I had two perfect nights at Benheal Homestay right after my arrival in Kerala. The hostess Elsa arranged airport transport, provided suggestions for places to visit, helped me with phone SIM card troubles and she and her mother-in-law offered a delicious Kerala-typical breakfast every morning. The location is quiet but in easy walking distance to Fort Cochin area, the Cathedral, museums and ferries to nearby parts of the greater Kochi area. Highly recommended place to stay in Kochi!

Had a ball staying there. Right place for peaceful people to stay. They provide care for visitors as their own family and try to give utmost experience to customer visit. Furthermore, the land lady is a great cook and loves to feed people.

It was a great experience to visit Benheal Homestay! I recommend this place also for female solo travelers. Breakfasts are amazing, I was happy to try some local cuisine in a homemade version, that you will not find in the restaurants. Also, I'm thankful for the family atmosphere, interesting conversations about the history of Kochi, and helpful advice on sightseeing. The rooms are clean and nice. Will definitely be back next time I visit Kochi!

Best homestay I've been to during my travels in India. The family was so incredibly sweet and accommodating, they truly made it feel like I was home away from home. They helped me get around Fort Kochi, gave some great tips and served a delicious home cooked breakfast. Rooms were very clean and had all the basic amenities for a comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend and would absolutely come back if I ever have the chance!

The room was comfortable, clean and with a good size. Super delicious and nutritive home-made food can be arranged. Every day some new Yami dish for me to try:). The breakfast was also abundant and tasty. :) If you would like to experience a homestay with a Fort-kochi family this place is very welcoming. Elza is a super nice hostess. She was always helping me either in giving direction in the city, guiding me where to buy the best food and treats or making sure I was comfortable in my stay. An extraordinary help for me when I needed to deal with Indian bureaucracy. Elza was there to be intermediate incessantly til she sorted the situation. So grateful. A family of 3 adults and 1 little sweetheart girl.

I had a wonderful 3 night stay at Benheal homestay, and was welcomed by Elsa and her family with such kindness and warmth. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious, and comfortable. There’s a private living space, terrace and rooftop area that guests can also use. Each morning, I was served a delicious home cooked traditional breakfast in the family dining room, and had some great conversations getting to know the whole family. They arranged a backwaters boat tour, front row Kathakali performance tickets and a taxi to the bus station (which they woke up at 4am for to wave me goodbye). Rooms were well maintained. Felt really staying back in my home, service and food was excellent

I booked for only one night but ended up staying three nights. The family is lovely, they are so sweet. And they helped me out with all information about Kochi. And they invited me for dinner, and took me to their church for a special holiday where we had delicious food. I can recommend anyone to stay with them, you will not regret it. The location is also perfect, about 15 minutes walk to Vasco da Gama square.

We thank you for this incredible hospitality. I had booked the accommodation a day late due to my mistake, as it turned out when I arrived at the airport. I received immediate support and nice accommodation was organized for one night. We were picked up from the airport for a really fair price and driven straight to the temporary accommodation. The next day we finally arrived. We were warmly welcomed by the family. They organized a backwater tour, a visit to a classical concert, a henna tattoo and a transfer to the airport at 1:00 a.m. for us. We had a very delicious breakfast and also an incredible dinner on the last evening. There is nothing better than local food. We are very sad that we couldn't stay longer and look forward to visiting you again next time. We felt at home.
