a very impressive natural waterfalls. Water seems to come from the middle of the mountain. There are lots of cafe and restaurants. One of the famouse waterfalls accross Kurdistan and Iraq, It has a breathtaking view. its a great place to visit during summer time and get rid of hot weather in Erbil city center. By the way, you have to walk through the water barefoot to reach a place for seating.

Ali Begg Valley . Situated about 95 kilometers from Erbil off the road to Soran, this valley dips between the Korek and Bradost mountains. It is 12 kilometers long with many beautiful sites, such as springs and waterfalls. The famous Gali Ali Begg Waterfall is located in this valley which is a popular site for tourists from all around the country to visit. There is also several restaurants and cafes in the valley, built to accommodate visitors.

Hailed as the highest waterfall in the Middle East, Gali Ali Bag, a dusty but beautiful three-hour drive from Erbil, is a mountain resort located on the intersection of two mountain ranges – the Korek chain in the north and the Bradost chain in the west – and two rivers, the Rawandoz Sidakan and the Khalifan. The breathtaking scenery around the waterfalls has long since assured the site’s popularity as a picnic spot, and the resort today – complete with a waterside souk and its host of terrace cafes and eateries – offers a warm, authentic welcome. During the long summer months, tourists from all over Iraq can be found in these popular waterfalls – famous for their outstanding natural beauty. The dramatic mountain scenery in the second half of the three-hour drive makes the excursion well worth the effort and one of Erbil Lifestyle’s favorite day trip destinations..

Bring slippers or sandles with you. If you forget they sell them at the entrance. There are restaurants and a couple of shops where you get to walk in water and enjoy the waterfall.

Beautiful falls. Easy to get to; probably fit for summer and other seasons except winter, it was pretty cold in January. The water is pretty fast during the winter season. Beautiful for pictures. There are bathrooms, Restaurants and prayer rooms but nothing was open due to the winter season. Entertaining is for 1,000 IQD about $0.7 USD

That is easily the most fun spot on the way between the Kurdish capital of Erbil and the city lfRawanduz. Super fun, lots of families and extra fresh for a very fair price. The option of restaurant around makes it a must to rest, eat, refresh and have fun! I was traveling around and didn't know what to expect, was a great glimpse at Kurdish life!

Nice waterfall, we have spent wonderful time over there, it is relatively far away from center of Erbil, also the roads are somehow difficult to drive, but we made it, it worth the efforts, there are many restaurants with good food and other food stuff like ice-cream, the nature was amazing and charming, it was great experience overall, I recommend visiting 😀

Good for a short stay. Not very clean. Needs maintainance and they have to make it bigger and more organised. The water level has dropped so they made an artificial water supply.

This is one of the national treasures of the region. If you are visiting the area, you might want to spend some time here. The scenery is beautiful and the weather is nice. It is friendly to families and children. This waterfall is featured on 5K Iraqi currency. The administration fee is about 1000 Iraqi dinner per person.

Gali Ali Baik is a best place to have a nice views with fresh air and the cold water is between legs everywhere.. Although it is very crowdy so each one should take care especially during COVID-19 pandemic.. I really recommend everyone to visit.

The place and the waterfall itself is beautiful but there's no suitable accommodation to stay as most of the visitors coming from long distances and are interesting in spending nights there.
