmatched functionality, and profound cultural significance make it a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the Bay Area. Whether you're gazing upon it from afar or crossing its storied span, the Golden Gate Bridge never fails to evoke a sense of wonder and appreciation for the power of human innovation.

This bridge is one of humanity’s most iconic architectural feats. There’s a certain magic to it that continuously keeps my fascination. It’s a gem from every angle, and there are quite a few angles. Baker Beach, Marina Harbor, Fort Baker, Marin Headlands, the list goes on. The most visceral experience though is either driving or walking over the bridge, which you can do for free on foot and only ~$8.50 by car (if you plan to drive back into San Francisco). The bridge is essentially a functional logo for San Francisco, so you have to appreciate it in some way if you’re in town.

Certainly, a visit to the state of San Francisco cannot be completed without visiting this beautiful place with a wonderful view, and seeing this wonderful bridge with unique technology and a special character. I recommend visiting this place. You will feel a special feeling when you see a red bridge, a cloudy sky, blue water, and beautiful people.

Suspension bridge spanning 1.7 mikes long and 90 feet wide. It is named one of the 7 modern wonders of the world. It is the most photographed bridge in the world. Sunset view can best be seen from Fort Point. There are multiple lookouts and points to get amazing views of the bridge. Taking a dinner cruise is also a great way to get up close shots.

Everyone knows this bridge, but was my first time going there, quite a pretty spot. We went to both sides of the bridge, the right side (looking out the bay) you have nice view of the bridge road and vertical shots of the bridge, but can't see much of the bridge expanse. However parking there is free. The left side has the more common full expanse of the bridge for nice horizontal views of it. However it costs to park. Some people park on the right side and walk across the full length of the bridge. Wish we could have stayed longer and explored it more but we arrived right around sunset and then head to move on to LA, but definitely worth a stop for anyone in the area.

Whether you are visiting San Francisco or live in the bay area, there is nothing like a morning walk in the golden gate bridge. It's a one of a kind experience. Find a warm day and get lucky to have no fog on the bridge. Enjoy the views, the beauty of mountains and the vast mostly friendly and colorful ocean. Experience the feeling of mammoth bridge's suspension ropes and soak in the history of suspension bridges. If you are lucky, you can find a place to park at the Vista point across the bridge. If not, drive up to Alexander Ave exit on 101N and make a left to park on the other side of the bridge. You may want to be patient and wait to find a parking spot as that lot is small but many visitors usually stay only for a short time. Then walk under the bridge and feel the steel rumblings as non stop rush of vehicles above the bridge play music underneath. Walk a distance of 1.75 miles to the end of the bridge. Take photos and enjoy the views of vast waters and the Alcatraz islands and head back for another distance of 1.75 miles. Walking to and from should be an hour or so. Then drive to Sausalito for a lovely lunch at one of the many seafood restaurants or Spinnaker if you are lucky to get reservations. Enjoy the bridge. It's worth it

If not the most, then one of the most iconic and recognizable landmarks of San Francisco. There are lots of view point on both sides of the bridge. Even the driving on the bridge itself is also a thrilling experience. If you are ever in the Bay Area for site-seeing and if you do not visit this, the your whole tour would go in vain. Whenever you are there, all that you need to do is aim your phone towards the bridge and you would have an amazing photo.

This is one of the most photographed bridges for a reason. I would highly recommend exploring the area. There are a lot of places to take in how beautiful this bridge really is! There are walking and biking lanes on the bridge, so there are a few ways to cross it. There are also a few different parking lots offering different vantage points.

One of the coolest walks I ever did anywhere in the world was walking across the Golden Gate Bridge. If you haven’t done this before, I suggest watching a YouTube documentary on the bridge before you go. It’s well worth the time! If you’re lucky, it will be a little foggy the day you go. Really adds for dramatic visuals and photo ops. Make a day of it and drive to Vista Point which overlooks San Francisco Bay. It’s 1.7 miles across the bridge and plenty of places to stop and take great pics along the way. Enjoy!

I visited the Golden Gate Bridge in September 2023, and it was an unforgettable experience. The iconic red-orange suspension bridge against the backdrop of the San Francisco Bay is even more breathtaking in person. The view from the bridge was incredible, and I couldn't have asked for better weather. It's a must-see landmark, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Francisco.

