My boyfriend used to be a big loyal fan of Little Ramen Bar since they were at their old location, but this is our first time trying out this location after they've moved. It was delicious, but not as good as remembered. Don't get us wrong, it's not bad--it's still delicious, but just not like how it was back then. Love that the shop is much bigger now, and there are both counter and table options to be seated in.

it’s neat and tidy inside, a little bit warm though. food was served pretty quick, gyoza came out last. taste okay. i had the classic ramen which taste okay. pork was a little bit… sour though. i didn’t finished the pork but i did finish the ramen & the soup.

This place is not the Little Ramen Bar I used to visit on Lt Bourke St. It has probably changed ownership to Korean; I guess the owner is not Japanese anymore. The ramen tastes soooo different; this is not authentic japanese ramen at all. I ordered Spicy Miso Ramen, and it came with a slice of chashu and a lot of pork mince (what the heck is this combo?). It also contains a lot of onions, carrots, and cabbage! That's so wrong. The soup tastes like cabbage soup—absolutely horrible. The worst ramen I've ever had. It's not ramen; it's worse than Chinese noodle soup. I hope the owner knows what they are selling. Super disappointed. It cost me $21. Never coming back.

This restaurant used to be in Lt Bourke street, often with queues due to the small venue. This new place is a lot bigger but is missing the crowd. The menu has also grown which includes vegan and Abu Ramen (spicy dry). The Abu Ramen provides a nice change when you don't feel like drinking hot broth. The vegetarian Ramen also still packs a good punch for the broth. It is still one of the best places to get your authentic Japanese ramen fix, too bad it is on the quiet side of CBD. Food - 8 Service - 10 Vibe - 7 Price - $$

If you expected to try real Ramen. This place is not for you. The broth is far from what we call "Ramen". The broth is like milk mix with water, taste bland, no fat came from the real bone marrow at all. My one (classic tonkatsu ramen with garlic) was so bland but my friend one was too salty (Miso ramen). It came quick after you ordered 5 mins but guess what "it wasn't hot at all" I feel like you just pre-cook the noodle and pour some warm broth on top. The only good thing today was pork gyoza. Not gonna return anytime soon.

Nice location. Fairly new. Clean inside. Service was good. Had the classic and spicy ramen but was not the best. It came out quite quick after ordering which is nice but ramen wasn’t warm enough, and the spicy ramen wasn’t spicy at all. Ended up getting three different spices after requesting to making it spicy. Was a bit funny but I bet he brought it with good intention. Ramen noodle was just average, ended up having only soup and sides. Oh gyoza was okish. Liked only the bamboo shoots.

Little Ramen Bar offers, as its name suggests, a variety of beverage options as well as different styles of Ramen and other Japanese style nibbles. After relocation to Lt Collins St, it became more spacious, yet the friendly and fast service has not changed. Highly recommended for a quick bite/drink.

A shop with a happy atmosphere and office workers, the food is delicious but maybe a bit salty for me, great Sapporo beer! Tried the char siu rice and the basic miso ramen,All good.

Went there for lunch on a weekday. Seated quickly and no waiting required. Happy and proactive staff. Ordered the basic Tonkatsu ramen with +$1 for garlic and mean Gyoza. Ramen has no surprise. Broth not hot enough which is disappointing. Noodle is so-so. Portion can be larger but it's alright. Bamboo shoot, black fungus, spring onion and two slices of pork, got everything there but not attractive. Spring onion is raw and chopped in big chunck so it's difficult to eat. Chunky garlic left at the bottom of the bowl which is not enjoyable. Goyza is served pan side up happily. Crispy enough but VERY, VERY salty inside. 2 out of 5, one star goes to the warm service staff.

Ordered tonkotsu ramen with shio garlic base, no spice and added tamago and chashu. Broth is bland and watered down tasting. Not nearly enough fat/oil. Tamago was overcooked and not seasoned or marinated. Chashu was nice and tender. Noodles can be ordered to your preferred hardness. They're medium thickness and slightly curly. Overall it was a very meh bowl of ramen with no flavour. Wouldn't recommend.

Nice little ramen shop close to our place. The ramen soup was good but I wish it was more thick but probably it was just the menu that I ordered. The tan-tan ramen was delicious with smoky flavour soup. I just wished they had put more meat in the ramen so I could still taste some meat after one bite!

This is one of my favourite Ramen places in Melbourne. It's great to sit at the bar and order a meal when wandering around downtown by yourself or with a friend. Big bowls and absolutely delicious. They also have a great 2-4+$10 beer deal during the day.

Great food. Great service by the waitress and the manager. I even came back and tried other items. My favs were the dry ramen and the shoyu ramen

Absolutely wonderful place. The vibes were chill and comfy, the staff were lovely and the ramen was amazing. They have both order from table QR and table service. Super customisable ramen, from adding eggs, removing cabbage and custom spice levels. They also have a wide range of Japanese alcohol that pairs well with the ramen, as well as classic japanese soft drinks. Wonderful place, highly recommend going to check it out.

