Such a beautiful concept. The food was okay, pricey but comparable for the location. The photos on the wall were inspiring, I enjoyed the multicultural atmosphere.

Global Cafe is amazing. I love everything from the mission to the variety of food to the specials to the people serving it up. The vibes are amazing and food is delicious. The ceviche is a favorite of mine along with the Sudanese fried chicken. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love this place. The whole concept is great and the food is amazing. I've tried several items on the menu and all of them were excellent. You can tell people cooking the food really get how every dish is supposed to taste. Also, portions are generous and prices fair. The only thing I think they can improve is packaging for the tacos because they were wet when I got them (I'm not an expert, but the container needs some ventilation). I'm so happy that I found this place here in Memphis. Can't wait for this pandemic to be over and have the chance to dine in!

This is a cute popular spot in the Crosstown Concourse. From what I understand is that they hire refugees from different countries so the dishes are authentic. I have gotten the Carnitas tacos on multiple occasions and loved them I was that fond of the chicken tacos they didn’t have much flavor in my opinion. My husband ordered shawarma and he said it was great. The cocktails here are great too.

A lovely establishment. Lots of different different dishes and flavor profiles to choose from. Delicious and unique cocktails. You can never go wrong with their margaritas! We always take advantage of the outdoor seating.

I was passing by this place, when they caught my attention. I thought of having a drink or a coffee, and then I saw the menu. I couldn’t not resist from buying myself the dinner. The front desk person was nice and kind. I took out the food. I ordered some rice and spicy potato with beef ( cannot remember the exact name, neither the country name). Their concept is so cool, so as everything. My food was absolutely good. I’m happy with the portion size too. I am definitely returning.

I order sudanese food “Dama & Rous” expecting to be real african / middle eastern type of food with all spices and flavor but unfortunately wasn’t neither of them. Its edible food but I will not crave for it. Also I think it overpriced “$25+” for mint limeade, Dama Rous & tip. However, the food throw me of african food, it turned into Mexican flavor because they garnish it with plenty of Mexican Viesta “ cilantro, tomato, cucumber, green pepper …. etc” If they didn’t garnish it. I still will not crave it. Dice beef cooked in tomato past. mostly test the can of tomato past and I don’t know what kind of spice in it. Next time for $25 i will search for Ethiopian restaurants and be happier. My suggestion to the owners of the place to bring Jamaican type of food mainly “ oxtail & rise”.

Friendly staff and good portion sizes. It's nice to have an option of multiple ethnic cuisines under one restaurant (and have them all be good). The Asado bowl with carnitas was delicious (with rice, black beans, avocado, and pico de gallo). My brother got the Pabellón entrée, which was another rice and black bean based dish. The plantains were amazing, and if you've never had them before, you should order a side (or a dish that comes with some!). They have a different special every day of the week. We happened to go on Taco Tuesday. You get chips and salsa with an order of the special tacos. I will say, the worst thing about this place is that it's not open on Monday (but we understand everyone needs a day off).

Firstly, food is bland. I tried the Kuku Paka. Menu description said "kenyan spicy chicken with coconut curry". It is NOT spicy at all. I could taste no flavors except coconut curry. It tasted more like Thai food but less flavors. The rice is not warm & there is raw green & red peppers on top of the rice. The chicken is also Dark meat bone in. The cheese & potatoe empanadas were tasteless also. They puree the potato & mix it with cheese. Maybe the meat options would taste better. The only good thing I ordered was the Cafe con leche but I've had better in FL from real Cuban cafes. This place is ok. For the price, I expected better food. The food looks clean though & the portions are a lot.

Delightful place with a great vibe, very trendy design and open stall style concept. My understanding is that all the employees are refugees from the different countries which they offer culinary experience from. I personally went with the Nepalese cuisine, loved everything about it. I'll be coming back to try the other counters. They do need to work on the flow through for stalls to the checkout counter, but it's not terrible when they are slow.

A total gem! So many wonderful options on one menu! I had the Kuku Paka (coconut curry chicken with rice) and it was delicious! The portion size was big too.

Really enjoyed Global Cafe! I went here a few years ago and was excited to come back again. The Empanadas were my favorite, and the sauce served with it was amazing! The portion sizes are also really generous. The street tacos were alright, but I would not order them again. The service was fast and good. I would recommend the empanadas without a doubt.

One of if not the finest gems in Memphis. Yes the food is absolutely delicious and authentic, but the people are what truly make this special. They care about their product and your experience and it shows time after time.

Seriously some of the best food you can have in Memphis. Also, during COVID-19, they have waved delivery fees, which beats having to pay the extra fees Doordash or Postmates charges. The fried chicken with BBQ Sauce and Mashed Potatoes is my new favorite item on the menu. It gives Gus's a run for it's money in my opinion.

