We visit San Sebastián every year with friends. We always go and send our friends on Keith’s tours. Every single person is blown away by his incredible depth of knowledge, skilled presentation and the fun time they have on his tours. It never fails to impress! There may be other tour operators out there but take it from an experienced traveler and regular visitor to San Sebastián- this is undoubtedly the best! `

The pintxos tour run by Keith was a great way to understand not only the Basque food and wine scene, but also an overview of their way of life , a bit of history and their relationship to food and how that has developed over a long period of time . There is no way you could possibly navigate your way around the old part of town with its huge number of pintxos bars, restaurants and food shops without a locals knowledge of where to go and what to eat . With Keith as our guide, he took us to his favourite places . He orders for you , describes the food and selects a matching wine to go with it ,and was spot on with his choices. At the end he gives you many other recommendations for other places to eat in the area . Very good value for the $

I highly recommend this tour! We started with history of the basque culture/people and it was interesting to learn about San Sebastián. Keith was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the pinxtos were fantastic! We had gone out on our own a couple of times and now we’ll know what to order. I really appreciated all the advice he gave us on where to spend the rest of our time in San Sebastián too. Thanks so much!

Went on this tour for the second time with Keith back on 13 September 2018. Still the best walking tour in the business. Unbelievable breath of history and excellent pairing of drinks with tapas. Would highly recommend this tour for families and couples alike. Keith is entertaining and extremely knowledgeable with regards to history of the city as well as he can answer any foodie questions that can be thought of.

Amazing half day tour learning about San Sebastian, the Basque region and discovering Pintxos! Keith was an incredible guide sharing his love of the town, region and local culinary delights. In particular Pintxos and how to pair them with the local wine and ciders. This tour is a must!

Absolutely loved our tour. Despite speaking fluent Spanish- this made the pintxo scene so much more approachable. This is a MUST do in San Sebastián.

A highlight of our trip to Spain, Ane looked after us so well, the food, drinks and location are all amazing. A first class experience and worth every cent.

In our two previous trips to San Sebastián, we struggled to identify those bars that only the locals know. With Keith’s family roots in the city, he not only was able to show us the best places in the Old Town, but was able to banter easily with their owners. It didn’t hurt that Keith knew the perfect drink pairing with each pintxo as well. If you’re looking to find the hidden pintxo gems in San Sebastián, and enjoy talking college football along the way, this is the tour to take.

One of the best walking tours I have been on anywhere in the world! Keith is very knowledgeable about the area, well known in the community and made it very enjoyable. Every pintxos we had was paired with the perfect beverage and accompanied by a brief background explanation. This tour is a must do for anyone visiting San Sebastián!!

We had a great time! Keith taught us so much about the history of the Basque Country. His food and drink recommendations were delicious!

Fantastic tour, Keith was a brilliant guide and his passion for the food really came across. We did this at the start of our trip at the Pintxos can be a little confusing at first!!

We did the combo history/food and beverage tour and it was wonderful! We enjoyed the tour on our first full day. Keith and his tour exceeded our expectations and provided a comprehensive tour of the region and city while introducing us to the rich and delicious foods that it has to offer. Keith also was able to make recommendations on his “must dos” for the remainder of our stay. We wanted to try everything he recommended on our tour (and did) but he does allow for alternate pinxtos if any of his offerings are not appealing to the guest. Highly recommend!

My husband and I were on our honeymoon traveling through Spain and had no idea what a pinxto was. After Keith's tour, we not only know what they are, but how to pronounce it, eat it, order it, and what to drink with it! He was knowledgeable, personable, and fun to walk around with. We were in a group of 8 and he did an excellent job making sure we all had a good time. We will tell anyone we know going to the Basque region to take a tour with Keith! He even went above and beyond to ask his wife to email me a nail salon recommendation!

This food and drink tour is an excellent way to get involved in the delights of San Sebastian pintxos. Keith is super knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. The food and drink pairings were delicious. Had a great time!