Tried this place for the first time and was expecting a lot from the good reviews. But it wasn't that great. I had the spicy miso with the Hokkaido toppings and it was nothing like the ones I had in Sapporo, for some reason they added cabbage, onions and mince to it. The broth was kinda bland and just spicy which was disappointing and there was only one slice of chashuu which was quite fatty and thin too. And there wasn't much noodles either. Don't think I'll come back unless it's to try the tonkotsu ramen to see if they do that better.

The Little Ramen Bar used to be one of my favourites back when it was situated on Little Bourke St. It was the first time I've dined there since it re-located to the Little Collins St location. And whilst the Classic Tonkotsu Ramen with the Professional Toppings (extra egg, chashu pork, corn & butter) is good, it unfortunately doesn't stand out from the other ramen spots popping up around CBD. However, the venue is much more spacious than its former location, and the staff are consistently friendly.

It was good I went twice the first time was good it was in the evening the place wasn't super full and we had good service. Today though the servers felt like they were trying to rush me and my friends out when we came in for lunch. They had just delivered my friends Sapporo for their deal 2 for $10 and we still had our ramen bowls more than halfway full and they kept asking us if we were ready to go and needed takeaways. I understand that there was a lunch rush but we saw a group that came in before us who had their table completely cleared and were just chatting and they never asked them. Not sure if it was because of some other reason but definitely felt strange and we noticed that.

Ok for a quick lunch ramen. Tasty and fast. The Tonkotsu broth was good as were the eggs. The restaurant did have quite a strong smell of old beer and cigarettes which wasn't fantastic.

Lovely little place tucked away on Little Collins Street. The food was fantastic and the service prompt and friendly. I had the Classic Tonkotsu Ramen and it was superb!

  • 5/5 TheOfficial B. 1 year ago on Google
Super tasty ramen. Nice and spacious with counter or tables. Good choice of different ramens without too many. I had the tan tan ramen (pictured)with pork mince and such an awesome choice of extra toppings. The pork was flavoursome and melt in your mouth. The broth was earthy delicious and creamy. The noodles were cooked to perfection. Ramen is my go to make me feel awesome meal and im super fussy😋 this was seriously delicious and the guy who served us was friendly could enjoy a joke and so helpful when we couldn’t decide on Godzilla bowls. Godzilla bowls are perfect for hugging while eating tasty ramen so impressive with such a perfect ratio of noodles broth and toppings. A great choice of extra toppings can be chosen as well. Also my tan tan ramen had choice of spicy choices this was great as i love spicy but felt like something a little milder this time. Mild was still just spicy enough that it cut through the broth without overheating my mouth. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would probs choose the next level up from mild when i want spicier. The dumplings were perfectly cooked and with lovely pastry, vegetarian very tasty. Not bland at all and the Edamame was not overcooked and served with simple salt was a good contrast to my tan tan. Recommend this place! Staff friendly and welcoming. Soooooo good. Wholesome natural food ill be back for sure on my fave places to go now!

Super tasty food and great portions for the price. Everyone was friendly and the restaurant itself was comforting. If I lived in Melbourne I'd come back all the time! :)

Ramen was good but it’s not the thick tonkotsu soup. Ambience was really good for weekday lunch and the place was completely packed. Good variety of ramen options. I ordered the garlic shio ramen which was tasty but meant my breath smelt very garlicky afterwards. So make sure you bring mint.

I was actually quite disappointed with my spicy miso ramen. I should’ve looked at the reviews to see the small quantity and thinness of chashu they add. The carrot, cabbage and onions were largely chopped making it difficult to eat properly. It also felt out of place as filler for the lack of actual ingredients. They were crunchy which did not help with the strangeness of the vegetables being present in the ramen. The broth itself was okay but was definitely too salty. The noodles were again okay. Overall for the small portion and the price point I don’t think it deserves more than 2/5 , would not come again. I wonder if maybe the tonkatsu would have been a better choice. Also the okonomiyaki was thick and small. I normally don’t leave reviews but I was so unimpressed and would like to inform others.

Pretty decent vegetarian ramen! I’ve visited their old location a couple of times and could have sworn they used to put two half eggs in the vegetarian ramen as standard, but seems like they only give one half egg now.

They have vegan ramen!! Aside from tasting great, it has lots of pluses: you can have it spicy (I had mine HOT, and it IS hot - hotter than the usual Japanese spicy level), it doesn’t have fake meat like other vegan ramen places, and service is easy and friendly. Will definitely go back!

Stumbled upon this spot while going on a walk around of Melbourne CBD on a cold afternoon. Needless to say, this place hit the spot - food, service, atmosphere all splendid. Will definitely be back, this place is amazing to satiate even the biggest of appetites. And an even bigger bonus - they accept Liven payment, which I believe is a massive plus! Keep up the great work LRB staff!

I haven't had ramen out in a long while. So in my opinion Little Ramen Bar is pretty tasty. Its a pretty spacious ramen place, has lovely atmosphere. I do like that you can order via phone, makes a little easier especially when you have a hard time picking what you want to eat. I chose a vegetarian style shoyu ramen with extra eggs, hard style noodles. I had moderate spicy but to be honest didn't feel spicy but that okay! The bowls a pretty sizable like most ramen places. The ramen selection is fairly small but very customisable to a degree. The food came out quick and the employees were very lovely and attentive. The price for the ramen is pretty fair. Overall i enjoyed this place!