This is possibly one of the rarest man made places which doesn't need any review/recommendation. Every one would like to visit the place at least once. Since childhood I wanted to visit it and ultimately in December 2023, I could fulfill this desire of mine. The 1 mile wide suspension bridge connects San Francisco bay and the Pacific Ocean and you could also see pedestrians and the cyclists enjoying the abundance of natural beauty surrounding it. I must say that it has not lost its age old Glory in spite of many engineering wonders that have come up after its construction. I could also see many padlocks on the chain like fence near the bridge.

The trip to the Golden Gate Bridge was amazing! The iconic red-orange structure against the blue sky was breathtaking. Walking along the bridge offered stunning views of San Francisco and the bay. The engineering marvel of the Golden Gate Bridge became even more impressive as I learned about its history and construction at the visitor center. The art deco elements and the careful consideration of every aspect of its design added layers of appreciation for this iconic landmark. Whether you're a tourist or a local, a visit to the Golden Gate Bridge is a must. The combination of natural beauty, architectural brilliance, and historical significance makes it an unforgettable destination.

Absolutely stunning in real life - I was not expecting to be so amazed! Would love to visit on a blue-sky, sunny day, however the fog provided a very dramatic and impressive backdrop. The bridge has been a highlight of this trip to SF. There is a lovely gift shop (open today) and cafe (closed today) and the many vantage points are easily accessible by foot, with a buggy/pram or in a wheelchair. There is some parking but we travelled by bus there and back which was very easy.

Its the Golden Gate Bridge, what more can I say? This is, in my opinion, the most iconic place to visit in San Francisco. I personally walked the bridge span without problem, but there are spots to stop on each side to visit without having to walk the entire bridge if you choose not to. Beautiful views from both sides! Definitely plan a visit.

I’ve sailed under the bridge many times however on my latest visit I had to explore the park and view the bridge from street level. The views of the Pacific Ocean are breathtaking. There are many old military bunkers along the trails. Very cool to walk on and around. Lots of graffiti. Which I enjoyed the look it gave. Not to mention how amazing the air smells from all of the eucalyptus trees. Lots of free state parking. Can make this a fast or long visit depending on how many other activities you have planned.

You always see the golden gate bridge online or in movies/shows, but there was something so special about seeing it in real life. It was the first activity we did when we arrived in San Francisco and got our rental car. Driving down the bridge blasting Save Me, San Francisco by train was so fun! On the ither side of the bridge, there was a great place to park (first right turn) and get out to walk on the bridge as well.

I think that this golden gate beach is one of the most under rated Golden Gate Bridge viewing spot, it’s so near the palace of fine art and near crissy field, when I got there, the beach is almost empty on a weekday afternoon, cool breeze, a little fog over the bridge, it’s super comfortable. Mando shot? Definitely, loving this bridge from the plane all the way till the ground If you enjoyed my review, leave a 👍🏻

Okay, yes, it looks amazing. However, walking across it is a rough experience. Not enough space, traffic extremely close, bikes barging past, security minicars squeezing by, it's a stressful experience! I'd recommend taking photos from either end, and walking across only if you actually need to!

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the one-mile-wide strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the U.S. city of San Francisco, California—the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula—to Marin County, carrying both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco and California. It was initially designed by engineer Joseph Strauss in 1917. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. The bridge is 1.7 miles (2.7 km) long, and its towers are 746 feet (227 m) tall. The bridge's two main cables are each 2.7 inches (69 mm) in diameter and contain 83,500 wires. The bridge's deck is 75 feet (23 m) wide and carries six lanes of traffic, as well as a pedestrian and bicycle path. The Golden Gate Bridge was opened to traffic on May 28, 1937. It was the longest suspension bridge in the world until the completion of the Bayonne Bridge in 1938. The bridge is a popular tourist destination and is visited by millions of people each year. It can be crossed by car, bike, or foot. There are also several tour companies that offer boat tours of the bridge.

San Francisco’s most iconic bridge. If you visit on a windy day, and there are many such days, you’ll notice that the bridge makes an almost whistle sound as the wind passes through it. If you’re a tourist, one of my favorite day trips is to rent a bicycle in the Marina and ride it across this bridge to Sausalito and take the ferry back. Definitely stop while you’re crossing the bridge to take pictures.

