I recently had the opportunity to visit the Archdiocesan Museum of Cebu during Gabii sa Kabilin and was thoroughly impressed by its stunning collection of religious artifacts and exhibits. The museum offers a captivating glimpse into the rich and diverse history and culture of the Philippines and is a must-visit destination for those interested in the country's cultural heritage. The museum's building itself is an architectural marvel, its traditional Spanish colonial style lending a further sense of historical importance and cultural significance to the exhibits within. The knowledgeable and helpful staff further contribute to the experience, offering valuable insights and contextualization for the museum's collections.

This museum shows everything about Cebu's Christian faith journey. A must-see so you'll understand the faith roots of Cebuanos and the whole Philippines as well. It's just beside the Cebu Cathedral.

This museum consist of mainly religious & historical antiques, and memorable stuffs such as paintings, stamps, crafts, written copies, photos.. The rich collections enable us to understand the background & history of the religion in Cebu. Entrance fee is quite high compare to some other museums that are free of charge or with local tour guide, if you are very specifically interested in religion or it's relevant history in Cebu, this museum provided sufficient information & coverage.

This place is all about Christian history, so if you're not a believer, there's almost nothing to do there. I was way more interested in the history of the building itself but during that cultural event no guide was available, too many people were inside.

During my college years in Cebu City, I never had the opportunity to visit the Achdiocesan Museum. However, despite its ancient exterior, I found the museum to be very welcoming. Inside, one can view a variety of regional artifacts. I took this photo during a seminar in 2016.

Tourists and even local residents should visit this museum along with other museums nearby. These are the right places to learn the history of our place. For a very small fee of Php50, we could learn so much about rich history and culture.

The Cathedral Museum of Cebu is a museum in Downtown Cebu City in the Philippines, (re)opened in November 2006. It is the ecclesiastical museum of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cebu. The focus of the museum is regional Church architecture and artifacts, an old (spanish era) house and a lot of statues. Many of the items on display are from the Spanish colonial times.

In the museum you'll find religious relics, including images of Mother Mary, Jesus, and saints. You'll also see materials that were to build houses, establishments, etc. in the 19th century. There are a lot more artifacts and old images from the history of Catholicism in the city.

Overall it's good. Just, hoped restroom had tissues or soap to wash your hand. And not combined for both genders. Maybe because it's still under construction? Not sure.

The Archdiocesan Museum of Cebu provides a captivating exploration of Cebu City's religious and historical heritage. With its diverse collection of artifacts and artworks, the museum beautifully showcases the region's deep-rooted Catholic faith and artistic expressions. If you want to know about Cebu's catholic history, you may visit this one. Displays are more of Cardinal Vidal's items. There are also displays educating the visitors on the flow of the mass, parts of the altar, items used in the ceremony. A must view is the numerous monstrance displayed on the first floor.

Tried to visit this museum, but the racist policies made me not bother. They wanted to charge me more for being a foreigner just by looking at the colour of my skin. So disappointing for a religion that supposedly promotes inclusion. Avoid this racist establishment.

It was so elegant for me. And also very breathtaking. I just love the designs and also, I liked how it still looked antique. I love how they preserved the Cathedral Church.

The place is rich in church history, dedicated to a single person who became a cardinal, though still undergoing renovations at the time of our visit. Stil a good place to immerse yourself with the culture of the Roman Catholic religion

I guess it's the most underrated and accesible old house in downtown cebu. It can also give you this Spanish Colonial Period feels more especially if you come inside. Old church bells, canons, original sleeping beds of the past archibishops of cebu and ornaments are there. But the most beautiful of all are statues with some dating back to 16th century. If you're a religious & history savy type of person, then this would be your perfect place.
