The absolute worst hospital in Cebu. The ER is a total joke, they let you wait for hours and hours and then tell you to have an Xray in order to make sure that you're COVID negative. What they don't tell you is they charge you an insane 10000 PHP fee for that simple task. After that you'll have to wait another couple hours before they let you in. In the meantime they're telling you that everyone is busy because of COVID patients BUT you'll see plenty of nurses just sitting there and scrolling on facebook. This hospital is a total rip off and if you seriously need immediate medical attention then please don't go here because they WILL let you DIE in front of their doors. The worst part is they don't care a single bit. It wouldn't be the first time someone actually died while 8 hours for them to do their job. Please don't be that guy and stay away from this place.

Should have checked the reviews before going there. Arrived at emergency room, they made us wait more than 30 minutes while we were the only people there. Tons of idle personnel, poorly organized, questionable screening, offered to do useless procedures because they didn't ask the right questions, postponed insurance matters to later. They really could care less about making people wait. Gotta shake that entire department to care about the patients time. Will go to UC med mandaue next time that is very close by. Not going back unless I have no other option.

The WORST ER experience!!! Based on my recent experience at Chonghua Hospital Mandaue's ER department, I can say that the service was subpar. Some of the staff seemed to have an attitude, the process was frustratingly slow (waited for 9hrs just to be admitted due to UTI), and construction noise made the atmosphere even more unpleasant. I was disappointed that I was even charged for parking when my loved one was admitted, which does not seem like good customer service. It is imperative that hospitals prioritize patient satisfaction and efficiency. I hope that my review can encourage the hospital administration to take steps to improve their services.

Had our first baby here and took their OB package. Nurses and doctors treated me and my wife with respect and kindness throughout the whole experience. Second last check-up ended up in an emergency c-section which was carried out very professionally and my wife recovered very well and was ready for discharge in two days. Our baby was treated for pneumonia and jaundice in the NICU for a week after the delivery, newborn care was very professional too. They are also very informative and helpfully gave advice to new parents. On top of these, my wife developed a severe postpartum preeclampsia which required an ER visit, she was admitted fast and received professional care for this too. C-section total cost about 50k, 8 days in level-2 NICU for the newborn about 50k as well and the ER visit and admission for 1,5 days was around 30k. Well worth it with a healthy baby and wife despite the complications we experienced. Add the prenatal laboratories etc and the total cost for unscheduled c-section, week in neonatal intensive care for the baby and a postpartum ER visit was around 150k. I'm happy we chose chong hua and would definitely recommend it. On the downside, the waiting time in outpatient section, laboratory, admitting and billing was sometimes horrible with normal checkups taking a whole day with many hours of waiting time. One blood bank employee was also very rude. They could improve the management and waiting times, 8-11 hours for a normal prenatal checkup is just a horrible experience when it goes to that. Despite this, I would still recommend it, probably one of the best hospitals in the Visayas and Mindanao area.

As the last review states, this place is horrible. Unless you’re near death, you will not be given much attention in the ER. They have quite a few staff who only sits and chats. After waiting for sometime, I asked for an update only to get a “unsa diay problema” (what’s the problem?) by the same staff who had processed me when I walked in. She maybe special-Ed or just plain slow. The doctor that was there finally gave me a real update that took 1 min to deliver, which was we’re full and can’t help you. This would have much been much better upfront (this hospital is just focused on prices and facility - intelligence and empathy from the staff seem to be lacking). Horrible experience for supposedly the “better option” when it comes to hospital care.

The slowest experience in my entire life. Only junior doctors, they can't even put 2 stitches, they are sending me other place. Slow in every single step... they charge even for the water. They tried to scam me ordering way more X-RAY that I needed.

Experience is awfully unexpected. Went to ER for unexplained abdominal pain and expected urgent care but unfortunately it took me 7 hours until I was given pain meds with no food and drink. I was admitted and waited another 4 hours to get into my room. Weekend makes it worst for this hospital as no available radiologist are there to read your imaging results and have to do extra pay to have it on stat. Some staffs were good to deal with but some were very unaccommodating. Private room looks old with molds on the ceiling. Overall, our experience is not worth penny that we have to spend in this expensive facility. Poor management!

My son has been sick for three day we were here the day before and my son was just advised to take paracetamol and thats it. After 24 hrs we went back because he still have a fever and now his stomach is aching we were in the ER lying 4 hours with my son I even fall asleep waiting. Im thinking probably they have already forgotten us. But to my surprise when I went to the nurse station they dont have a pediatric doctor on duty for 4 effin' hours. I ask those on the nearby ward to my sons and they were there for more than 6 to 8 hours!!Genius..ER means emergency room for crying outloud!!

