Fantastic boutique hotel that we turned into our home for 5 days. We were visiting from NYC and meeting our family for a special family reunion and spent 5 nights. We were a group of 15 (2 grandparents, 8 adults and 7 teens/young adults). Normally we would rent a big nice house to stay together (we have done that in Southern Spain, Tuscany, Provence, Jackson Hole… ) but surprisingly that was not an available option in Donostia. We stumbled into Heredad de Unanue a small (11 room) very nice late 1400s house transformed into a charming hotel and we rented out all the rooms to essentially transformed it into our house. What a great find. It was up in the foothills with very nice rooms, simple but pristine and great common areas for the 15 of us. The outside terrace was particularity enjoyable. The morning sunrises sipping my coffee were spectacular. Would absolutely recommend Heredad de Unanue. Thank you Arantxa, Maurizio and Yolanda for making it a very special experience.

My partner and I stayed here for about a week and, despite being extensive travellers, concluded that this is the best place we have ever stayed at! The hosts are the loveliest people who repeatedly went out of their way to make our visit special (eg bringing us cake and crisps when they saw us playing cards in the beautiful outside area). The hotel and setting is absolutely stunning and so serene, the breakfast each morning is so thoughtfully made and presented, and the value for money is extraordinary. We try never to visit the same place twice but we may have to make an exception for this beautiful hotel - thank you for such a wonderful stay!

We had a great stay at this hotel. It is a magnificent old building transformed into a charming hotel where the rooms combine refinement and calm (very good bedding). Everything is tastefully decorated and nothing is missing in the rooms. The breakfast was very pleasant. The hotel is located just minutes from the beautiful city of San Sebastian. Finally, the staff is attentive, very kind and very available. We really recommend this place.

Very beautiful and nice hotel! So homey, peaceful, welcoming place with a great family backstory. Enjoyed the interior of the hotel and a beautiful terrace. ⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Hotel and Staff! ⭐⭐⭐ We stayed in Heredad de Unanue and were blown away from the minute we walked in. The staff is fantastic, we got a tour around the house and got to learn about the history of the place. The view and scenery are so beautiful, and the hotel is simply wonderful with such a interesting story behind it. To anyone who is thinking about booking, please do! You will not be disappointed, one of the best hotel experiences in my life!

Wonderful conditions, spacious and stylish room and a delicious breakfast with local products. The best is the way we were treated, our hosts made us feel at home.

Everything perfect, a good base too for visiting around the area ... the quality of rooms, design, furnishings, outdoor space and the service is exceptional.

Wonderful hotel, lovely staff, beautiful landscape even though it's just 10min away from Donostia/San Sebastian. We loved our stay here! We rented a car to get to the hotel and discover the surrounding area.

Peaceful and beautifully decorated. We were welcomed warmly and after a few days felt at home with good friends. Mauricio, Arantxa, Yolanda and Maya were all incredibly kind. The owners took great care of my family and provided the best suggestions for day trips and activities. The hotel is in a quiet rural area with lovely views of grapevines and Apple orchards also only 10-15 minutes in car to downtown San Sebastián and lots of options for different beaches and cute coastal towns as well as hiking options along the coast or in the interior. We would love to return again soon!

Most welcoming and beautiful hotel of our stay in Spain by far. Extremely friendly and helpful host (Aruntxa), who gave us many recommendations on where to go and what to do. Really clean and spacious hotel room with wonderful teas for drinks at night. Highly highly recommended for a getaway for families and couples.

Coming home, that's how we would describe the whole experience in this magnificent and marvelous hotel with an exceptional history. As from the moment you step into this amazing "house", you feel so welcome that it feels as if you were visiting family! The staff is genuinely helpful and nothing is too much to ask! Amazing property with beautiful interior design. The owners and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We spent a relaxing three days at Heredad de Unanue. The location is great. It is in the hills but only a short bus journey from the centre of San Sebastian. The hotel is beautifully decorated and our hosts were very welcoming and couldn't be more helpful, including advice on entry to Spain and places to have our PCR tests prior to returning to the UK.

Amazing stay. Beautiful, beautiful place. Super friendly staff (and family owners). Uber clean. Great bathroom. Great wine at super affordable price. Great tips for food in San Sebastian. Will definitely come back.

The best decision we made was not to stay in San Seb center but to stay at this little piece of heaven just outside the city; in the green belt surrounding San Seb. Beautiful setting, excellent breakfast and heartwarming hospitality. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

This is definitely the most comfortable hotel I have ever stayed in Europe. It’s a family run hotel, you can feel it immediately when you enter the lobby. The staff are so friendly. Especially Amaia, one of the owners, she is extremely friendly, helpful and patient, she pays attention to all the details and the same time she is very humble. The whole hotel makes you feel like home. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and plentiful. Every night my husband and I stayed at the corner of the lobby to look at the next day's itinerary. Amaia or the staff proposed always the tea for us, and it always came with their homemade cookies. (The tea and cookies were excellent! ) Fortunately we haven’t booked the hotel in downtown San Sebastian, because you can't possibly feel relax like staying here. A pleasant surprise is that the hotel has car electronic charging piles, it’s very handy. We recommend Family Room, it’s cosy and spacious. If one day we travel nearby again, we will definitely choose this hotel again.

We visited this hotel in the beginning and end of our trip from Belgium to Portugal. The hotel is runned by a small and wonderful family of sisters. Everything is beautiful and ashtonishing in this hotel. The rooms are very clean, warm decorated and the shower is a true bliss. We arrived the second time at 2:30 in the night due to car issues and these ladies took care of everything so we were able to go to bed straight after arrival and didn't need to go through all the check in stuff. The hotel has a private charging station where you can charge your electric car! Make sure you'll take the home made breakfast: it is delicious! Thank you so much for everything, we'll come back for sure and highly reccommend this hotel to everyone.

Very friendly welcome! Liked the history of this special place! Its is a magnificent hotel when you need some rest after a 9 hours drive from Costa del Sol, or if you just want to enjoy the peace and the beautiful environment.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and it has been one of the best stays we have had! And we travel a lot. First of all the family that owns the property and hotel went beyond to make sure we were comfortable. They were so friendly and attentive and served us delicious fresh breakfast each day. The organic apple juice and the views each morning was magical! The rooms and the entire interior is so carefully decorated and every corner of the house is special. Beds are super comfortable and the entire hotel smells so good!!! It’s all in the details. The surroundings are beautiful with endless green fields and farm making it so peaceful. On top of everything it’s just 15 minute drive from San Sebastián. Everything you need for a perfect stay is here!!! Thank you again for such a special hospitality 🌿🌿🌿💜💜💜
