This was my second time at Amangiri. First time was August 2020 during covid and while they were lacking in many minimum standards for even a 4 star hotel, I didn't think much of it due to the global situation and they were operating at 25% capacity at the time. I have stayed in the top luxury places all over and when talking about the west (St Barth, St Tropez, Europe, Aspen) this place does not meet the minimum level. I never leave reviews but since I'm not happy with me wasting my time getting to this remote location, I want to save other people the time/money. I to Amangiri returned in October 2022 as I wanted to show my mom the unique location and spend time in a quiet luxury resort. Was a mistake. Paid $8850 in American Express points for two nights and thankfully we were able to check out after one night and escape. Keep in mind my review is based on Amangiri being a $4-5000.night luxury resort. We honestly slept better at the Hilton Garden inn in St George the night before with friendlier staff. We arrived at 12pm and had to wait 5 hours for our room after letting the hotel know of our arrival time months in advance. We watched other guests check in and be led to their room. We had driven for some time and an offer to use the spa would have been nice. When reserving two months before we asked for two beds instead of one. We were surprised to see two cot/mobile beds that were much too small and could not accommodate us. We are 6'0 and 5'4 but we have never seen such small single beds. Also the TV is 20" inches max. Try to find a pi Food was not on the level of a nice restaurant in any big us or international city. Maybe because it's all inclusive there is not much effort but you can get a much better meal at any nice restaurant. We made just one request two months before arriving of no pork, which was not accommodated. We received pork on our dishes twice in our three meals there. The service was not on par with any sort of luxury resort at this level. Young and inexperienced staff. We came across one waitress who was from the local Navajo tribe. She was amazing and it's nice that there was some effort to integrate the locals. However she was the only one who had a nice attitude and was friendly. I forgot her name but we enjoyed talking to her and learning about the local culture. I had called to inquire as to some local activates hiking etc. I was surprised to see they were already confirmed without my consent. When I was informed of this shortly after check in I asked for them to be cancelled. I was told there is a 24-hour cancellation policy and that they could not be cancelled. Since I did not confirm any activities I insisted and was met with resistance. eventually the hotel agreed and cancelled them. On the on excursion I did confirm (horseback ride) the hotel added 15% on to total of the $750 for a 1 hour experience. It should have been 3 hours and the 15% should have been stated to me. However I paid this as I was checking out and was just happy to be able to leave a day early considering the lack of standards. The best part was they allowed us to check out a day early. It is now Dec 26 over two months later and the hotel FINALLY refunded me the second night after 10+ calls to Amex and hours on the phone. They did not refund the full amount they were supposed to. Only partial. Amex had to cover the rest. A shame and please save your hard earned money. For this price you can do better.

"Two nights for $15k+ " Definitely the worst experience we've ever had. This is the 4th time we've been back to this resort, and also probably will be the last time. Upon arrival, the gate to the resort didn't work, waited for 10 mins, and finally an employee can't wait to leave, so we got in the gate. What a way to welcome your guests! Ha And the manger stood there by the valet told me he didn't know what happened at the gate. Ok dude Got to the room, trying to order some food, the phone didn't work, can't even make a call to order food. Ceiling fan in the bedroom was not working they had to replace it. Fridge was not cold, they had to bring a small fridge. The outdoor lamp didn't work as well. Man, for over $6k per night, can't even get the basic stuff to work is ridiculous. Told the manager how upset I was, she said oh so sorry to ruin your trip, and there's nothing she can do! Can't believe we are spending money to be stressed out instead of having a great experience. What a joke this place, felt like we were staying at some motel lol The in room dining food is pretty bad, dry burger and bad chicken sandwich, old stale chips and brown guac. Breakfast is pretty bad as well. Bacon and eggs were not good ...Pancake taste like biscuit lol How can someone mass up breakfast items? Dinner at the camp restaurant was ok, we are not impressed at all. The main amangiri restaurant food was better but still pretty mediocre. Also, the bugs are out of control here, at night bugs are everywhere, in the drinks, in the bed, in the pool etc Forget about chilling outdoor, ugh..they need to have some bug repellent around the outdoor and indoor areas. The best part of this trip was the mocktails, they were good and refreshing! So glad to leave this place and go back to our comfortable home:)

