We visited this restaurant today for the first time and loved everything about it! The setting is in a lovely neighborhood. The staff is very friendly, the food was very delicious, the service fast. We also got some appetizers, dessert and tea on the house. We had a salad, grilled shrimps in garlic butter and grilled salmon. I recommend this place for anyone in Istanbul or just visiting.

I would give the service even more than 5 stars. The boss makes you feel like you are dining with family. The food is really tasty (at least the claypot chicken was, including the show preceding the plating) coffee is complementary and delicious. Highly recommended.

A gentlemen graciously greeted me, allowed me to find a table outside that suited me, and offered me a beverage. He made jokes about how he looks similar to a guy on the Turkish dollar bill, he pulls out the lira and sure enough he looks exactly like the guy. I finally decided on lobster and shrimp....the choices he helped me decide were large in size and absolutely delicious. To finish my meal he offered me Turkish tea & Baklava; my first time having both...AMMMMMAAAZZING!! Several gentlemen floated around the restaurant, not sure if they were management or staff, but they all were friendly, stroke up great conversations, and really added to the experience!!!

The food was great and tasty. We got fresh squeezed orange juice and homemade lemonade, both good! The saksuka and yoghurt starters were a nice match with beer. Strongly recommended. I would definitely go again. Next time, I’m gonna try the seafood there. It is only outdoor sitting, they have a huge fan for summer, so it is pleasant. The street was as well not crowded, and the view is nice.

This restaurant was around the corner from our hotel in the Sultan Ahmet district, and after reading reviews we decided to give it a shot! We both ate the whole grilled sea bream which was perfectly cooked with crispy skin, and with the garnish this dish went great with my glass of raki! For dessert we ordered a chocolate soufflé (which was in fact a lava cake) and it was delicious. I originally wanted to order rice pudding but our waiter convinced me to try the katmer- not as an upsell as the prices are similar but out of passion for the food. I was not disappointed! It turns out katmer is a little like crepes, soft with crispy edges and filled with pistachio. He even took my cutlery and showed me the proper way to eat it which is to roll a little ice cream into each piece. Needless to say the service was outstanding- charming and friendly, attentive but not overbearing, and we didn’t feel hard-sold into anything as is often the case in Istanbul. The staff clearly love the food and what they do, and they do it well. If you’re looking for a great, reasonably priced meal in the area away from the tourist traps then I cannot recommend this enough!

Side story: we wanted to hail a cab home, and the restaurant folks gave us a really good tip about where to catch one and how to avoid getting scammed. The staff was amazing, Memet waited on us and was exceptionally friendly and helpful and even taught us about some Turkish phrases. They had some pretty good services, but they were offering us the terrace upstairs. Then when I asked, we were told we can’t go upstairs. It was definitely fun eating here. They even offered us free tea and coffee. It was not expensive to eat here. The host/head waiter did recognize us but we didn’t want to keep eating at the same place.
