Qeysarie Gate

Tourist attraction

👍👍 The entrance to Esfahan Bazaar itself. One of the most beautiful eastern/Arabic bazaars. A unique atmosphere, noise, traffic, oriental influences... etc. I like the fact that there are no pushy sellers here like in Egypt. I bought a camel bone box here for my wife as a gift. PS. I am attaching photo... People often mention gate, Isfahan, Bazaar, entrance, bazaar, Jahan, main, Qeysarie, destroyed,

The Qeysarie Gate is the beautiful entrance for the bazaar of the same name (also known as the Grand Bazaar or Bazar-e Bozorg) that connects the new Safavidic Isfahan with the old Seldjuk Isfahan. Because all buildings around Naqsh-e Jahan Square are built in the same style, it radiates a soothing unity. Moreover, the gate is not lavishly decorated, the most important decoration is a huge fresco that, despite the damage, still represents excess and richness, but also great craftsmanship.

The Qeysarie gate is a historical gate in the main entrance of the Bazaar of Isfahan and Qeysarie Bazaar in Isfahan, Iran. The gate had had originally 3 floors, but the third floor was destroyed later. The destroyed third floor had been a Naqqarekhane. The gate was built in the 17th century during the Safavid era. It’s a beautiful gate with beautiful architectural details and murals all over it.

Sardar Qaysarieh is a historical building related to the Safavid period, which is located at the main entrance of Isfahan Bazaar in Naqsh Jahan Square. This work was registered as one of Iran's national works on 15 January 1310 with registration number 103. Not so long ago it had three floors and now it has two floors. The third floor, which was destroyed, formed the bell tower, where they announced the time of the day with the sound of music. This door opens to Isfahan Grand Bazaar and in the past it was the main road of Isfahan Bazaar. Qaysarieh gate included four side doors, a main gate and a pond, which was turned into a garden around the 1340s, but now it has been restored. Paintings by Reza Abbasi can be seen on top of the gate. The bell of Deir Hormuz, as well as the clock in the Portuguese castle of Hormuz Island, (with a diameter of about 80 cm) were brought to Isfahan after the conquest of that island and installed on top of this headland. This building is the entrance to the old bazaar of Isfahan in the north of Naqsh Jahan Square, which was built during the Safavid era.

It has a lot to know a bout and you need a guide to explain for you the birth of new Isfahan from Qeysarie Gate. I recommend Isfahan Free Walking Tour by Persian Walk since they explain the history, facts and stories about Isfahan Including monuments and local snacks and a lot more.

It's the entrance to the old bazaar of Isfahan, located in Naghsh-e Jahan square. Totally a masterpiece, and sadly the painting under the roof has been destroyed by religious parties right after 1979 revolution.

I visited the balcony of gheysariye in its museum. Although the museum wasn't amazing from my point of view but It gave us the chance of having very nice look to whole naghshe jahan square.