Update: An Amangiri rep reached out and made some overture of a slight reimbursement but after due thought, I must be honest about my two night stay here. I enjoy luxury travel often and this experience was horrible throughout. The luxury car picked us up & the driver was pleasant but the bullet hole in the windshield and the fact that the car greatly needed to be washed was disappointing. Arriving at the resort, there was a notable oil stain up all of the front stairs. We went to lunch. All of the produce was wilted and somewhat brown and a half opened pack of sugar stood prominently in the sweetner bowl; rather disgusting, truthfully. There was virtually nothing to do other than spa services which were satisfactory but not worth it. They could not provide hot air balloons rides as was advertised but they had a creepy live snake and scorpion presentation. The room was minimalist in decor but the bed was low and had a very sharp step leading to it. The room's television was undersized and hard to hear. While sitting near the pool, waitstaff was not to be seen to take drink orders but they would show up instantaneously when we were about to leave. In other words, we were watched from behind the glass doors; a bit odd, indeed. Although extremely hot out, we went for a swim. We went into the hot tub but did not initially notice the thousands of dead flies in the water. Each meal featured wilted/brown produce which ended up with one of our party having gastro problems on the last day. A cocktail at dinner was made with spoiled grapefruit juice. I asked for a replacement drink -- willing to pay for the spoiled on. On our bill, we were charged for two additional drinks we did not order. Supposedly, this place is largely staffed by interns learning the trade. For more than $4900. nightly, I expect someone to be clued in. Upon arriving home, I immediately wrote and said I wanted to speak to upper management about our disasterous stay. I was advised that someone would be in touch immdiately. No one contacted me so within 3 weeks I started this review which flushed a rep out. With tales of Bieber and Kardashian staying here, they will continue to hook in unsuspecting guests. We spoke to outside vendors who independently recounted that the NY folks who held the big wedding there were extremely disappointed from start to finish. They should truly be ashamed at how they are conducting themselves regardless of the income they are producing.

My husband and I stayed in a Mesa Suite for 4 nights in March. If you've traveled a lot then you know that after a while, a hotel is a hotel is a hotel... what we are always looking for is a special type of energy in a place, where we can really be at peace and relax, and where the service level strikes a certain balance between being polite and accommodating, but not over the top or bothersome. My fear was that due to its popularity on social media, Amangiri might have a kind of manufactured ambiance with lackluster service (you know the resorts that have beautiful architecture but feel empty in terms of their core identity). What we found instead was the staff were kind and welcoming, service was great, and the food was decent. The spa was lovely. We had a facial with Cindy and deep tissue massage with Heather, and both were fantastic. We were in an accident roadtripping up from Arizona, and they offered us a complimentary crystal sound bath when we arrived. It was a kind gesture, and we both enjoyed it. Most importantly, Amangiri has that special energy we're always seeking that makes us want to return. Amangiri is the real deal. Go and enjoy it.

The experience advisor is a joke. They will not contact with you immediately when they had a response from the vendor. They will only alert and contact with you when you physically meet during the lobby. Be warned if you need to arrange the activity with them. Not sure when they had a such nightmare experience activity team. Once they help you to book an activity, you will not get the confirmation. Instead, you need to double or even triple check with them to get the confirmation. Otherwise, you are not be officially booked.

Seems like a great place, but I would prefer they be a bit more up front about their restaurant reservations. We're going to be in the area, and we thought it would be nice to stop up for lunch at say 3pm. It's never crowded at 3pm, but they are always "fully booked". They really should just say that "restaurants are not open to outside guests". Seems simpler that way.

We had heard a lot about this amazing place but had never taken the time to go. It was such a fantastic experience and the atmosphere was surreal. It’s very different from many other five star resorts we have visited all around the world. It has a very minimalistic feel while also having everything you need or could want. The food was fantastic along with the morning hike to the cave. We met some great people which added to the wonderful experience. We did also take time to visit the spa which was also very minimalistic but the treatments were probably the best we have ever had even in the finest places. We were a little sad that the steam room was not in working order as that’s always so enjoyable in the dry weather. But honestly the treatment was so fantastic you quickly forget about those basic amenities when you have so many other fantastic magical places they have created all around the resort to enjoy! I’m almost glad they didn’t have it otherwise I may not have taken the time to appreciate the thought and work that has gone into creating each magical area. If you really wanna get away from everything and feel like you travel to another universe we would highly recommend… Amangiri🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼. Steve & Julie Weintraub Gold & Diamond Source

Wanted to take a moment to review the Amangiri and give it 5 stars. Anyone giving it any less has no idea what they are talking about. The stay was incredible from start to finish. The hotel is unlike any other and the staff and service exceeded my expectations. We have stayed at Hotels all over the world and this place is special. We will be back every year! Special thanks to Derek with the experience team for all of his care, attention to detail and effort and Pantelis for making sure everything was absolutely perfect.

