Attention:
Stampede
Incident
at
Icon
Club
Cebu
-
Urgent
Awareness
Required!
I
want
to
bring
your
attention
to
a
distressing
incident
that
took
place
last
night
at
Icon
Club
in
Cebu.
My
friends
and
I
were
enjoying
ourselves
at
a
table
on
the
first
floor
when
a
sudden
and
unexpected
occurrence
unfolded.
It
has
become
a
regular
occurrence
for
people
in
the
VIP
sections
on
the
second
floor
to
throw
money
into
the
crowd
below,
usually
in
small
denominations.
I
found
it
amusing
and
even
tried
catching
some
myself.
However,
last
night
was
different.
Someone
from
the
second
floor
threw
1000s-peso
bill,
which
landed
in
our
area.
This
led
to
a
chaotic
situation
as
people
started
pushing
and
shoving,
resulting
in
several
unfortunate
consequences
for
us.
Firstly,
our
food
and
drinks
were
ruined,
scattering
all
over
the
floor.
One
of
the
waiters
promptly
tried
to
salvage
the
situation
by
saving
our
large
bottle
of
drink
and
one
of
our
dishes.
Secondly,
amidst
the
commotion,
my
friend's
girlfriend
was
searching
for
his
fallen
eyeglasses
when
she
was
accidentally
pushed
and
injured
her
chest
by
one
of
the
waiters,
who
was
also
trying
to
grab
the
money.
Furthermore,
my
girlfriend
was
knocked
down
and
had
a
chair
fall
on
her
leg
due
to
the
unruly
crowd.
This
resulted
in
bruises
and
swelling.
(Because
its
in
our
area,
she
did
join
in
catching
the
money
as
well,
but
because
of
the
crowd,
she
ended
up
in
the
floor
with
the
chair
fallen
on
her)
In
the
aftermath,
the
club
staff
did
attempt
to
clean
our
table,
offered
us
ice
pack,
band
aid
and
serve
a
replacement
for
the
wasted
calamari.
However,
I
firmly
insisted
that
we
did
not
want
the
calamari
and
that
they
should
not
charge
us
for
it,
given
the
circumstances.
Initially,
one
of
the
managers
claimed
they
couldn't
accommodate
the
request
since
we
had
ordered
it
earlier.
After
some
discussion,
they
finally
agreed
to
waive
the
charge
for
the
calamari,
understanding
the
seriousness
of
the
situation.
What
concerns
me
greatly
is
the
lack
of
crowd
control
exhibited
by
the
club's
management
during
this
incident.
They
knowingly
allow
patrons
to
throw
money
from
the
second
floor,
yet
fail
to
ensure
the
safety
and
well-being
of
their
customers.
While
I
understand
the
excitement
surrounding
catching
the
bills,
it
is
imperative
for
the
waitstaff
to
prioritize
the
protection
of
the
patrons.
After
all,
they
are
there
to
work,
not
to
engage
in
reckless
behavior.
I
hope
Icon
Club's
management
will
take
immediate
action.
Without
implementing
proper
crowd
management
and
safety
measures,
future
incidents
like
this
may
occur
with
even
more
severe
consequences.