The food and service was excellent. We did not realise that our food order was not processed until we were informed, as they had forgotten to tell the kitchen. We were informed our entire meal would be free. However we insisted on paying and was only charged half price. We would definitely recommend this place and revisit it again.

Ramen was good. Not the best but also not the worst. I thought the price was fair for the good sized portion. It got busy after I arrived for dinner, so it definitely appears to be a popular spot

  • 4/5 Kiki 3 years ago on Google
Was disappointed that the vegan ramen is not ‘ramen’ but rice vermicelli... they should state this in their menu/ inform customers when taking orderings. Other vegan ramen places do have vegan ‘ramen’ instead of replacing it with a random noodle and call it vegan ramen... Toppings and taste were average but giving it a 4 stars for the fair price and portion. Will not recommend their vegan ramen.

Very quick, I was only in there for about 10 minutes and my food was ready in less than5 minutes. I would definitely recommend and get there fast as it’s a small place and may fill up quickly

Little Ramen Bar Little Collins St is new. They relocate from Little Bourke St store. It's alot bigger and has a bar top area. The entire menu is the same as before. You place the order by scanning the QR code on the table. Ramen is average. But location is very convenient for city worker. Recommended for a quick lunch with colleagues or by yourself.

Good ramen, but I don’t think is the best. We had the spicy miso ramen. The best is the 2x$10 Sapporo tap beers. Everything is super clean and fast service.

Fantastic spot! A group of us were searching for something to eat on Boxing Day when nothing was open and found this joint. Food was unbelievable and staff were so nice - there was a mix up in payments and they dealt with it so well. Will be going back next time I’m in Melbourne!

Went here a few times with my friends for our post-badminton lunch on Saturdays. They serve good ramens and beers. I always get the shio tonkotsu ramen. So I cannot really comment on the other menu items. Reasonable prices in my opinion. If you like to eat more, try the Gojira size!

Ordered tonkotsu ramen with level 2 spice for $13.90. The good: the new premises is much larger, cleaner and more welcoming. The Sapporo on draft is a nice touch. The bad: the ramen broth lacked body and tasted like it was made from paste. It was also much oilier than ramen should be (see photo). The noodles lacked firmness even though I ordered very hard. Oh and the takowasa was the worst I've ever tasted. I'm a big fan of takowasa and have tried it at probably twenty places in both Japan and Australia. Musashi and Gensuke have much better ramens.

  • 5/5 Ojas B. 1 year ago on Google
The place is simple and nice. There's a lot of vegetarian options, vegan option there too. The starters, many of them can be made vegetarian if one wants. Even though what I had ordered would've just given me less toppings and more soup, the staff nicely came to inform me. Helped me change my order to something that would allow me to get the full value of my mean. Staff are so polite, helpful, courteous and professional. Service is super fast. Food was quite tasty. The extra hot option is really hot. So be careful even those who are used to it. I love the fact that you can customise a fair bit too. Loved this place.

Got the signature pork broth which was full of flavour and plenty of toppings, the soup was heart warming and the pork was tender. The gyoza were really juicy and also packed flavour. There is a nice vibe inside the restaurant and amazing customer service.

  • 4/5 Emily K. 1 year ago on Google
Generous serving sizes and prompt service. Great spot to grab a quick lunch. Ordering via abacus QR code was a breeze. The ramen can be customised for toppings but not the soup base or cooking time of noodles. Overall a good experience.

Another week down another Ramen bar ☺️ This place has been an absolute standout from the rest, the Ramen was so tasty! We ordered 3 seperate varieties all had their own unique flavour. I ordered the house Ramen and because I was feeling a little on the hungry side I opted for the 'godzilla' size. I basically got 2 servings of broth and noodles with it for an extra $6. We washed down the tasty broth with some Sapporo beers and had some pork and chicken gyoza's which are a staple when we order Ramen. Service was excellent and the venue was super clean. If you're around Little Bourke Street and are looking for a nice quick meal I highly recommend dropping into this place!

We went there for lunch in a weekday and there were lots of options with their ramen. The classic ramen was okay and soup was delicious but the pork was lacking quite a bit. Portions are quite small there were not a lots of toppings and majority are just bamboo shoots. The staff that waited us was very nice and helpful with lots of patient for different requests.

  • 3/5 Gracia W. 1 year ago on Google
I ordered the tonkotsu ramen with garlic shio base.. ramen came real quick, just 2-3 minutes after I ordered, wow.. speedy service! Great when you’re hungry or in a rush haha.. although the taste is not quite my liking.. doesn’t feel too authentic taste.. the broth is on the lighter IMO, while I like thicker broth. The garlic shio also not as strong. So maybe if you fancy the lighter broth, you’ll be fine with it. The place is pretty spacious and clean tho, quite a lot of seatings available compared to other ramen places in Melbourne that’s usually quite small and intimate. They also provide seatings on bar which is more bright and nice for ppl who come here solo. Servers also friendly.