An amazing hotel and trip. The excursions that the hotel offers are so special- horse back riding, boating, and canyon slot tours were all amazing experiences that were beautiful and that i’ll remember forever. My only complaint is that for a 5 star hotel, the hotel itself- while in a stellar view and location- was not out of this world. I expected more from the inside. Also, the golf carts were very hard to drive. However, everything else about this hotel- the service, amenities, views, were top notch. It was such a treat to be able to stay here.

Worth every penny!! Amangiri is the most serene, secluded, quiet & peaceful resort I’ve experienced. The staff is attentive & thoughtful. There are 15 miles of trails & a cave to explore on the property. Dogs (especially Oliver, pictured) are welcomed & adored by everyone (mostly by Kauri). Ask for Sanchez if you want the most intuitively healing massage of your life. I can’t say enough about this place! They had to tear me out of my room kicking and screaming.

Amangiri, that high-end desert spot out in Utah, is like, totally epic. It's smack in the middle of the desert, and the views are off the charts, man. The architecture is, like, crazy cool, mixing stone, steel, and glass so it blends right in with the desert vibe. You've got all sorts of digs there, from suites to swanky villas, and they're all tricked out with fancy stuff and killer views. If you're into the great outdoors, you can do all kinds of rad stuff like hiking, horseback riding, and desert adventures. And don't get me started on the spa and the food - it's all top-notch. Amangiri's got that chill, zen vibe with world-class service and serious natural beauty. But, like, it's gonna cost ya, for sure.

This resort is on stolen public lands. Thanks to our corrupt politicians like Senator Hatch this land is now only accessible to the filthy rich. The new American way.

Amangiri is not just a resort; it's an experience. Nestled in the foothills of the Escalante National Monument in Utah, this exclusive haven is a testament to luxury and seclusion. As a seasoned travel blogger, I've had the privilege of staying in some of the world's most luxurious hotels, but Amangiri stands in a league of its own. The journey begins with a drive reminiscent of a James Bond film. An unmarked road off Highway 89 leads you to a discreet gate, where only a reservation number grants you access. As you wind your way through the breathtaking landscape, you're subtly introduced to the grandeur that awaits. The resort itself is a masterclass in architecture and design. Crafted with sand from its surroundings, Amangiri blends seamlessly into the landscape, offering framed views that trick the eye into believing you're looking at paintings. The integration of nature is evident everywhere, from the pool that hugs a massive rock formation to rooms that open up to the vastness of the desert, making the outside world feel like an extension of your living space. Nightfall at Amangiri is a celestial spectacle, with the inky skies offering an astrological show that can be enjoyed right from your patio. The accommodations are spacious, embracing nature's elements, and the open bathrooms with expansive windows make you feel like you're bathing amidst the desert. While the resort's remoteness might suggest limited dining options, the inclusive meals are a welcome treat, however I was not that impressed with the food. It was very good, just not as great as I might expect from such an exclusive resort. Every corner of Amangiri, from its cozy nooks to its vast open spaces, exudes serenity. It's not just a stay; it's an immersion into a world of luxury, nature, and tranquility. A bucket-list destination for those seeking an unparalleled retreat.

Offering the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, Amangiri may be the most luxurious resort in all of North America. The architecture flawlessly shapes the bright Utah sunlight into relaxing indirect beams during the day; and in the evening, the property is illuminated with limitless candles.

I apologize I am now just getting around to writing this review as we stayed at Amangiri in February. It not only exceeded expectations it has become the gold standard of luxury accommodations for us. Everywhere we stay - we compare it to Amangiri. As a fan of Aman properties, Amangiri is special. The property is stunning, the attention to detail in how Amangiri is hidden into the backdrop of the canyons, the pool, the zen-like peacefulness and secluded accommodations is much appreciated. We love how Amangiri has 'thoughtfully' incorporated the Navajo culture, traditions and foods such as the pancakes (which are amazing!!!) into the experience. The level of service is not a 5-star, it's 10-star. From the moment we drove up in which the valet greeted us by name (really how in the world did they know?!!!) to how the staff remembers your name and your room Amangiri truly wants your stay to be peaceful, relaxing and memorable. (Mission accomplished) Our room offered stunning views out through the mesa and canyons. At night we have never seen so many stars it was awesome! No matter which property we dined the food was excellent, however I do have to mention dinner at Camp Sarika. The Chef surprised me by making a special cake for my birthday and then taking the time to explain the type of cake. It was the icing on the cake (no pun intended) for this trip. While there we also took advantage of a private canyon tour trip well worth it!! We cannot wait to go back!