Really bad food. I love Mediterranean food but this was the worst that I have had in my life. I just ordered falafel and hummus, and it was impossible to eat, had to throw it out. Ordered the Turkish coffee, and had to throw it away, horribly spiced. Would never order again in this place.

The Venezuelan stall is my FAVORITE. The carne mechada (shredded beef) arepa is one of the best I've ever eaten (and I used to live in Miami). My husband likes to get the pabellón criollo plate (with the same meat, fried ripe plantains, rice, and black beans) and we share the empanadas. Everything you see here is gluten-free, too! But if you have celiac there is a cross contamination risk.

Very tasty food!! Got the Al pastor tacos and they were so moist and flavorful. Chips and salsa were okay. Salsa has a tiny kick but really not much if you have a decent spice tolerance. Would come back in the future! Would suggest ordering/paying inside as outside there may be phone connection issues. The staff was very accommodating and kind to mishaps though!

We came for brunch and it was perfect. I ordered off of the regular menu and got the plantain soup which was enough for two people. My fiancé ordered off of the brunch menu and got the breakfast tacos. Again, a very generous portion. Obviously everything was authentic and amazing. Since it’s the holidays they were even offering a free rompope (with entree purchase) to show gratitude to their patrons… so good!

It was my first time at Global Cafe and I am already a fan. Scott was my server, he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and business. My food was delivered quickly and was fresh. I ordered the street tacos and got an assortment and they were authentically dressed and delicious. Highly recommend.

Food was tasty and healthy to eat. Less oily, less salty. Ambience inside the restaurant is not so great. Little messy. Price also seem to be less than what is served. Asians definitely love the taste of Chicken Shawarma. You can go once in a while. They also have home delivery within a 4 miles radius.

Do not change the way you cook the food. I love the spices that were used in my dish last night...I had the Beef and Rice from Sundanese and even my three year old ate it and loved it.The other time I had the best empanadas from the Venezuelan side. All wonderful!!

I love the vibes and atmosphere at this place, it almost feels like having lunch at your friends house. My favorite meal is the chicken torta. My only recommendation would be for it to have lettuce instead of cabbage. That’s the way authentic Mexican tortas are served.

Love Global Cafe. Of all the restaurants in Crosstown that have come and gone, Global Cafe has consistently had some of the best food and service. I love to grab lunch there and sit out on the concourse on a beautiful day.

Awesome food, great bartender, important mission good drinks, very lousy, inattentive counter/checkout person. She missed items on both my orders and ignored me completely both times I came back in from the patio to request to-go supplies. Please train ALL your workers to be attentive to guests. The bartender, on the other hand, was awesome despite struggling to find time to take her break/having just returned from it!

Good vegan options. Food tastes great. We had the Japche and Falafel. The menu offers food from several different regions (of our planet). Staff was friendly and helpful. We were only passing through Memphis and the restaurant is a little away from I40, but it was worth the slight detour and we will definitely visit again.

Global Cafe has lots of vegan (and non-vegan) options that are super tasty. I have tried the sambuusas, falafel wraps, hummus and pita, and empanadas. All delicious and freshly made. Also, Global's margaritas are sooo yummy and only $3 from 3-6 PM. Great, friendly customer service.

Lovely little cafe that serves a small but very unique menu. All the foods we had were delicious, including the African Peanut Soup, Kenyan Chicken Curry, and Sambusas. Had a Ukrainian popup on the day we went which was also excellent!

Great variety of foods. I have tried 2 different meals which were both great: the Dama with rous and the kuku paka. I give a slight edge to the kuku paka, but would recommend either to anybody. There's a little bit of spiciness, but not enough to scare anyone away unless they find taco bell sauce too hot.

Having been to Global Cafe since its inception, it’s disappointing to see what it has become. Still a fantastic mission (read the NPR write-up on it if you haven’t already) and the food is good. But as far as the dining experience, things have declined. In the beginning, the concept was as a food hall type setup. You were able to interact with and watch the multinational chefs working in their individual stalls and order from them directly, checking out at the register. The space was clean, welcoming, and efficient. During the pandemic, the restaurant shifted hard toward to-go service and it has unfortunately kept that feel today. There is no more interacting with people at the individual stalls and ordering from their country-specific menus overhead. You’re now forced to use the clunky ordering system from the table or stand awkwardly at the register while perusing a smattering of paper menus laying on the bar with a hodgepodge of multinational dishes. The space is now blocked off and cluttered to accommodate their takeout business. The people you do interact with at the register and bar are not the friendliest. Mostly it’s just the aggressive bartender barking out orders. Again, the food is still good, but the rest of the fun experience is gone.

100% RECOMMEND😋Absolutely love this place! We decided to come dine here after receiving many recommendations from my local friends. The Kuku Paka was has a nice blend of flavors and spices that made this dish delightfully yummy. My meal came out really quick and fresh. The fried chicken my partner ordered took some time to come out but it was worth the wait. Very crunchy and the mashed potatoes complimented the chicken very well. The “barbecue” sauce was different but tasted even better than we expected. The portions were very big we had some leftovers. The customer service was splendid and the workers were very attentive to our order. Much appreciation to the hardworking chefs and staff💕We will definitely be back!

THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE! First time here at global cafe tonight, and I’ll be back time and time again. The manager was taking care of people in line the second we walked in, mind you I was in a group of 7. We ordered, and by the time we sat down our food was at our table, hot and ready to eat. I had chicken shawarma, and the portion size was huge for only $14! I’m a runner (25+ miles a week, and I eat like a tank, I could not finish my meal! Completely blown away by my experience here, to the point of which I’m writing this review, and I never write reviews!

I'm a regular Global Cafe diner, and it never disappoints. The variety of international food is outstanding and changes so there is always something new. It's an experience to sit outside at the tables and watch everything that's happening at Crosstown Concourse as you eat. It's the perfect summer lunch or dinner!

My family and I make Global Café a weekly visit. I am dairy and egg free as is my son and there are ample delicious items on the menu to choose from to fit our dietary restrictions. Their weekly specials of tacos, margaritas, ceviche, tortas and fried chicken make dinner choices easy and inexpensive as well. I know I can take my 8 month old either in the restaurant to sit or outside, and no one will bat an eye at his baby screeches or loud screaming-definitely family friendly which I am grateful for. Service is always amazing, food is always FRESH and delicious. We are thankful and happy to visit Global weekly!

We absolutely love Global Cafe! The food is amazing, the people are kind, and it is always very clean. We have been there several times over the last few weeks and every time we are impressed all over again. The Black Bean Burrito is only available on Friday and Saturday so those are great days to go. We have enjoyed everything we have gotten there, but my absolute favorites have been the Black Bean Burrito, Black Bean Tacos, Plantains, Elote, and the Hibiscus Tea. To be clear, their Hibiscus Tea isn't just a store bought tea bag tossed in water. It is a beautiful deeply colorful tea made from steeped Hibiscus Flowers right there in their kitchen. I wish they sold it by the gallon. The Plantains are deliciously caramelized, but not too sweet. They have a Cilantro Sauce that is served with the Empanadas that I love to add to the Black Bean Burrito, which is always perfectly toasted and filled with deliciousness. Then there is there Mango Margarita. It is served with an entire Mango on top that has been sliced into a flower and seasoned with lime juice and tajin.

Absolutely loved my first time eating at Global Cafe, cafeteria style restaurant, nice place, trendy atmosphere part of the Crosstown co course. They have a good variety of food in there, very fresh , perfectly seasoned and delicious. My husband had the Sudanese roasted garlic and red lentil soup with cheese bread and it was Heavenly, seriously. I had the Syrian chicken kebabs with rice , roasted veggies and I guess that was tzatziki sauce with cucumbers? So flavorful. Also we had Nepalese vegetarian samosas so yummy and crispy and with a kick to it, server with some sort of peanut sauce. Everything was so delicious! Can't wait to go back and order that delicious soup!

Absolutely amazing and delicious. I tried out something from each of the cultural stalls. Got the tabouleh from the Syrian stall- tasted so fresh and zesty! Tried the chicken shawarma from the Sudanese stall. It came on pita bread with rice, peppers, onions, and cilantro on top. The chicken itself was very different in taste than I've ever had. They put olives in the chicken mix which was my absolute favorite part of it! The last thing we got was the Stuffed Arepa with chicken. This was also very unique in it's taste. It looks just like a gyro wrap with shredded chicken and cheese, but the wrap itself didn't taste like bread. It had a sweeter taste to it.both the taste and texture reminded me of cornbread. Nevertheless, everything was absolutely amazing and delicious. I'm going into a food coma while righting this 😍😍

This place is unique and authentic as it gets. Great stories on the immigrants that came here and started up this place. The food is truly authentic with Napalese, Sudanese, and Syrian cuisine to choose from that operate out of three stations. I had the pleasure of trying the Chicken Shawarma. This is by far the most delicious dish I have had. There is also a unique "community table" in the middle of the restaurant that gives you the opportunity to done with others and learn about their background and stories. I will definitely be back!

Great tasting food. The only reason I held back the 5th star was because, for a newbie, the vendors don't help much in explaining what's in the dishes. A last in line explained them to me. Then, to eliminate the confusion, I just got what my lunch mate got! And, I think the vendor was glad I finally made up my mind...🤔😉😆

Through the front door and there are three food stalls with menu boards above them. The features today were foods from Syria, Sudan, and Venezuela. After selecting and receiving your menu item, pass by the bar for drinks, cutlery, and payment. There is seating inside and under cover outside. The Venezuelan beef stuffed arepas were moist and flavorful. The Syrian Okra Beef Stew was comfort food, but could have used more seasoning. We’ll be returning soon!
