Dr. Judy Chen is one of the worst doctors, and one of the worst communicators, I've ever met. She doesn't seem to even notice you're there half the time, and when she does she's rude and belittling and argumentative. Each time I've seen her I've actually had to ask at the end if the appointment is finished, and then show myself out, because she doesn't talk to you or acknowledge you or even look at you - she sort of just trails off mumbling to herself and typing notes into her computer as if you weren't even there...it's kind of bizarre. Absolutely would not recommend. I also regret not having sorted these reviews by "negative first" before booking, because then I would have seen all these other people who have had horrible experiences with her. I'd be willing to bet that a good portion of this clinic's 5-star reviews are fake/paid-for.

Not transparent - positions itself as a bulk-billing GP, which it is, but not for first time patients. At no point during the booking process was I informed about this fee. Nor was I told about it when I checked in. They waited until I was walking towards the doctors office to let me know. Time-wasting - Two other patients in the room had waited over an hour and a half for their appointment. I didn’t have to wait too long thankfully, but I did witness what some of the other reviewers are saying regarding how little they care when they waste your time. Incompetent - I saw Dr. Ali seeking an allied health care plan to see a physiotherapist for a chronic condition. A simple task that no other GP has ever had issue with. An online tool actually exists to check eligibility that he was either unaware of or (more likely) couldn’t be arsed checking. He didn’t care to ask me any questions about my condition, nor my history with it. He simply told me that I had ‘booked the wrong type of appointment’ (????), and that he wouldn’t do it. So I’ve left this practice having wasted two hours in the middle of a work day, having paid a fee that I wasn’t informed of, and having to make an appointment with a competent GP to do something about my quite visible chronic pain condition. Don’t bother coming here.

This is a typical transactional approach to medical money making. Especially Dr Chen, she avoids eye contact and cuts off your answers to her (very few) questions, and begins to stand up to show the door after only a few minutes. Despite me having ample written evidence from specialists she insisted that she “needed to think about” my acutely painful condition for a few days and that she would “call me back”. Unsurprisingly it has been over 3 weeks now and she’s apparently gone on leave. (If you take the time to read the reviews for Dr Judy Chen you will notice that the bulk of her positive comments come from a specific cultural background, so it’s hard not to conclude that she is prejudiced against folks not of a similar milieu to her own). If you’re not keen to waste your time and pay for incompetence then avoid visiting this abject failure of a “medical clinic”…

I am not a patient at this clinic but use Melbourne Pathology based inside the premises. I was very disturbed to see the treatment of two reception staff to multiple patients on 4/3. One of which was a poor woman had bought her daughter up desperately to the front desk seeking assistance and she was refused any kind of treatment due to the risk of her child having COVID. She had a rash taking over the lower half of her face and it was clearly very emotional for the mother who was simply looking for help. The two girls working at the time were unprofessional, unhelpful and need to seriously re consider their line of work.

Been there 2 days in a row first day left sitting waiting for the Dr for an hour while people who came after me went to see my Dr when I went to the counter the woman who was bad to begin with couldn't care less. Second day they had lost my appointment and the response I got was so sad too bad. Strike the whole lot off their treatment of patients is awful.

My visit was unhelpfully helpful if that makes sense. I was seen by Dr.Judy Chen, I explained my problems which she guessed it was a stress fracture of the foot after which I asked about a treatment/recovery plan and all she said was "support it when you wear shoes and take ibuprofen." No explanation as to what might have caused the issue, no preventative care to stop the problem from escalating (which it has to the point I can't stand on that leg) and no referral to a physio or podiatrist. Over all my experience was ok, the practice in general was very efficient and welcoming and It was nice to have a label to the ailment but getting further information felt like drawing blood from a stone.

Excellent services! My family and myself’s been with Northland Medical Centre for more than 10 years and we can certainly feel the positive changes and professionalism developing within the team. We normally go to see Dr. Chen and her attentive attitude and professional knowledge has helped us a lot! Every now and then if she’s busy or away, we do get to refer to other doctors and they also amazing! Strongly recommend!

I had a horrible experience here. I left the doctors in tears after my appointment. The doctor didn't listen to what I had to say. Dismissed virtually everything she did listen to. Gave me information which was incorrect on 3 different subjects then asked me to leave. I have never felt so judged by someone let alone a doctor. She showed zero compassion and has left me very upset.

First and last time I visit this clinic. We booked my 4 year olds appt with Dr Judy, as she had some great reviews. We were in and out in 5 minutes, no proper care given... an absolute waste of our time. She didn't appear to be listening, and was very quick to tell us to come back for a follow up. I asked a question about her ashma preventer but Dr Judy was already at the door, completely fobbed it off and was calling for the next patient as we wallked down the hallway. Hopefully retirement isn't far off.

The 2 stars for the great doctors in there. Otherwise, I would give it zero. The receptionist is rude and not willing to do her job. On their mobile application, there are available bookings for next day, I decided to call and see if I can find something for the same day instead, and after long wait, I'm told that they are fully booked with nothing available till 5 days from today, which is not true and alot of appointments are available throughout. If you have a clinic that doesn't want patients to book into, why open it in the first place? A message to the clinic receptionist, Please be kind and nice to people calling instead of shoving them out like that, and if thats too much to ask, then just do your job would be enough.