I would like to say a special thanks for warmly welcoming me and my friends to Amangiri. When I heard "welcome home" it's immediately changed the whole experience, to begin with. I loved how friendly and carrying people were around me to make sure my stay is comfortable. Loved the scent and unique architecture. Location. Complimentary morning fitness classes. Spa facilities. A gift waiting for us in the room had me at "Awe" and many more, I can go on and on. Especially loved Navajo nights and their stories with musical instruments. Amangiri is a very beautiful and hidden gem in the dessert. So magically mysterious and easy to fall in love with. I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for making me feel at home. Every single person made my stay very special and I was delighted by that. It was very sad to leave you but I am looking forward to coming back soon again. Please, share my experience with your team. They are all amazing and we noticed the extra mile they did for us. Blessings!

An extraordinary experience in every aspect. Exceptional location, rooms perfect, and every member of the staff no matter their role is professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and warm. The service makes you feel like one big hug and enhances your level of enjoyment and relaxation . Last, but definitely not lest is the food. Every meal is a wonderful treat. Flavors that are subtly complex, yet simple at the same time. Fresh local ingredients burst with flavor throughout the meal. Superb kitchen

What an Amazing experience. First of all, the Staff go above and beyond, Becky, Kay and many more staff ( i’m sorry that i forgot the names). Our first time here in Amangiri, and it was a worth every penny experiences. The property has a sweeping spectacular views of the Grand staircase- Escalante National monument, the property was secluded, private, and quiet. Service was amazing, food was amazing and I’ve been to a lot of inclusive 5 stars resort but for some reason, this place is what i expected to be for that much money to spend, it wws definitely worth it. What makes it more memorable for me is, the Chef at Camp Sarika ( where we had dinner to celebrate my birthday) prepared a birthday cake for me eventhough it was such a short notice. Thank you for that, our dinner also amazing, loved it. Then we came back to our room from dinner, we walked to a room full of petal roses, nice slow music, candles and chocolate covered strawberries. And since we were too full, we didn’t even cut my cake, then our waiter told us that they can keep it then bring it back to us for breakfast. And yup, i had my birthday cake again in my room for breakfast. I will definitely be back for warmer season and definitely recommend this place to my family and friends.

I have stayed at Amangiri twice, and both times I have left feeling elated with the service and facility. The rooms are austere and modern, but the most luxurious bed is your private sleeping loft outside under the desert stars.

The best trip of my life. I’m from Italy and I’m very picky. I must say this one is one of the best places in America. Everything perfect. The property is beautiful, the food is good. The people staying there are super classy (which for me is a plus). You also can do a lot of activities. We did a full road trip from Phoenix through Grand Canyon and then Las Vegas. We visited antelope canyon, horseshoe bend. We did also the ferrata organised by them which was amazing. They organised my husband birthday perfectly. 10/10. Thank you so much.

After travelling the world I can confidently say that Amangiri is my most favourite place on this earth. It holds my most dearest memories and will forever stay with me. The natural beauty surrounding the resort, the sun sets and the caring staff make this well deserving of its reputation. Although my stay was back in 2020, I wanted to give a special thanks to Ms. Huttert and Ms. Farley for completing a special request of mine with such genuine emotion. Yet again highlighting the lengths Amangiri staff go for us, I will be forever grateful and look forward to returning soon.

