Small museum where the technique for making cement is shown and a brief evolution of the cement plant and its people, which the Rezola family created in this Añorga neighborhood on the outskirts of Donostia, almost 170 years ago. The building that houses the museum was previously a school for the children of workers. Precisely, school and university groups often attend to visit the museum and the cement plant itself. Sometimes very interesting temporary exhibitions are held in this museum; Its rooms are also used to hold conferences, presentations and other cultural events, etc.

Obviously it is not a place that attracts attention to go and without having entered I imagine that you can see part of the history of the factory and the production of cement but outside right next door you can take advantage and have a drink quietly on the terraces or eat good rations in its two bars and restaurants while the little ones or adults play soccer or fronton. As long as there are no official football or baseball matches. Good service and friendliness in both locations.

They have explained to us how the neighborhood was founded around the Esperanza factory and how it grew to what it is today. Very interesting explanations and a small but well condensed museum. Schools also come to learn

It is a shame that it is closed on Saturday, August 20, just the day that information about the exhibition that ends on the 27th appears in the newspaper. Today, according to its website, the museum is open. But the doors are closed, A SHAME AND A 7 KM JOURNEY WAS IN VAIN.

Small museum, no less interesting for them. The managers are very involved, they are very friendly. The museum lends its facilities to various cultural groups in the area for rehearsals, etc. Two bike paths available to reach it. Very visitable rural area in the vicinity, beautiful walks. Right next door, two bars where you can eat (exquisite hamburgers, highly recommended menu of the day)

MUSEUM IN GUIPÚZCOA, SAN SEBASTIÁN, BASQUE COUNTRY, SPAIN At first it may seem that a cement museum is a boring visit, but once you know the ins and outs of the material, and the improvements it brought to this tiny town, you leave satisfied with having visited it. Rezola cement museum website You can reach this town through a "bidegorri", a path for bicycles and pedestrians, which is between Zarautz Avenue and the train track; It is a fully accessible 25-minute walk. It leaves from behind the gas station (direction Donosti) which is on Zarautz Avenue in the Benta-berri neighborhood of San Sebastián, reaching the final part of the town of Añorga-txiki. And from there we go up that street, cross the large roundabout, and there on the left is the museum (next to a church) and in front of the factory still in operation. In addition to the accessible path, it can be reached via the GI-21 road, with the bus (T2, T3, T5, G2) and the Euskotren train. On the opposite side of the museum we have the bus direction Donostia-San Sebastián. The Rezola cement museum houses new areas with technology: in the photos we can see touch screens that show the explanationThe museum unfortunately has non-accessible bathrooms. In the center of the venue there is usually a temporary exhibition, this time it was about the access to the city, as the photo shows us (For the blind): on a light pink panel, different questions about the city are shown, and depending on The answer yes or no, has a square with colorful building pieces -Lego-, in which the row with the most pieces wins, and this is how it is determined if it is yes or no...). The evaluation of the temporary exhibition is very original and colorful. At the back of the museum, in Pedro José bidea, we have another accessible path that takes us to the town of Rekalde ENTRANCE IS FREE AND ACCESSIBLE. SCHEDULES ONLY IN THE MORNING. Taken from the blog: turismocapacitada.wordpress.com where you have more excursions in the area.