This is one of the famous place connect with war history. The master engineering master piece . Well planned history . Touch it feel it . World famous . Signature view point . The Golden Gate Bridge, an iconic symbol of San Francisco, not only boasts breathtaking views but also offers an array of culinary delights. Nestled within its vicinity are various food vendors and restaurants catering to both locals and tourists. The diversity of food options is a notable feature, ranging from classic San Francisco sourdough bread to gourmet seafood dishes. Visitors can indulge in freshly caught fish and chips or savor the rich flavors of clam chowder served in sourdough bread bowls. The blend of traditional and innovative cuisine provides a satisfying culinary experience against the backdrop of the majestic bridge. For those seeking a quick bite, food trucks along the waterfront offer a variety of street food options. Overall, the Golden Gate Bridge not only captivates with its architectural grandeur but also satisfies the palate with a range of delicious and diverse dining options.

Good it was greatThe Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge that crosses over the San Francisco Bay, going from San Francisco to Marin County, in the U.S. state of California. It was opened for use in 1937. When the bridge was finished, its length of 9,266 ft (2824 m) made it the longest bridge in the world. It carries U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1. There is also a footpath for people and bicycles.

Under construction but still nice. I was on the "wrong side" this time. Usually I come up and from the other side the view is nicer. This time I was coming down and there is a toll (about $6) when you come down the 101 but this is the last exit before paying the toll if you want to turn back. I just went through the bridge which is a nice scenic drive too if you haven't done it.

Beautiful bridge. Worth seeing. If you’re visiting for the first time, please make sure you wear warm clothes. It’s super cold and windy in San Francisco. You can see Alcatraz prison from the bridge. It was very cool. Did not get to do a tour of the prison but I will next time I’m there.

I recently visited the bridge again this time walking across the bridge. Getting to the parking lot after coming off the freeway was the only complicated part dues to a road block. Once we navigated our way around that we were back on track. The parking lot was not full. (A tip about parking) it's very windy so beware of accidental door dings and what not. The parking lot has great potential as well for great photos even before you get to the bridge. For me walking the bridge was exhilarating. We went on an absolutely clear day. You could see Fort Baker, Treasure Island, Alcatraz, Sausalito Bay and the Bay Bridge clearly. At times it was windy but there were times when there was no wind and it felt exhilarating. This day only one side was open to the public. You had bikes coming and going. Everyone was able to navigate around each nicely. Riders used their bells to alert of passing by. Walking across the bridge was fantastic and it left me with amazing energy when it was over. I'm so glad I had this opportunity. I got very lucky with the clear day. Everything looks beautiful from the bridge

A visit to the Amazing city of San Francisco is incomplete without making your steps to this heritage iconic tourist attraction The mighty Golden Bridge. The Bridge spans through a super broad highway and has dedicated paths for cycling-walking on both of its sides. The Bridge almost remains full of visitors throughout the year while morning and evening being the most favourite times for the Bridge area explorations.

This an American icon and well worth the visit. Up close, you can learn the history, see the construction, hike the area, and enjoy spectacular views of the bay area. It is often foggy in summer, but still worth it. You might spot whales in the water if you're lucky.

The bridge itself is magnificent. San Francisco not so much. Perhaps if the stench of the city wasn't quite so yucky it would have been much better. I'm sure it's not that way for the locals, but on that day the smell was of offal, rotting fish and other things. For someone else it could be an adventure, just not for me.

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km) strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the U.S. city of San Francisco, California—the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula—to Marin County, carrying both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco and California. It was initially designed by engineer Joseph Strauss in 1917. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.[7]

Always breathtaking to cross. The Vista Point exit on the northside immediately after you cross is a must stop. The view from the 24 hr rest stop is unbelievable. When I was there, the sun was just about to set, and there were hundreds of sailboats in the bay, and the dog was starting to roll in over or thru the bridge towers. Simply beautiful. We actually spent the night in this 24 hrs rest stop and enjoyed the view in the morning with a cup of coffee. Definitely a great experience crossing the bridge and spending time looking at it from the Vista Point on the northside.

