I would love to elaborate on this mosque but it wasn't open at the time I got there (at about 8am). From the outside, the mosque is actually pretty nice and large. There are two locked gates that I would assume are the two entrances into the mosque. There is a huge parking lot for vehicles, but go slowly into it since there's no slope or ramp to "ease" into the lot. There was also a homeless guy sleeping right in front of the mosque on the street. I'll have to update this if I get the chance to visit again.

I don’t thinks it’s an active mosque, when I visited it was closed, and it seems like it’s only open on some occasions in the year or if there’s some type of coordination to visit in advance like for tour purposes , at least that what I noticed from some YouTube videos, wish I was able to see it from inside.

Jalil Khayat Mosque, Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq The largest mosque in the city, it was begun by Jalil Khayat who died in 2005 & completed in 2007 by his sons in memory of their father. The blue style resembles the Mosque of Muhammad Ali in Cairo & Blue mosque in Istanbul

One of the most beautiful mosque in Erbil. It seems to be a blend of the Turkish and Persian styles. The daily Imam has a great voice and the interior is just as stunning as the outside. The only problem is that it closes 15 minutes after each prayer, even Magrib, so you can't stay there from Magrib to Isha

The mosk is off course very beautiful and from the outside, sadly we were not allowed to look inside the mosk as shown in the pictures. There was only a little space open for prayer that day

It’s a very pretty mosque. Keep in mind that it’s in service and not a tourist attraction so when you visit be respectful of the people who are there to pray and limit the photo taking as much as possible

Such a peaceful mosque on a busy man road. When you enter to pray to the mosque, you forget everything and focus on worship.
