After
arriving
on
the
island
(with
the
intention
to
swim
with
whale
sharks)
we
stumbled
across
this
resort
and
managed
to
speak
with
the
owner.
Upon
meeting
the
owner
(a
European
man),
he
immediately
told
us
there
was
absolutely
no
way
we
could
stay
with
him,
nor
any
possibility
of
swimming
with
whale
sharks
for
he
was
booked
up
for
the
whole
month.
We
politely
asked
him
if
he
knew
of
any
other
accomodation
on
the
island
where
we
could
stay
for
the
night
as
it
was
getting
late
and
we
had
nowhere
to
stay,
he
said
absolutely
not
and
he
was
the
only
place,
we
asked
if
there
were
any
other
ways
to
see
the
whale
sharks
and
he
continued
to
be
unhelpful.
Funnily
enough,
after
a
short
mission
around
the
surrounding
towns,
we
found
a
lovely
little
guest
house,
and
the
following
day
we
met
a
local
scheme
run
by
the
municipality
that
lets
visitors
spend
the
afternoon
searching
and
(luckily
for
us)
swim
with
whale
sharks.
So
in
short,
I
wouldn't
spend
a
dime
at
this
totally
rude
and
unhelpful
persons
resort
and
I
would,
instead,
support
the
local
community
and
island
and
choose
a
homestay
and
then
visit
Sonok
(small
village
just
up
from
Pintuyan)
and
speak
to
the
local
organisation
called
Kasaka
and
a
lovely
man
called
Virgilio,
they
will
charge
you
next
to
nothing
for
a
full
aternoons
trip
and
a
lovely
experience
with
lovely
local
people!
Thank
you
Virgilio!
