This is a fantastic airport viewing area. With Cincinnati being a major hub for freight aircraft, there are a plethora of aircraft on the ground awaiting loading and unloading, with anything from smaller regional aircraft to 747 freighter variants. There are a decent amount of parking spaces which allows for good parking even during sunset, which I might add, this place is a good vantage point to see great sunsets. With the multiple runways that CVG has, you can see planes landing parallel to you or heading directly towards or away from you, and I was lucky enough to see 737's crossing paths as one landed and the other awaited clearance for takeoff. It was also fantastic watching the 737 take off heading away from me and the others at the viewing area into the sunset. If you are looking for a way to kill an hour or two outside with a place to sit down, talk, and watch some decent aircraft action, this is a fantastic place to go!

Nice little formal area set aside at CVG to view the airport activity. Real simple set up: Picnic tables, garbage cans, a small parking lot. A generous fence line gives plenty of room even if the place were packed. Thanks to CVG for making this area available.

Never been this close to a plane and was glad they had a place like this. We are from Pennsylvania and it was a nice thing to do on our last night here. Hope to come back and do it again.

This was my first time visiting and it was so much fun! I can't wait to take my granddaughters for a picnic and playtime. It was surprisingly enjoyable as adults though. The park was clean and so were the bathroom facilities. My favorite was when the bigger planes made the ground rumble!

Great place to watch airplanes land and take off. Portable potties were handy, as were the dog baggies and disposal stations. Perfect spot to take a break and stretch your legs and your dog’s. Easy to find and lots of spots to park. Could use a bit of shade, it was hot when we were there and there was not where to get out of the sun.

First time being here. It's a large enough area to not feel crowded. There's plenty of benches to sit on, but the view is better while standing up due to the fence.

★☆☆☆☆ Popularity ★☆☆☆☆ Size/Location ★★★★★ Terrain ★★★★☆ Scenery ★★★★★ Accessibility ★★★☆☆ Amenities ★★★★★ Condition ★★★★★ Safety Date visited: 11/25/2023 On a chilly November weekend, I found myself drawn to CVG airplane viewing area, a hidden gem that had been on the outskirts of my to-go list for far too long. Nestled just a brief drive away from the CVG airport parking garage, my journey began in the early morning hours. The roads, still draped in the quietude of the dawn, offered a tranquil passage. The sky, donning a crimson cloak woven from clouds, witnessed the sun's slow ascent from the horizon. The crisp air, untouched by the first light of day, lingered in a serene embrace. As I reached the viewing area, a handful of early risers had already claimed their vantage points. Each sat ensconced within their cars, eyes fixed on the runway beyond. The parking lot, modest in size, lay mostly deserted. A metal barrier encircled the park's perimeter, adding a sense of containment to the aviation spectacle. Stepping out of my car, I explored the surroundings, discovering a small children's playground—a thoughtful addition for families to enjoy the planes in serene contemplation. Educational panels adorned the fence, imparting valuable insights for visitors, from optimal viewing times to categorizations of airplanes. The park, equipped with two portable potties and a few dumpsters, exuded an air of cleanliness and order. I patiently invested around 10 minutes, hopeful for the spectacle of a plane taking flight. Alas, my brief sojourn yielded no airborne marvels. As more enthusiasts arrived, the space began to feel a tad congested, prompting my reluctant retreat. Yet, the uneventful morning left me with a sense of anticipation for future opportunities. Overall, this unassuming park earns my recommendation for anyone passing through the airport vicinity. While not adorned with extravagance or fame, it provides just enough to induce relaxation and awe. The sight of an airplane, symbolic of new beginnings and endless possibilities, has sparked the creativity of many an artist, making this quaint viewing area a potential muse for those seeking inspiration.

My gal and I ate some takeout here. Enjoyed it. It was around sunset. Lots of people there, but we managed a good spot. Watched the jets and planes landing or taking off. The lights on the runways and taxiways came on and made lots of colors . Looked pretty cool. Area may fit 40 to 50 vehicles with maybe 15 to 20 having a great view. Picnic tables, trash cans, and port-a-lets available in the area. Nice experience.

**free. Fun, NOT too far for adults and/or kids.** I was out grocery shopping with my two year old son, he needed a break between stores. My mother in law had previously recommended Going here previous previously And since it was not far from target, I decided to stop and check it out. My son LOVED it. He was so excited to see airplanes land and take off. Plus they have a little picnic area and a few playground toys in a little gated area. ONLY DOWN SIDE: Due to the fact that it is an airplane in viewing area it wouldn't make sense to have The picnic area or park covered because it would block your view, However the day we Visited it was A really hot sunny day, It which made the playground equipment way too hot to play on. So if you decide to go I would just suggest that you go on a day that is not too hot especially if you have little ones. Overall I highly recommend the airplane viewing area, it is easy to get to and was the perfect break spot. I definitely be going back soon just on a day We can stay longer.

We must not have visited at a good time (around 930am) because we only saw a couple of planes land and none take off. Still fun to see! The parking area is very spacious and clean. There are a lot of trash cans available and even Porta potties. It was a cold morning, so we did not venture out of the car.

This little park was so neat. You have a perfect view of the planes taking off and landing, and there are a few simple playground items for kids. Great way to kill some time if you need to kill a little time waiting for someone at the airport.

This place is great! Signs have great info on how to listen to ATC and identify aircraft. Great place to learn about airports and see some big planes.

Really well done with signs to show you the different airplanes sizes and flight schedule information and recommendations. Plenty of parking. Porta potties a little playground area for the tiny kids. That's airplane themed. We love it. We've never found one quite like this so will organized, accessible

Fantastic plane spotting. As a novice I loved the information plaques. For fellow Pokemon Go players there is a cute poke stop at the info plaques and a neat gym placed on top of a plaque for the center of population in 1880 which was cool. There is also a small child play ground and portable toilets.

Great spot to park, enjoy the sunset, & watch the planes coming in!

We always enjoy coming out to view the planes. It's helpful to get some sort of app to see what planes will be arriving and departing at certain times of the day. CVG has peak hours and if you come during the down time you'll likely be disappointed. The view is great, the facilities are usually clean (as clean as a port-a-potty will be), and kids love the play area.

Such a cool place to go and watch planes take off.

The play area has very limited options for children to play on. It is nice that the play area is fenced in. There are great views of the planes landing and taking off from CVG. Another downside is that there are only Portapotties at the park for a restroom.

Just a nice place to chill and watch the planes come and go. Can get loud when the bigger planes land and their engines thrust to slow themselves down. Dusk is the prettiest.

Nice little spot to relax and watch the airplanes. Great for kids. There is an unfortunate hill that blocks where most of the airplanes touch down, so that is a bit of a bummer. But otherwise a great view. The playground area is very basic, but nice. Unfortunately they use mulched rubber for the ground in the playground area, which means that our boy with a latex allergy can't enjoy the play area. Most places have figured out not to use this stuff anymore but not CVG apparently. Oh well. The parking can be tough sometimes. People seem to use this area as a "cell phone lot", so there are a TON of people sitting in their cars staring at you as you and your kids play and watch airplanes. It's a bit weird. Overall, get past the mild inconveniences and it's a nice spot to take your kids every now and then.

Comfortable benches for sitting, a little play are for 12 and under, great view of the runway. Could use some different play apparatus but overall a nice experience.