Dr Judy Chen is elite and I have recommended at least five of my friends to her, who all say the same thing. She knows what needs to be done, no fuss, and has a great sense of humour. The best GP I have been to, thank you Dr Judy.

It is always a pleasure to see Doctor Judy Chan, she is welcoming and one feels comfortable to share any medical and other issues with her. I travel a long distance to visit Dr Chan as I feel very safe and take her advise seriously. I highly recommend Dr Chan to any patient.

Poor service. Ended up waiting for more than one hour. Found out they didn't check in on the system when I talked to them on arrival. And still waiting to be seen. Wasting time. They don't even feel bad. Was like oops sorry reaction.

My doctor's availability is good with very little waiting time. Reception and pathology staff are friendly and helpful. Nurses are also friendly and obliging.

The wait time was short. The receptionist was friendly and professional and my Dr was informative and didn't rush the appointment unnecessarily. Parking 👍 Also want to commend the availability of the bone density scanning that is free via the clinic and mobile bus (? once a year in sept )

Easy to book and waiting time was minimal. Consultation was to the point and effective.

My visit was with Dr Effie Frangoulis who really listened and was very thorough. The front of surgery staff were friendly and welcoming. I definitely felt like I was in very capable hands.

Dr Alinis a very experienced, knowledgeable doctor and I would highly recommend this clinic for anyone looking for continuing of medical care. The desk staff are very professional and the practice also has on-site pathology service.

Dr batool is fantastic with myself and my four kids, she always goes above and beyond to be thorough and not rush us out the door. I have been going for 8+ years since moving to the area and will not be changing anytime soon. The nurses are also amazing too

I was advised upon arrival that the doctor was not accepting new patients. Well that should have been advised prior to arrival. Once l did see the doctor it was rushed and made some effort to ensure l was not upset. Let's say if doctors are picking and choosing patients then they should stop practising.

I had a terrible experience here today with a dr. I felt rushed almost immediately as soon as I sat with her. When I asked how I could go about getting a blood test because I suffer from pcos, she told me point blank that she didn't believe me. She told me that my doctors were misinformed and there was no need for anything. This is all before she looked at any information or heard what I had to say. When I pressed her and asked why she would say that if I had seen multiple drs, specialists, and had tests that literally confirmed that I had it, she told me that I had to come back next time with those tests to see herself. She was dismissive and rude and the overall experience felt racist. I left the clinic in tears because I had never felt so shamed and embarrassed. why be a doctor if you're not actually going to listen to people you're meant to be helping.

I was frantically looking for a GP as my bub was a bit sick. A lot of them had closed for the Easter break and / or wouldn't take new patients. Thanks to Northland Medical Centre, I was able to get my bub checked out. Nina at the front office was courteous and assured that it was okay to come in ASAP. Dr Mohtaji was also patient with us and gave the right recommendations. Thank you!

I desperately needed a Doctor in the area. Northland Medical Centre is bulk billed and making an apointment was so easy via their website. The clinic was clean, the receptionist staff were friendly and quick to act and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here today. My parents have been the patient since they arrived in Melbourne. They said they are always welcomed by the warm and friendly receptionists and seated in a clean and spacious waiting room. The professionalism and attentive they received is highly appreciated. 5 stars! Dr Judy Chen is very professional and alway called them on time.

This is a wonderful medical center! I totally disagree with the negative review of Dr Judy Chen and maintain my previous 5 star rating for the Northland Medical Center. I have been a patient of Dr Chen for more than 10 years. She is a very caring, knowable and professional family doctor and an excellent communicator. In my experience with her, I’ve never been disappointed, but am so grateful to her for taking care of my health. Dr Judy Chen has been my family GP for several years now and has always been extremely kind, considerate and knowledgeable on any of the health concerns that I or my family have needed treatment for. I highly recommend her for her commitment to her patients, as she is always thorough with her testing and diagnostics. I have found her consistent in being genuinely interested in my health and wellness, and I haven’t found her rude or dismissive at all like another reviewer has suggested - and I definitely have not been paid for this review. I started going to this clinic as I used to live in the Reservoir area. I have since moved across the city and still return to Dr. Chen for treatment. I highly recommend considering her as your local GP!

My grandma and i see Dr Judy Chen. She is very good at what she does, quick and sufficient. Straight to the point. I like that she doesn't waste time but it also very friendly as well. She is our main doctor for all GP needs. She's super lovely and I highly recommend.

Northland Medical Centre has become my trusted local GP. I'm very happy with the medical advice, and the nurses and reception staff are kind and caring. The only slight drawback about this clinic is that you can end up waiting a long time, it just depends. Nowadays I come prepared with something to read.