There are only 2 staff nurses on the floor working very long hours for about 11 hours. I heard they only pay the 1 hour OT instead of 3 hours. Don't think with there will be quality care to patients considering the understaffing and the exhaustion nurses experience at the end of their shift. Facility wise it is great. Rooms are very nice and comfortable since it's a new hospital. Patients also get to choose their hospital food from a menu which is great, esp. if you have lifestyle/religious food preferences.

Worst ER experience in my life! The ER nurse made us wait for almost 3hrs but in the end we didn’t get any medical treatment. Please do yourself a favor.. avoid this hospital at all cost especially if you or any of your loved ones really need emergency care.

The only positive thing I can say is that you can get tests completed and their results returned quickly. However, seeing the doctor in this hospital is a very painful and time consuming experience. Most don’t show up on time, if at all. And the waiting areas are full of people blaring noise from their phones at competing volumes. It is not pleasant at all.

Went to the ER at 3PM to get urgent care for my child who got an accident and had an open wound and was bleeding. A resident doctor was available at 4PM after some persistence on my part. After assessment, we were able to schedule an operation at 10PM. After 7 hours of waiting, the operation was moved to 11PM, but past 11PM, it still did not happened. Almost midnight, they said to move the operation the following day at 4PM! WTH?! They didn’t even give a reason why aside from “doctor said so”. I was livid! I insisted on having the operation that time and I wasn’t going to accept no for an answer. In the end, we were able to get an operation at 1AM with another surgeon. The operation only took less than 30mins and 2 hours post anesthesia recovery. We were hit with an above average bill because operation was “off hours” and “without appointment” (like it’s our fault?) This hospital might have the equipment and systems needed for a good hospital but I can’t say anything good about the rest of our overall hospital experience. They say they “exist to heal with passion and care with compassion.” Right, passion is 2/10 and there is no where in our experience that I felt cared for. I wished I went to another hospital. There are other choices. I wouldn’t go back here unless it’s a matter of life and death. * name of the pediatric surgeon who bailed out last minute without any reason given is Dr. Noel Astrologo.

Clean, friendly and fast. But I only had some infected wounds on my leg, not so badly injured. The doctor was not that professional but OK for me. I told them I pay myself (foreigner with travel insurance), No question about money till all was done and I went out after payment. I would come again!

hello. We do not understand this hospital service 0. We go there for many years for doctors and others. Every time we are asking informations, they send prices!? This is the last thing to give. Specially the check-up service, many questions asked about the tests, no answer, it is not cheap and not very standard compared to western health service... Health and SERVICES are the same-thing for an hospital. So improve your service. Have a nice day. (an European)

Im a firstime mom and Only me and bf at the hospital. I gave birth at Chonghua Mandaue over all I paid 200k pesos (no exageration) for 2 weeks. First night i held my baby from Nursing room after birth he still has blood and no clothes on. I gave them all the baby stuffs needed for baby room. (. I didnt complain, i have no idea it shouldn't be like that) Second day i noticed he still unwashed. Now the nurse called he has infection. Reason why we need to stay for 2weeks. Those infection has many factors, either unwashed properly and the baby sucking his hand. One incident aswell, They took the baby for bathing at 9pm (usual bathing time as they said, i didnt know should bathe baby at night coz its cold!!!) they brought back the baby to me unclothe, i asked why is he unclothe and ur strolling him in the air-cond hall way? Nurse answered, i thought he doesnt need to be clothe (which his change are always provided) on vaccine time for my baby, 12 in 1 vax and anti pollio i was expecting its worth 3,500 - 5k max. They charged me 10k?!!!! WORST HOSPITAL AND NO CARE HOSPITAL EVER. Reviews are true that this is the worst hospital ever. More worst story during my labor!! I just have no more time to tell all.

Very poor service! I was referred by an IM to the ER after an accident with a fire extinguisher which caused the dry chemicals to go in my eyes. I arrived at the hospital around 4:30 pm and was initially denied by the ER nurse due to the high number of patients in the ER. I explained to the nurse what happened to my eyes and showed him the referral. He advised that I can wait in the ER but will be seen by an MD at night or early morning the following day. I interpreted this experience as a form of denial of medical care. He then referred me to the ophthalmology dept. I went to the eye center and was advised that the eye MD already left and no one could help me. I realized I couldn't get any help from them and decided to drive to another hospital even if my eyes were hurting. When I exited the parking area I was asked to pay the parking fee which added insult to the injury. I only stayed there for several minutes and I was not given any medical care, yet I was asked to pay the parking fee. I expected this hospital to be the best in Cebu, but this experience ended to be a big disappoinment.

