Extremely friendly first-class service in a classical atmosphere with the Blues playing in the background. A family-owned place, the owner speaks Arabic, French, and English fluently and I think the menus are in English unless they have different sets of menus. They really go out of their way to serve and make you feel welcome. The food was okay, fairly priced, with lots of options on the menu.

Food was excellent, we started with “Fried goat cheese”, host suggestion even though we thought about it we almost missed it. It was “delicious”, girlfriend ordered one to go 😅 After starter we had fish and you could feel the “home made” taste of it. Felt like I was visiting uncle living in a city on a seaside and cooked for us. Can’t express gratitude to the host who was super friendly, humble and spoke just enough English. Place and toilets were super clean as well. You won’t regret choosing to eating here. 🤤

A real hidden gem. Came here from the raving reviews I saw on Google. Can't say they were wrong. Absolutely spot on. We came here for lunch. Nice and peaceful. The owner greeted us and sat us down and made us feel very welcomed. Very clean place, I must add in comparison to the other local restaurants and very fairly priced. He gave us the WiFi password aswel. He's such a lovely guy. And of course, the food was the best we have tried in Essaouira. I just wish we had found it earlier as the next morning we are flying back home. Thank you for the great service and food. Also it has a very traditional morrocan decor 😍

That was the best meal we had in Morocco! We went there because of super high rate (5/5) wandering if it's not fake. IT IS NOT INDEED! That's the taste of heaven. We had chef's soup of the day - lobster soup (never tasted anything like this), squid tajine & monkfish kebab, fresh fig's tart. Tried out almond & almond, dates, raisins drink. Everything was a pure perfection. Including warm welcome.

Another great restaurant tucked away in a small alley inside the Medina. Warm and attentive service, clean and comfortable space, wide selection of dishes offered at reasonable prices. I particularly enjoyed my order of Squid tagine; it was perfectly seasoned with a hint of spiciness that I welcomed. Also appreciated the complimentary olive tapenade with melba toasts. A unique take on the usual olives given in other restaurants.

Delightful restaurant with delicious food and kind, attentive staff. We tried multiple dishes - I am vegetarian and particularly enjoyed the crispy goats cheese starter, but my partner was so impressed by the fish dishes. You could go here with friends and family, but I especially recommend it for a romantic dinner in the evening - it’s candlelit, quaint and peaceful. Thank you to the lovely staff for excellent service.

Friends and I had our last evening meal here based on reviews and the recommendation of the Riad owner. It’s a friendly and cozy restaurant. The grilled shrimp I had was amazing. Everyone loved their meals and we shared the fig tart and apple crumble (like mom’s). It was a nice relaxed meal for a good price.

We were looking for a quick meal after a long day on the road at the end of a two and a half week tour and our group of 8 was not disappointed. The specials of the day included lobster soup, seared tuna, crispy goat’s cheese, seafood pastila, fresh fig tart and apple crumble, all fresh, homemade and beautifully prepared. Some of us thought it was the best food we’d had on the trip so far! The prices were more than reasonable and the owner was both humble and proud of his food and restaurant. The food arrived in a timely manner even though by the time we left the small establishment was filling up. Highly recommend this place.

Great food in a homely atmosphere. Service was excellent as the owner was very hospitable. The food was excellent and there are a variety of daily specials, our group, predominantly being British, especially enjoyed the Apple Crumble for dessert!

My husband and I came for a day trip in Essaouira and were so delighted to have eaten at Sayef, following a recommendation from a family member. The food was scrumptious, especially the lobster soup and the service was brilliant. We’d happily come back just for the beautifully fresh and flavoursome seafood, and of course the lobster soup!

we ended up here by accident and it was a good coincidence, 3pm so lunch time, only 4 people were inside, we ordered the soup of the day and it was lobster soup, very good, cost is 70MAD which is about 7 euros, then couscous with chicken, mutton and sausages, with vegetables, etc... 110, tart with fresh figs for dessert, we highly recommend....

This restaurant is fantastic a real hidden gem in the heart of the Medina in Essaouira. Great food with a varied menu with lots of daily specials. The service is great and its very reasonably priced. I walked up without a reservation and got a table for 2 and had a great meal. The starter of mozzarella and tomatoe salad was delicious very light and healthy. I had bolognase which was very good. Came with some real cheese to top it. My girlfriend had a tuna steak and this was absolutely delicious. Good value great service and the apple crumbed desert with valinna ice cream was excellent

The goat cheese, fish and lobster were very tasty. We also had the avocado and date drinks which were great as well. I cannot recommend this place enough, a definite must try.

Great traditional restaurant in a quiet alley of the medina. Been twice, calmer for lunch than dinner, still always pleasant and with great food. Tried the seafood couscous and a beef tagine, both great and tasty. Recommend it for sure in Essaouira.

The food at this restaurant is epic. Everything we had tasted just perfect, we were actualy sad when we finished eating. If you visit Essaouira you need to eat at this restaurant!

Lovely small restaurant with delicious food, English-language translation menu, attentive service, and spotless restrooms. I had tuna steak with soy-honey sauce, and my husband had fish tagine. After lunch, as we strolled away through the medina, my typically dispassionate husband remarked, “I love that place!” 5 stars!

A hidden gem. We've already visited twice in a week, and I've no doubt we will return. We tried the crispy goats cheese, salad with argan oil, beef tagine, cous cous with kofte and the chicken pastilla and can recommend it all. Sayef himself is the most charming host, it is obvious that he cares deeply about his guests and the service is outstanding. Definitely worth going out of your way to find this place.

A quaint and wholesome restaurant. Possibly the friendliest service we’ve received in Morocco. The tuna steak was great! Thank you for a lovely evening. Paul and Louise, U.K.

👍👍 This is a legendary spot and definitely a highlight of my Essaouira experience! The La Couple Signature Drink (picture 1) is really good. Really glad that I ordered the Poulpe Rôti roasted octopus dish (Picture 2) that was so incredible. Besides, the vibes here are excellent. Ideally you’d want to...

👍👍 One of the best places to go to for a chilled afternoon/sunset time! You’re on the beach, enjoying the sunset while listening to music, prices are fair, yes service is not the fastest but you can go to the bar and ask, that didn’t bother us too much. What you see is what you get :)
