The best focaccia in Melbourne, hands down. I recommend the gourmet ones, especially Mortadella&Pistachio... or Octopus... or Salsiccia&friarielli... oh my God! To many good ones!!! They are all amazing. Also Jessica's desserts are to die for 🤤 I love the cosy atmosphere, and the super friendly owners will make you want to come back asap!

Best Italian focaccia bread and sandwiches! The owner is super friendly – bought the business a few months ago, it was a Colombian cafe. Doing an incredible job and so passionate about his baking – five different types of flour! Delicious fillings, including buratta and meats.

I would like to provide an honest review here. I must say I was quite disappointed with this cafe despite its highly rated reviews. I was eager to experience good food in Melbourne, and unfortunately, this was the first place I chose after arriving at a nearby hotel. The bread served was cold, and the coffee was mediocre at best. Although the owner seemed friendly, I believe they should seriously consider revamping their menu. The bread consisted of only cheese, which was both oily and left me feeling unwell afterward. This experience even made me question relying on Google reviews to find a good cafe. I struggle to find the right words to express my disappointment.

My Italian friend brought Me there saying they do authentic focaccia. The place was cozy and the owner was really kind and friendly. When I asked him to add some pesto to my focaccia sandwich, He was happy to do that for me. Also frequently came up to the customers to check everything’s alright They have a variety of focaccia and you can choose whatever you want. I normally don’t prefer whole meal bread and tuna but when I had a bite of my friend’s, it was very great! Even better than regular one. They do good coffee and croissant as well. So gotta try them. It’s located conveniently. Everything on menu is good to take away. Proved by Italian. Worth it to visit!

Cannot speak highly enough for No22 Cafe, the amazing food and the beautiful staff Tano, Jess and Angie. It has been a pleasure getting to know Tano and Jess in the months that their cafe has been open and love going in there to chat with them, try their new creations, listen to their stories about the food from their home towns and enjoy their company. They are so passionate about their food, drinks and their customers which makes coming in an absolute pleasure. Pictured is the outstanding octopus and burrata focaccia made with cereal flour which is my favourite! My favourite lunch spot in the city :)

It's a 10/10! When I entered the cafe, I was immediately welcomed by the super friendly store owner. You could immediately tell how much effort he put in! I had a coffee and a focaccia. It does not get more authentic than that since the owner himself is Italian. The coffee was great and the food was bombastic. The atmosphere was very calm and serene. The owner told me a bit about the history of the café. Anyone who wants to try Italian desserts and savory dishes should come here! I definitely will!

I had the most amazing experience here. The most authentic Italian…there are 100 places around but this has reached another level. The owner is from Puglia and his Partner (chef) is Brazilian, the best combo family owned business.!!! I pre ordered an octopus focaccia doubting about the result as i saw a video on tiktok and the bread didnt look attractive. Went there with my wife and et voila!!!! 5 different types of Focaccia Pugliese (Type 1 flour-Semola-Cereals-00 flour and Wholemeal) i was like wooow.!!!! All of those made there.!!! You can smell the baking bread and the owner showed us the dough still in a tray ready to be baked. My wife got the Autentica with burrata and mortadella and i got the octopus one!!!! Folks if you read this just don’t hesitate.!!! Close your phone and go.!!! Thanks Tano and thanks Jess, you made our day and we know have our new fav italian cafeee!!! 😋😋 If you like Italian “street food” or authentic experience definitely this is the place where you must go. They have vegan, vegetarian and meat lovers options. Their menu it’s absolutely a walk on a red carpet where it will be very difficult to make the choice for your lunch. I will definitely recommend to try all the menu. About 15 different types of stuffed focaccia. Before going there make sure you don’t eat the day before cause you will need a large stomach to fit everything. I travelled a lot and there are not enough words that can describe how authentic is this place. I have been to puglia once only and for me was a throw back to that time in Polignano a mare/Monopoli (Close to Bari) Guys what can I say, y made my day and I look forward to come back to Melbourne and have your fantastic meal. I wish you all the best success in life and I hope to see one of your shop here too.

We had a wonderful time at no22. The service was incredible and the owner was very friendly, sharing his stories and recommendations. The focaccia sandwiches were very yummy and the burrata was delicious. Lots of types of flour as well which was very fun and interesting. 10/10 would come to melbourne again just for this 🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺

Great little authentic Italian joint. The coffee was great, the staff were friendly, the food was delicious. I had the Authentica and was pleasantly surprised with how good it tasted. Highly recommend!

