Wanted to love this Cafe and initially we did. Food was good and waiter was attentive and friendly when we arrived. They forgot part of our meal (surprising as the forgotten side dish was one suggested by the waiter himself) and it took awhile to find someone's attention to ask for the missing item. They don't write down orders and try to upsell literally everything. I was charged $2.50 for butter with my meal, which wasn't told to me and I can't find it on their menu as an additional cost anywhere. The waiter said 'do you want butter with your toast?'. And I said yes because who doesn't want butter on toast when ordering toast with eggs? Seems dodgy in my books and $2.50 for a teeny blob is ludicrous. We were going to come back but this soured our breakfast and we've decided we just can't support a business like that. You'd also be hard pressed to find more than 2g of goat cheese on those tomatoes..

Lovely place , warm and friendly staff . Food excellent .. will definately be back , my only fall back that I wish I knew about this place earlier !!! You’ll see me again !

We had brunch at Against the Grind today and was impressed they were willing to itemise split the bill (unprompted). Food wise the smashed avocado dish had very little avo on it given it was supposed to be the star of the show and whilst the menu stated goats cheese I didn’t see any on the plate unless you count the fact the tomatoes seemed to be covered in a white sauce? Bread was also barely toasted so not really meeting expectations at the price point. I liked the Balinese vibes of the venue though

Best meal & coffee! Had the mango bowl, my son had the chickpea scramble & my husband the about last night juice as well as coffees & the vegan Ferrero Rocher slice...everything was so delicious, service was very friendly, great place, great vegan options! Bought the Snickers vegan slice to take home, plan to be back very soon, thank you! Very highly recommended!!

I absolutely love this place. Healthy breakfast options. Coffees are proper! Breakfast bowl was very light but filling. Staff are nice and attentive even when they're busy.

I came in this morning for breakfast with my mum the service was absolutely amazing, the waitresses were so lovely they let us sit in the cafe for ages just doing work without making us feel like a bother. They were so lovely, we’re very happy with the service from Tia and Claudia. (the food and coffees were also perfect)

Wait staff were slow to hand out menus so we sat there doing nothing for ages. Food is pricey and hate the long life milk in the coffee. Quality was good once it arrived.

So excited to have found this as our new local. Great coffee every time. Soul bowl is just what you need some mornings. Great atmosphere in a cosy space. We keep coming back!

Great little coffee shop tucked away. Excellent coffee. Had a toasted banana bread with PLENTY of butter. Yum!

Delicious coffee, always served with a smile. The staff are wonderful. I love their mini breaky bowls that always sell out by the time I arrive, but they still find the time to make mine from scratch. Grazie!

The staffs were extremely welcoming, bubbly and light conversations. Food was spot on, decadent yet light and “un-boring”. Coffee was great. Best in the area. Highly recommend

This is the best cafe in the Mill park/South Morang area. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing, the coffee is nice and strong, and I like their menu overall. Happy to have find them!

What a great little cafe in the burbs. Such a good fit out inside, reminded us a little of a Bali vibe. Coffee is outstanding, service on point and food was great. The music could use some tweaks for my liking, but still enjoyable. Will definitely return, especially for coffee!

Found this Cafe on our way to work one day. The food was delicious and was served on beautiful cutlery. The kitchen took a while to serve the food but it was well worth the wait Their coffee has a sweetness to it but still nice and strong. The cafe was beautiful and had a good base of visitors.

The staff are nice and the food is okay. But it's always packed and the coffee isn't very good. I've tried here a few times and taken friends there too for other opinions, but each time we've all agreed the coffee has a weird taste.

The ambience is wonderful, and the place has a great energy. Food is always well presented and enjoyable, coffee is great and the staff are helpful and friendly. The owner always goes out of her way to make you feel welcome.