If you are in San Sebastián, the first thing you need to do is take this tour with Keith. He started the tour in his office by giving us a history of the area, it’s people and its language. It was really informative. It only got better when we started the tour walking through the old town where all the Pintxo restaurants we visited were located. The places he took us served us the best tasting food we have had in Spain. The food and wine parings were superb and we all tried things that we would not have tried if he had not ordered them for us. We all wished we had the time to take his walking tour of the city.

Start your visit with this tour--you'll be so glad you did. Review of Pintxo Like a Local Food Tour! Keith was fabulous, from quick overview of Basque culture to what pintxos are (NOT tapas) to how to order and enjoy pintxos. Keeping it small group meant there was time to ask questions, get ideas for highlights of San Sebastian, and Keith followed up with more info in an email. Couldn't have asked for better intro to this town.

We toured with Kieth on the first day of our visit. He was super helpful with tips on the area and how/ what to order. He recommended excellent pintxos (paired well with drinks) that we would likely not have ordered ourselves. Highly recommend. The host was very personable and was super easy to chat with.

Exceeded my expecations! Review of Pintxo Like a Local Food Tour! Pending review I couldn't have been more happy with our food tour. Keith is very knowledgable and friendly. He provided not only a delicous samplings of pintxos, but also gave an informative education on the local culture and history of the Basque country. I couldn't recommend this tour more highly! Date of experience: October 2022

A phenomenal tour! Keith is a very warm & engaging host - who treats you like family and is very much a local (with the added bonus of being from the US so touring in English). We visited 5 pintxos bars; all of which were great, and he was also able to recommend a range of restaurants from favorites with the locals to hole-in-the-wall spots to high end fine dining. His intimate knowledge of not just the bars but the cuisine itself and the culture of the Basque people made for an educational tour, but still very relaxed and - most importantly - tasty! I would recommend this 10/10 without hesitation, whether your first time or a repeat visit to San Sebastián!

First class experience! Keith is a friendly host and good communicator, with an excellent knowledge of the local culture, cuisine and history. Pinxtos and wine choices in all our stops were very good. Did this tour at the start of our stay, and would recommend doing it that way, then you get the most out of your visits to the hundreds of other bars in the old town..

Keith was a wealth of knowledge and fun to chat with about his worldly experiences since he was so well travelled and had a lot of great perspectives from his life's experiences! He was awesome because he made us feel very comfortable throughout the tour and made sure we all felt heard by asking us questions and educating on all of the amazing history of beautiful San Sebastian. Th pintxos were out of this world and loved the variety of treats that we were able to try. 10 out of 10 - highly recommend and will 100% refer him to any friends visiting to reach out and do the Pintxo tour with KEITH!

What a way to showcase the culinary AND history side of San Sebastián! Keith is a one-of-a-kind tour guide because he's an English speaking American who understands the interests of travelers, YET he married into a Basque Country culinary family some decades ago and has the complete inside track on local culture! Seeing that his family is well connected generationally to the city, he has a locals touch and bar/restaurant owners know him by name. I did the very wise move and I paired a morning history tour with Keith and in combination, also jumped on the Pintxos Tour to complete my afternoon with an immersive understanding on Donestia/San Sebastián! A surprise for me was how well Keith knew wine and was able to exquisitely pair that with the Pintxos along the tour! Eskerrik asko, Keith!

Keith is a fantastic guide. He gave us a demi glace reduction of Basque history before taking us to some truly authentic locales! His pairings of Pinxto and beverage and history were spot on. I highly recommend starting your trip in S/B with Keith...His suggestions and pointers will enhance the remainder of your time in Basque country!

Highly recommended! My wife and I were very happy that we started our week-long stay in San Sebastián with Keith’s pintxos walking tour. Keith took us to 5 local pintxos bars of Parte Vieja (old town). With Keith’s help, we were able to experience pintxos, wine, and txotx in the traditional manner, along side the local Basque people. He was very knowledgeable on Basque culture and history which complimented the walk nicely. On top of all of this, Keith was just a great person, clearly loving his job. He makes certain that you are enjoying yourself and will go above and beyond to ensure you’re satisfied with his tour. Eskerrik asko Keith!