What can I tell you about Amangiri? It’s a magical place, where you can feel yourself relax from the minute you arrive, until you leave. The architecture is beautiful and unique, blending in with its surroundings. The service is impeccable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. -The food is delicious, with many vegetarian options. The food is delicious, the service is excellent and you will be treated like royalty. -It’s a place where you will want to spend at least a week, so that you can enjoy all that Amangiri has to offer. The rooms are beautiful, with high ceilings and large windows that let in plenty of natural light. -There’s a view of the red cliffs from every room, which is simply breath-taking. The resort is located in a remote area of Utah, so you will need to drive for at least an hour to get there. There are no shops or restaurants nearby, so if you want something other than Amangiri’s food then you have to drive even further into town. This is an exclusive luxury experience, so be prepared to have your mind blown away. There are only a few rooms at the resort, and each one is unique. The architecture of Amangiri is truly stunning, and the heated pool is just what you need after hiking the nearby Antelope Canyon reserve. The Spa at Amangiri is reasonably priced for the quality of service you receive and is just so peaceful, beautifully decorated, calming, and the masseuses will solve all of your aches from hiking around in the desert. This is an outdoor adventure kind of place, as there are many hiking trails nearby that lead to beautiful waterfalls and canyons. There is no cellphone service coverage but there is WiFi (for those more addicted to the net) at the resort. But you should truly try to unplug from modern life for a few days. This is a MUST EXPERIENCE for avid travelers and travelers looking for a luxurious getaway. I highly recommend this resort to anyone wanting a truly unique experience.

This place is incredible!!! First, the setting. It’s a combination of Joshua Tree and Sedona physically speaking. They nailed the site selection! It’s like God shaped the landscape. It is perfect. Beautiful rock formations, desert flora perfectly distributed, the sunsets are mind blowing, etc. The rooms are spacious, stylish, well appointed. All in the customary minimalist design of Aman hotels around the world. Just cannot beat this brand! I will say that at this price, you’d think the rooms might have their own little dipping pool. But they have their own very cool fire pits, which is unique. And star gazing from your little patio? Epic. They don’t sell that feature well enough. It’s amazing. Maybe it’s a surprise. But it is special. Staff are so lovely. Every single one of them. And they’re from all over the world, which is fun. You can tell they’re hand picked and for the most part, well trained (only suggestion is to up the tempo on asking guests if they want something). Leave your room for something and it seems they clean it every time you leave, which is so nice. Extremely efficient. The food? Absurdly great!!! The chef and his staff are artisans. The bartender is a genius. We couldn’t wait to eat and drink here. Room service is quick and efficient too. Pool is glorious. One of the best I’ve ever seen. Would be a wise move to screen the parking lot and the noise of tires on gravel. But the pool is built around a massive rock formation. And just a perfect temp. Fantastic day bed configuration all around it. Spa? Perfect 10. Our massage therapists were gifted specialists. Stylish, dialed in on every detail, inviting, truly magnificent. One of the best ever. Pilates instructor is amazing, gym is a bit small but fine given there are only about 35 rooms here. Well equipped! Getting here isn’t the nightmare we thought it would be. If you’re gonna stay only a few days, flying private both ways is not the most prudent choice, even if you can afford it. You can fly into Page Muni, commercial, from Phoenix. Short flight and the airport is maybe 20 mins from the hotel. We went to Vegas for a Cirque show and then drove up, takes about 4.5 hours, and are flying private home. That feels slightly less ridiculous. But if you’re staying a week here, private makes more sense if you wanna feel completely refreshed. Then you’re 90 mins from the Bay! Or about 2 hours from Austin. And you can tell they’re trying to figure out more efficient ways to reach this magical place. Concierge needs a bit of work. Were unresponsive to my wife on a few questions prior to arrival. Fouled up Pilates class schedule. One guy handed me a piece of paper with marina phone numbers on it when we wanted to tour the lake. Their two partner marinas were sold out so in their eyes I was hosed. If you don’t book a guided tour through them, they basically don’t help you? We don’t need a guide…So my assistant found an amazing group last minute on Fourth of July weekend where we got a fantastic jet ski and then a wake boat. Lake Powell Experience. Incredible!!!! But the concierge of a resort where you’re paying 3-4k a night should tirelessly find you that boat and that ski until all options are exhausted, period. Not your assistant. There are only about four rental places. Would have taken only a few mins to track them down. In fairness, they somewhat made up for it by giving us a great BMW for half the day. No charge. The fleet is fantastic and complementary. So don’t rent a car! Guests like me who are athletic need more to do. The mountain bike guide is great but he only has one option for you, which the resort could easily fix. They could build many miles of trails on property for next to nothing. So they should do that. We would have stayed longer, but I’m longing for my sporting life and headed back to the Bay this afternoon. Wanted to stay all weekend. We are 1000 percent coming back here!!! Soon!

My wife and I were passing through Page and discovered once there that there was an Aman. Nice surprise, the hotel is located in the middle of canyons and the architecture of the hotel blends perfectly into the decor that surrounds it. The place is breathtaking. The pool suite offers breathtaking views of the canyons. In total immersion
