The location of this beautiful hotel was perfect. The staff were all nice, helpful and attentive. Latif was particularly very welcoming and would always go an extra mile to help out. I could not fault the bedroom and loved the traditional feel with the modern amenities. I recommend anyone planning to visit Istanbul to stay here or atleast come for food and a drink.

Beautiful and cozy room. However there was a bit of noise transfer/pollution from the street at night. Comfortable beds. Be sure to get breakfast included in your stay - it’s excellent!

This was the perfect place to kick off our Turkish adventure! We loved the unique feel to the hotel, it’s beautifully styled and the rooms are comfortable with amazing high ceilings and a historic feel. The staff at the front desk are truly incredible - we have never had such friendly, knowledgeable concierges who seem genuinely excited to share their own personal experiences around different parts of the country in order to make your own journey the best it can be. Also, we LOVED the breakfast, I’m not sure what other previous reviewers are complaining about it, it was one of our favourite parts! A huge tray of assorted salads, olives, eggs, cheese - true Turkish style and so yum. It’s true that the hotel is noisy - the bar downstairs plays loud music until late - but it didn’t really bother us, we enjoyed the atmosphere and liked the idea of staying somewhere that was such an attraction for locals, and it didn’t stop us sleeping.

The room is amazing, and the design of the building is stunning. But so hard to book a taxi to pick up because the hotel has no easy access for car Choice of breakfast is very limited and restaurant staffs are not well trained But there was a staff named Mohammed from the reception desk who always stand by for giving his hands. Thanks Mohammed!

A beautiful, newly opened hotel, in a brilliant location - walking distance to all the major highlights in Istanbul (the Spice Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, Topaki Palace and the Blue Mosque). And the staff are so helpful and friendly. Tasty breakfast, and lots of good restaurants nearby. The room was small, but well furnished, it's clear a lot of thought has gone into the design throughout the hotel, making the most of the historic structure. Will be our first choice any time we are visiting Istanbul.

The hotel is a beautiful example of Ottoman architecture, very well restored, and the rooms are very comfortable. The beautiful inner courtyard is restaurant, and in the evening a very popular and fashionable bar/restaurant which creates a very lively atmosphere. The location of the hotel is superb, close to all major attractions. Most importantly, the staff of the reception are amazingly helpful and extremely nice: Angel, Berke, Furkan, Emirhan, Ogulcan and Beyazit, thank you all for making it feel so good.

Very unique hotel however the cons outweigh the pros. Certainly the service from reception is excellent. They are attentive and will go out of their way to help you. The rooms are small but have a certain charm that you wouldn’t find in a large branded chain. Unfortunately that is where the pros end. The noise from the inside restaurant is unbearable and goes on until midnight. The loud music and guests shouting to be heard is totally unacceptable if you are trying to sleep before midnight. To make matters worse, they are allowed to smoke and since the rooms are located on the top floor, the smoke enters your room through various gaps and holes. The WiFi is naturally poor as the walls are very thick, and it is not reliable enough. The breakfast included in your room price is not well explained since many of the restaurant staff do not speak english. You will essentially be given a Turkish breakfast tray. Extras will be charged as per the al carte menu. Overall I do not recommend staying here.

The staff has been absolutely helpful, kind and willing to help us at any time. We can only recommend to all people considering staying here, that they will make the right decision, as the staff will make you feel at home. Special thanks to Mr Kerem and his team! Top Customer Service, 5 stars for them!!

It’s not a hotel with stars, currently it’s a construction site and they’re still selling it for 250eur/night! There is not even s floor, there is dust everywhere, see picts! How they can do this?! What kind if business ethic is this?! Shame on you really!!!

In planning stage of our turkey trip we must have scouted 100’a of hotels but nothing got our eyes like Han 1772. A 15 century property restored into a beautiful property in the heart of the old town with walking distance to blue mosque , spice bazaar etc . Since it’s a newly built / ongoing built property we loved the design of rooms , the staff was cordial and friendly . Though Istanbul is known for its hustle and bustle but this property is a perfect gem in the busy city .

