We came across this place completely accidentally. We where hungry, we opened up google maps and we found this place, and thank God for that. If it went for this place Istanbul would leave me believing there is no good food in it. Owner and waiter where super super friendly. Appetiser of olives from old Monastery was served on house and was delicious as hell. Meat in main course was cooked to perfection. I honestly dislike the grilling of vegetables and bulgur seasoning but I am on subjective side there, so don't mind me. Portions are great for Istanbul, food quality is also awesome and then you get the bill for 30 euros for 2 persons people tend to react as they are robbed. Truth is quality costs and if you expect to eat quality for cheap just because you came to Istanbul, you should not come at all.

I chanced upon this restaurant near my hotel and the owners were very friendly, invited me in for a drink on a very hot day. There was outdoor and indoor seatings but I sat indoor as I’m not fond of cats. There was this cat called Gabriel that sometimes wonder around the patio area. The owners were very kind to watch out the cats for me. They served a local sparkling wine which was refreshing and very tasty. I had light Greek salad dinner and the vegetables were so fresh and tasted really great. I went back another time the following day to try this Turkish claypot lamb dish, Divella Tabagi. I’d say that’s the best I’ve ever had! The meat is soooo tender it literally melts in the mouth. The spices and flavours blend so well it’s really THE perfect dish anyone and everyone should try. I had it with rice and crispy potato wedges and had two portions of the dish to myself. If I come back to Istanbul I’ll surely come back to this restaurant to eat it again!

The bread service is excellent as it comes with a purée of salted, pickled olives. Easy on that though as it can get you full real quick. I ordered the seafood platter after days of just eating the Turkish beef and lamb dishes. It was good! Not the freshest but that’s to be expected in this region. The service was also excellent and you can tell people were sincere with their hospitality. I only deducted 1 star because of the ambience — they were playing country music the whole time I was there, which really didn’t go with the vibe. All in all though, I would return again if I am in the area.

Amazing authentic Turkish food. Great atmosphere and staff go above and beyond for you. Just had the best Turkish experience at dinner tonight, and we've been to some so called high end ones during our stay. Be careful of those restaurants that put "bread" on the table, and like in the UK, you assume its complimentary, but then charged 100 TL afterwards, approx, £10 after the fact of serving it. Glad to say, this was not the case here. Good honest business, make you feel like Kings and Queens. I will definitely be back before we leave for a second round of hospitality! Wish there were more stars!

I had 3 courses in total out of which 2 just came from the house for free (a most delicious olive paste with fresh homemade bread, homemade Baklava and 2 teas). Poor, in a nutshell. We ate at Rooftop Mezze 360 the night before which was aboslutely fantastic. Excellent food, amazing views, great service and well priced. This was the opposite. Food wasn't great, service was slow (waited for ages), prices were too high and portions were not sufficient. I went here because it had 5 stars on google and well reviewed on TripAdvisor but I feel duped. Nothing special and definitly one to avoid.

One of the best restaurants we got to visit. It's family owned business, with 2 other branches in Istanbul. We were initially served with bread and a olives dip/mezze. Next we tried the stuffed mussels which were really good. We were advised the testi kababs that were a spectacle to watch. They are made in a clay pot. We requested chicken and beef together. And they tasted amazing!! Juicy and tender with sides of potatoe wedges. We got complimentary baklava and tea too! Def a must try! 5 stars for this one.

We will be coming back to Istanbul for one last day/night before flying home, and we’re already planning our next meal here!

But we paid 1518... Where did the two hundred liras go? It may be too petty of me to whine about just a two hundred liras vanishing into the thin air, but it feels like a scam. Whether the bread we didn't ask for wasn't free, or that person in the reviews was right about the service fee, I don't know. What I know is you should be careful and check your math.