Had a great day with Keith learning all about the history of the Basque Country and San Sebastián. He has such a great knowledge of the city. And following this up with the pintxo tour is great!! Such an awesome knowledge of where to go and got lots of great tips ‘ recommendations. Definitely recommend this tour. I did the Combo tour. 👍🏽

. I looked at many food tours with locals before deciding on this one, and I am thrilled that I did. Keith and Sandra's pinxto tour is not to be missed! The pinxto bars and pairings that Keith took the group through were absolutely delicious. During the tour Keith provided many local tips that made the rest of my time in Donostia very memorable! Thank you so much!

"6/5, Keith is an absolute stud" When walking to the food tour, I was expecting totally the opposite of what the tour actually ended up being like. I thought there would be multiple people, but it was just my family. I loved how Keith gave us a history lesson too about Basque culture and the arise of Tapas and Pinxtos. This was unexpected but extremly valuable information. He then took us around town to try multiple Pinxtos, and each one was unique and sooooooo good. He knows how to pair the right pinxtos with the right alchroholic bevrage, enriching the flavor of both parties. Keith is such a likeable guy to talk to, and is very knowladgeable about the Basque culture, despite being orignally from America. I highly endorce San Sebastian Walking Tours, especially if you are an American Tourist, as you will connect with Keith the best. Eveyone reading this review should also check out and subscribe to their youtube channel, SCHIMVO ADVENTURES. Overall, my food tour with San Sebastian Walking Tours exceeded all of my expectations, and I recommend it for anyone considering their serivces. P.S. Keith is my role model ;)

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and did the Pinxtos tour on our first full day and we are so glad we did. When we first arrived the evening before, we went to a Pinxtos bar and were quite overwhelmed with both what to order and how to order. The tour the next day cleared that all up for us! Keith was the perfect host and provided a thorough and interesting history behind both San Sebastian and the food culture. He chose AMAZING pinxtos and wine/ciders at each destination and we were able to try things we didn't know existed and/or perhaps wouldn't have picked at first glance. It was exactly what we were looking for to really immerse ourselves in pinxtos the way the locals do. As we walked through the Old Town from one bar to the next, it seemed like Keith knew almost all the locals so we had complete trust that we were with an insider. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting San Sebastian - it is well worth it!

I booked the combo city and pintxos tour. Keith and Sandra were our guides for both tours. While walking through the city giving us history on San Sebastian and the Basque country that I'd never heard of before on any tour. What a great time and when I thought it couldn't get any better the pintxos tour started. Keith and Sandra took us to the top pintxos bars and selected great pintxos and paired them perfectly with wines from all over. Their knowledge on wine and food pairing was on the money. Being a huge foodie I really appreciated that knowledge!!! My best friend and I had an amazing time with Keith and Sandra I can't thank you both enough thank you I hope to see you soon. So if you plan on going to San Sebastian I highly recommend the combo tour it's worth every penny!!!!!!!!More Date of experience: September 2018

We've visited a couple of times with groups we bring to San Sebastian and enjoyed tours both times with Keith and Sandra! What a comfortable walk around the city both times...not like your run-of-the-mill corporate "tour" at all, but more like just strolling around with friends who live in the city. Both of them work together throughout the walk so each place we visited went seamlessly. Great information given with fun ways of understanding and remembering all there is to know about pintxos! I highly recommend taking a tour with Keith and Sandra, especially towards the beginning of your visit to San Sebastian so you can understand this important part of the Basque culture. eskerrik asko!

Keith's walking tour was one of the best (if not THE best) travel experiences I've ever had. If you are headed towards San Sebastian I highly recommend it. He was extremely knowledgable and personable making it well-worth the money. The history section of the tour was fascinating and gave the perfect amount of information. The pintxo part of the tour was incredibly eye-opening, delicious and fun. He gave us insider tips and tricks for eating at pintxo bars and is clearly a favorite among the local bartenders and owners. My travel companion and I have both reflected on this experience as truly one of our favorites. It is a great way to learn more about this beautiful, fun town! Thank you Keith!