Life is all about experiences. This hotel will provide you plenty. From wondering why the Internet sucks (it can't penetrate the massively thick walls) to trying to get any attention at breakfast (tip, hire a PI to track down the waiter). I spent many a fine morning trying to attract attention to get one more cup of coffee, best to bring a peacock costume. The good news is that they'll do laundry by weight, no having to fill out forms detailing your knickers, bad news they only accept cash (for the laundry). Note that the hotel is a WIP, so floors, stairs and other amenities may suddenly disappear. The staff do sturdily stand to attention when you walk in, so that makes it all worth it.

A historical hotel in a wonderful location, everything is close to you in a walk distance. I can’t say enough about the team and staff, you made our stay worthy with your reception team and hospitality. There are still some renovations in the bar & breakfast area but will finish soon. Wish all the best.

A great place to stay.. After a great restoration this is just like a heaven in the middle of the old city..

Beautiful central location and great friendly staff, but that's pretty much it. The hotel feels like an afterthought of the super hip restaurant located downstairs. You will hear noise from music and guests until late in the night. If the rooms had good noise insulation it wouldn't be an issue, but they aren't so bring your earplugs. Breakfast is nice and expansive, but it's the same thing ever morning. On the first morning we asked for orange juice and we got it free of charge. Next morning we were asking to pay for it. You cannot put it on the room tap of the hotel cause the hotel and restaurant are apparently seperated. If you are thinking of eating dinner, you will have a hard time making a reservation, even if you are an hotel guest. The location is nice if you want to stay in the most touristic part of Istanbul. We've visited other neighbours (BeĹźiktaĹź, Kadikoy) that we much preferred and wish we rather stayed at (nicer streets, food is much cheaper, more young-adult oriented) The rooms are nice, but have very dim lighting.

Amazingly beautiful interior. Nice ambiance but food is about nothing. Nice to come there but do not expect much from the chef

Hotel is an amazing conversion from a 250yrs old prison and the rooms and staff are 5 star , what let it down is the half finished electrics and breakfast

We were very excited about this hotel, but it’s very hard to recommend. The cons definitely outweigh the pros. It’s a beautiful, stylish and very interesting hotel architecturally. The staff, especially the guys at the front desk are really nice and helpful. The room was beautiful and clean, the bed was really comfortable. Also the location is perfect. And thats the end of the pros. Our biggest problem was that there is a busy bar in the middle of the courtyard where all the rooms face. They turn the music volume up every day at 6pm and it goes on until midnight. The insulation of the rooms are really poor, there are literally gaps around the door where the light shines through, so you can hear everything, the music and the yelling of people and you can also smell the cigarette smoke. The breakfast is underwhelming, it’s not what you can see in the pictures - that’s the breakfast that the bar/restaurant guests get. You only get tea, dips, bread, some vegetables, cheese and one egg. Everything else - coffee, juice, ham, fruits - is “extra”, which they charge you for separately. Also the wifi (and mobile data) is unusable inside the room. Overall if you don’t mind these it’s a cool place, but we’re really disappointed as you could get much better value for your money somewhere else.

Receptionists were friendly and helpful! The rooms are beautiful, breakfast has a lot of varieties. However, the only downside is rooms are super loud at night, if you love night life the hotel is definitely for you!

It's not a 5 star hotel. More like 3 star. Excellent service at frontdesk. Very poor breakfast.

This is the best hotel in Istanbul, an absolutely beautiful courtyard restaurant and our bedroom had the most gorgeous brick-vaulted ceiling. The breakfasts were delicious and the reception team, particularly Kerem and Mert, were extremely friendly and helpful, they went above and beyond. Thank you for making our stay so special.

I was around and wondered about this place; I am a local at Istanbul. It was quite difficult to find the place, as many of the tradesman around don't know it. Though I didn't see the rooms, what I have read from other reviews are probably true: it's located in a busy area and most rooms are facing the courtyard where there is a restaurant. However, as I said before, location is very good.

Rooms 1. Ceiling crumbling (be cautious) 2. Slight smell of cigarettes due to restaurant downstairs. 3. Music is genuinely NOT loud - no need to avoid hotel for this reason. Location 1. Good amenities 2. Taxi drivers can’t come outside the hotel, only allowed to enter the area 3 times per day. You will have to walk to main street to find a cab. Concierge 1. Doors close at midnight which is good for security and so hotel feels very safe 2.Concierge are very awkward Hotel Breakfast 1. Very basic, not the nicest, would suggest you eat elsewhere.