In a sea of cafes in downtown Melbourne, No22 Cafe stands out with their authentic Italian sandwiches made with the most delicious focaccia bread you’ll ever have. Fresh and simple ingredients, decent cup of coffe and a great selection of pastries — what more could you ask for!?!?

  • 5/5 Barry 5 months ago on Google
Dined here early morning and had the recommended 'Authentica' focaccia sandwich which is their most popular sandwich on the menu. The sandwich was quite big and definitely needed the fork and knife. Focaccia was house made, freshly baked, soft with a bit of crisp on the edges, nicely seasoned herb topping with some olives and cherry tomato. Inside was a generous amount of mortadella, savoury and not too salty. Cheese was upgraded from stracciatella to burrata for the additional buffalo cheese to add some texture; it was satisfying to cut open and spread the creamy stracciatella which balances the saltiness of the mortadella; very tasty. There was also some pistachio, earthy and a little salty. Flat white was strong with a nice coffee roast flavour.

Absolutely delicious food and a genius idea! Five different types of flour to make different types of bread, and the best bread is chosen to match the sandwich ingredients you choose. My friend and I went in for brunch and had delicious coffee and sandwiches. The husband and wife team are so friendly and take the time to explain all the options to you. Excellent location with a view of the river and such a cosy atmosphere. We actually went back for coffee the next day!

Perfection Had ours as a take away and it traveled well back to our apartment. Staff were super friendly and helpful I didn’t know what to order and said “give me your most popular” and this is what we had. Worth every cent and more.

Trying to think of a review that will do this sandwich justice. You will go through a roller coaster of emotions as you experience something so delicious and such good quality and become so very happy, but then It quickly disappears in your mouth and you are sad it is over. Excited to come back again! Thanks as well for the exceptional service!! They go above and beyond here.

Found No22 Cafe on Google looking for a bite to eat in the city. With 5 stars and 200+ reviews, it seemed almost too good to be true but we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to stop by. We were warmly welcomed by the owners, passionate and enthusiastic. It’s clear that there is a lot of love and care that has gone into this business. The coffee was impeccable, some of the best we’ve had in Melbourne (my boyfriend said it was the best he’d had in his life!). We ordered La Campana focaccia and the Autentica, both of which were unbelievably good. The bread was so soft and the tomatoes were an extremely welcome addition. The stracciatella was to die for. Very evidently made with love! Only downside was that we couldn’t possibly eat everything off the menu in one sitting, so we’re going to have to come back many more times!! A true taste of Puglia in the CBD and a really impressive small business that has achieved so much in such a short time. Can’t wait to come back! Grazie mille 🤩

This place was a little surprise and it became my new favorite cafe! Fresh a small delicious products, excellent and friendly service. No wonder they are 5 starts for all reviews. For the quality of the products they offer ( mortadela, cheese and the focaccia bread) it’s a super fair price compare to most places. Super fresh and high quality. 👌🏼❤️ 10/10

Passionate staff for focaccias from the Puglia region of Italy. The staff are extremely friendly and are clearly passionate about sharing their love for the focaccias from Puglia. It’s a family run cafe and the autentica is their signature focaccia. Expect to spend ~$20 for a meal here.

This place is amazing and the owner is absolutely fantastic! They all make you feel at home, have fantastic fresh focaccia’s and even have the option for the chef to pick (and she has amazing taste so I recommend!) I cannot rate this place highly enough - if there were 10 stars they would have them!

Great place to drop by and have a coffee. Service was excellent and the food was incredible. Will definitely be visiting on a regular basis

  • 5/5 JONATHAN P. 1 year ago on Google
The reviews were good and it didn’t disappoint! Clearly it is all about the focaccia which was divine. But the scrambled egg was as good as we have had in 10 weeks in Australia. And the oat flat white was simply wonderful. It felt like the focaccia with pesto burrata needed one more crisp contrast in texture flavor - maybe lettuce or tomato. But that’s being v picky.

Authentic focaccia pugliese! Fresh and tasty base ingredients with a lot of attentions to details in the preparation. We got the summer special and it was phenomenal (make sure to ask first! You need to preorder it one day in advance). The staff is particularly eager to assist and very friendly, my girlfriend and I had a lot of fun chit chatting with Gaetano. Would definitely recommend to get a delicious taste of Italy! Get a good espresso there while you're at it.