The former elevated approach to the Golden Gate Bridge through the San Francisco Presidio, known as Doyle Drive, dated to 1933 and was named after Frank P. Doyle, President and son of the founder of the Exchange Bank in Santa Rosa, and the man who, more than any other person, made it possible to build the Golden Gate Bridge.[90] The highway carried about 91,000 vehicles each weekday between downtown San Francisco and the North Bayand points north

A must see when visiting San Francisco. Walking on it is a delight. It is very windy so hold on to hats and any loose items. There is a nice walking path which is shared with bicyclist. The views are phenomenal. A city with a beautiful skyline.

Always a golden experience. In one of our recent trips, the golden gate was covered with fog and it peeked out of the clouds randomly. A great experience at battery Spencer point witnessing this. The next time it was wonderful and clear. Great views from Golden gate postcard viewpoint near the welcome center.

If you are in San Francisco, it would be a tragedy to not see the Golden Gate Bridge. It'd be similar to being in Egypt and not seeing the Pyramids - at least similarly iconic. My guess is that if you're taking a trip to SF, you're likely planning seeing the Golden Gate Bridge at some point. Smart decision! There are cool views of it from all around the city.

  • 5/5 Dani H. 2 years ago on Google
Great bike ride but definitely a work out. The bridge appears flat but actually has a slight ramp up to the centre and then down so be aware of that. Beautiful views and very enjoyable!

What an amazing, impressive, beautiful, jaw dropping view this has. The Golden Gate Bridge is a global icon! While I was there, I witnessed someone getting purposed to, so I offered to take pictures for them. What a magical moment. When I first got there it was a tiny bit foggy, but still was beautiful.

The iconic San Francisco bridge that you must never miss when in town. It's a different experience at different times of the year and weather conditions. So it's not enough just to see it once. You can walk or bike across the bridge as well as drive on it. When you do walk look down carefully as you might spot some marine mammals that are native to the area. I recommend parking up the road rather than in the south side viewing area. And wear something warm no matter the season.

  • 4/5 Tookie W. 1 year ago on Google
I love the view and windy breeze, it’s relaxing and peaceful. You might need a hoodie or small jacket while being there. The cafe coffee was very good and also have a good view of the bridge. I actually walked on the bridge and saw a better view. The parking is free but, it’s small. Come check it out.

The Golden Gate Bridge is an engineering marvel and a true icon of San Francisco. It's not only a stunning sight to behold, but also an experience that leaves a lasting impression on all who visit. First and foremost, the views from the bridge are absolutely breathtaking. Whether you're driving across, biking, or walking, you'll be treated to panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay, the city skyline, and the surrounding hills. The views alone are worth the visit. But the bridge itself is equally impressive. The massive steel structure spans 1.7 miles across the Golden Gate strait, and the art deco design is both elegant and timeless. It's hard not to be in awe of the sheer size and scale of the bridge. What's more, the Golden Gate Bridge has a rich history and cultural significance. It's been the backdrop for countless movies and photographs, and has become a symbol of San Francisco and the United States as a whole. Overall, the Golden Gate Bridge is an absolute must-visit for anyone traveling to San Francisco. It's a true testament to human ingenuity and a marvel of modern engineering. Don't miss out on the opportunity to experience this incredible landmark for yourself.

Was amazing! My husband and I visited last weekend. It was cloudy and brisk! But did not disappoint. It was as grand as I pictured in my head. Everything is just so beautiful. The air is so fresh. I miss it already. If you decide to travel to the bridge, heads up, there is a toll 😁 but worth the $8.66 each way. And everyone was also very friendly! Happy travels! The white bridge I forget exactly the history on that, but was fun to go across too.

Golden Gate Bridge Extremely popular tourist attraction of San Francisco, California. Walk, jog, run or bike on the bridge to enjoy the attraction. You can also drive on the bridge or just visit the visitor area. The adjoining visitor center and gift shop are a must visit. Easy access by road and public transport. Must visit if you are visiting the San Francisco area.

Definitely worth both a bike ride over and a walk over. It’s a very different perspective from driving and all 3 don’t disappoint on this majestic piece of human engineering. Note, being the significant tourist attraction that it is, during the weekend it could get pretty busy with people, cars and cyclists.