Please Don't go here! Turned out to be a pryariah-hospital ! Went in for pneumonia and barely got out with my life. They charge you for everything! Used a pressure breather - charged $100/day. The four techs maintaining unit made $500. They stopped giving me IV's to weaken me. They just sucked out all $ from account and left me in worse shape! I cryed to leave the place. Left me dehydrated, weak, barely able to stand and $8000 poorer. Please, heed my warning! Don't go there if you value your life and all that's dear to you!

The worst Executive Medical Check up. It's been 2 months and still missing results. No response to several follow up emails. All they care is the money you pay, even without the outcome of the service. Stay away from this place. Disgusting practice of business.

From Security Guards to Nurses--3 Thumbs up.The nurses are detailed in giving me the steps of a particular diagnostic test i had undergone. In the Ultrasound Dept., the staff are cool!! even if they're having at least a hundred patient for that day. Wow! Oh likewise the Doctors!

I had a motorcycle accident in Mandaue and ended up here for 8 days. They took a lot of X Rays and somehow didn't see the LARGE fracture to my collarbone (clearly visable) along with my 5 broken ribs. I was the one to tell them it was broken, to which the "doctor", maybe 31 yrs old, said "no it is not broken, see (pressing down on it with his thumb). I yelled out and he said: "oh, maybe it is broken". I was helpless to do anything and while the nursing staff was good, the circus of intern "doctors" (all in their late 20's) coming in to my room and asking me what other doctors had said, was crazy. I must have had 5 or 6 interns and 2 doctors who were supposed to know my case but it was typical, disorganized confusion in the Philippines. Again, the nurses were the only ones who were any good. I was the one who insisted on leaving because they really were not doing anything except administering Tramadol for pain. They tried to make me stay ($$$$) and were a bit upset that I was leaving without their approval. In reponse, they took away my pain medicine and told me to take Ibuprofen and Paracetmol, the same thing you take for a headache or toothache. Consequently I sufferred quite a lot. This place would honestly never be allowed to operate in Western countries.

First off, I would like to send my regards to the nurses that took care of me when I was undergoing operation. The facility was welcoming, the bedsheets were clean, the service was excellent, and the extra mile provided to me by the staff was laudable. They also have various stalls which I did enjoy while I was waiting for my turn, it was peaceful enough for me to calm down while I was having a nervous mental breakdowns due to fear. In conclusion, Chong Hua Hospital has not only followed their protocols in providing their patients medical attention, they're also commendable by providing them the mental and emotional care that a patient really needs, especially if they don't have someone to lend an ear or give a pat in the back for their traumatic experience with an illness.

Please avoid the nurse Franz at ER specially if your patient is just a kid. NEVER let him do IV insertion. He's showing NO PATIENCE, CURSED my son, and uses too much force for a 4yr old kid. He knows the vein already collapsed, but still tries to force the IV even deeper. I'm not sure if that is still appropriate, but if not...he may need some guidance and review his knowledge about it. I don't have great medical knowledge, but you know when your kid is in pain caused by someone else.

After talking to the hotline operator they told me they have speeda vaccine and I just need to go to the ER. Upon arriving the staff doesn’t even know what speeda vaccine is. In the previous hospital I went I just need to get the vaccine and get out. Here they made me wait for 2 freaking hours saying I need to talk to the doctor for the doctor to just ask me where I was bitten. I know it is necessary to know the history but I don’t think i have to wait just for that question. Plus this is just a follow up vaccine. I even brought my card for them to check my history. Wasted so much time for this. And as of right now I am still waiting for the vaccine to arrive it’s been 30 mins since the doctor left. 🤦‍♀️ Update: vaccine arrived now waiting for the bill. While waiting for hours and hours it is very disrespectful and infuriating to hear staff saying “tiktok muna tayo” while the patients are waiting for hours. I know they might be busy but I don’t think that it is a place to say that. I am really disappointed with this. Thinking that I have so much respect for this hospital since they took care of me during my gall bladder removal only for the ER to stain their reputation. 😒

My experience at Chong Hua Hospital was truly exceptional. Doctors, nurses, and all hospital personnel were all very friendly. The hospital's cutting-edge facilities left a lasting impression, and the convenience of a one-stop-shop for healthcare needs will make any patient visit all the more convenient. The hospital's commitment to maintaining a modern and well-equipped environment is commendable. Thank you for your commitment to excellence in healthcare!
