This restaurant is very highly rated, and from the standpoint of the rooftop view and the lovely staff, their 4.9 rating is well-deserved. Once you climb the narrow, twisty stairs to the roof, the 360 view is gorgeous. You can see the sea above the rooftops of Essaouira in every direction. And the staff are so pleasant; the whole charming place has a kind and gentle vibe that’s irresistible. The day we were there for lunch, the food was good. Not the best in Essaouira, but plenty good enough for us to plan a return. You’re really coming for the view and the staff, though. And have a little snack before you go, because our salads and tagines took a very, very long time to arrive. All in all, though we left immediately after eating, our lunch took three hours. The terrace is so lovely and relaxing that we enjoyed lingering on and on while we waited for food, but it’s not a good place to go for a quick bite.

Nice terrace with friendly staff and a naughty cat named Couscous! The juices and food were made with local fresh ingredients. Their menu focuses on Moroccan specialties. It seems I was unlucky with the fish Tajine as it did not contain very good cuts. Otherwise everything else was excellent!

I love this hostel- fun, hard working staff. Terrace with actual good food and view. The rooms are basic, clean and as described. Good vibes all around. 10/10 would stay again.

We had a great experience here! The staff were very kind and offered great service & later gave us great travel tips and recommendations! The meal was wonderful (fish and veggie tagine), and the tables were cozy and colorful while offering an awesome rooftop view! I had a wonderful time in the hungry nomad hostel. The staff were super nice and welcoming especially a girl named hind, she's such a sweetheart. I kinda felt sad when I was leaving it felt like I was leaving home because I met some beautiful souls while I was there.

Hidden gem in the medina, very friendly and welcoming staff and awesome view from the rooftop. Fresh fish and Moroccan cuisine - highly recommend

The Hungry Nomad Rooftop is a great place to enjoy a meal or drink with stunning views of the city. The rooftop terrace is spacious and has plenty of seating, so you can easily find a spot to relax and soak up the sun. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, and the service is friendly and attentive. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The food, drinks, and service were all excellent, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Essaouira.

Very disappointed with our meals in this restaurant. I had the chicken stuffed with spinach and cheese which was served with rice. The rice was good but the chicken was really poor. It was overcooked and the meat was dry. The spinach stuffing was lukewarm and had very little flavour. My husband had fish which was served with vegetables. It was okay but the portion was very small for the price. A couple sitting at another table were joined by a white cat who sat on the table mats on the table adjoining theirs, watching everything that went into their mouths. The staff made no attempt to move it away or clean the table it sat on afterwards. There were several staff in the kitchen, chatting away among themselves with their backs to the restaurant, completely ignoring their customers. We waited for at least 15 minutes after finishing our meal and in the end had to go over to the kitchen to ask for our bill. We felt the price was high for what we got. We have paid a lot less for much better food and service in Essaouira. The Hungry Nomad is lacking, both in terms of quality of food and quality of service. Major room for improvement.

This place is great! It has everything - good, food, good views, great service, and a handsome cat named Couscous! I had the sardine tagine and hummus salad and both were excellent. The prices were great also. It's a younger crowd since the restaurant is on the roof of a hostel, but everyone is welcome.

We recently visited Essaouira and went to Hungry Nomad twice. The staff are a delight and the dinner was impeccable. The views over the town are incomparable and if you’re lucky you get to see their house cat cous cous. Highly recommend anyone to visiting essaouira to stop at this place for a tea, juice or food!

Everything is beyond amazing in this restaurant. The vibe, the food, the view and the people who work there. They just launched there new menu which is absolutely amazing. The food is so flavorful. A big recommendation is the homemade icecream that they serve. Really the best experience to eat, especially with sunset. The staff also talks really good English which makes it even more easy.

Wonderful restaurant, they make delicious Moroccan Food, rooftop was amazing and paronamic, the view is magical especially during sunset, we had tagines, pastilla and salades all were very nice with good prices. Ppl are so kind and the ambiance of sahara live music was amazing and special. I highly recommend the place for people who are visiting Essaouira.