I only go if I am absolutely desperate, this is not good because I have been suffering with illness for weeks and Dr Batool managed to give me relief within 30mins. Excellent physician who really listens and is very thorough,knowledgeable and has excellent care for her patients She is very passionate about the care and follow up!! Don’t go here waited 2 hours for booked appointment only went there because of bulk billing to get a couple of scripts with a letter from my original doctor. The doctor I saw didn’t listen and kept asking my living arrangements and re wrote the script 3 times insisted on me having blood test which I had 4 weeks Prior and a urine test he still got script wrong I was there for 4 1/2 hours Don’t go there it’s a Horrible horrible medical Centre

I took my 5 year old son for his first COVID-19 vaccination today now that he's old enough. This was the second attempt after protesting for an hour at another vaccination centre. It took me and 2 other staff to hold him down while the 3rd got the jab in. Great teamwork all! :-) He was fine after that, no ill effects physically or mentally.

This clinic is known for over committing and over booking patients, there are bookings every five mins, which implies and explains how quick they are to get you out of their rooms, but also the 40 minute wait time to even get to your slot given the overbooking. The doctors are also lacking in bed side manners, care factors and just in a general rush. The receptionist are rude, not clear with their explanations and again just a general reaction to the rush manner of it all

Dr Mohtaji is a very good, attentive doctor. He gives you plenty of time. Does not rush you, like some others at this practice. He has a genuine concern for your health and well-being. I nearly left this clinic, after poor treatment given by a female doctor.

I specifically told the receptionist on the phone I am coming for skin tag removal with the nurse, but they have not added that in the system. Luckily the nurse was willing to help me anyways, she was really great. My feedback I’d mainly for the booking staff.

I tried giving 0/5 stars but it would not allow. “Doctor” Omar Seedat is a terrible doctor. Don’t bother going here/ letting your family members go here if they have a bit of a language barrier. If they need any results from a test explained to them, he won’t bother to listen and doesn’t bother to do his job properly. Disgusting practise. One of my parents has had multiple tests completed and asked for the results. “Doctor” Omar Seedat printed out the results and advised his client to “get your kids to explain it to you” instead. Why bother calling yourself a doctor if you cannot do your job properly? You are a failure Omar Seedat and far from what a real doctor is. Senior Doctor or not, this needs to be looked into. 0/5 stars.

Great service! They did their best to book me in at short notice. The doctor I saw was friendly, helpful and able to explain themselves clearly so I understood the condition and what was necessary.

Dr Judy Chen is my family doctor. At first I felt that she was not enthusiastic, but I gradually found that Dr. Chen is very serious. She doesn't talk much but pays attention to the key points when seeing a doctor, and helps patients as much as possible. She is a very good doctor.

I have been attending the Northland Medical Clinic for a number of years primarily seeing GP Judy Chen. Judy has been a terrific GP having treated myself, my wife and daughter over a number of years. Judy was incredibly helpful when I was going through a work cover issue. All appointments, paperwork and management of my injury were first class. Highly recommend Judy to anybody attending the Centre.

Good service for a free clinic. Very busy and rushed as you can imagine. To no fault of the doctors. Kudos to the receptionists as well in this challenging environment. The phlebotomists are amazing. I went For two blood tests in the past week and I didn't even feel the pinch!

I self-tested positive Saturday morning. Contacted the clinic and was told booking was full for the day. Somehow they managed to get a doctor to call me on the phone. When I finished describing my symptoms, a link to the medicine was sent to me. I really appreciate their accommodation.

I have visited this busy medical centre with my family for several years, my experience has always been very positive. The Doctors and Administrative staff have always been very professional, efficient and accommodating.

Dr Batool is my regular GP. She listens and we have built a rapport. I trust Dr Batools advice with some ongoing chronic issues. I book a long consultation for complex issues and standard for one or two simpler matters. Very happy and love Dr Batool!

Got allergy. Booked online for 11.50am next morning. Got confirmed. Then suddenly got missed call in the morning saying it has to be re-scheduled. Tried to call back so many times, no response at all. Turned up 20’ earlier (11.30am) The front desk girl saying doctors about to leave now. But the opening hrs for sunday is 9-5pm??? I asked her I have allergy I just need a medication. My appointment is mine away. Can doctor see me for a bit? She said doctor ( Judy Chen) will leave soon and won’t take any others patients. But I stayed outside quite some times and they still taking in 4 other patients who turned up after me… So doctors won’t leave any time soon??? Despite it’s not cheap price but as it’s close to our new house. I was looking forward to stick with this centre. Never come back again…

Dr Mohtaji is very patient and listens. He is responsive to needs, answers questions and shows care for his patients.

All the 5 star reviews are FAKE!! Confirmed by text my appointment with the doctor the previous night and next morning a text was sent saying my appointment was cancelled and it asked me to call up the reception. I called up several times, not once the phone was picked by the reception. I am so sick with pain and I tried to book online and it doesn't let you book any doctor even on the the next day as well. I am shocked at the way patients are being treated. Just because this clinic bulk bills, it doesn't give this clinic the right to treat us poor patients inhumanely. It is because of us patients, you exist!!
