Just came home from there. Sat at the bar with my wife and ordered food. The owner was sitting behind us in a booth with 2 women being way too loud and obnoxious. I asked for the check and a box for our meals. When we left I told the owner Paul they were out of line with the noise. Anyway he started screaming at me. He appeared extremely intoxicated and told me to never come back. This guy has some serious issues. I will not be back

!!HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH DEBBIE THE MANAGER!! As devout weekly locals coming here 35 yrs, Debbie’s behavior has been increasingly downright nasty towards both staff and patrons, and last night’s straw broke the camels back. Out of courtesy to my hard-of-hearing guest’s request, I asked Debbie “do you know if your salmon is farm or wild.” That’s it, all I asked, gently. Debbie postured bulging eyeballs up in my face, raised her voice in front of the whole restaurant and shot at me “ITS FRESH!! IT SAYS IT RIGHT ON THE MENU!!!” dramatically throwing her arms up rolling her eyes shaking her head is disgust, turning and walking away. She then went on barking orders at others, physically grabbed and pushed forward dear Mary saying “GET MOVING!”. Then UNPROMPTED, Debbie proceeded to come back to our table 4-5 times, combative, instigating trouble pushing herself into my face “ITS FRESH!!” “I TOLD YOU ITS FRESHHHH FRESHHHHHHH!” “YOU OBVIOUSLY CANT READ ITS FRESHHHH!!” I replied “no I simply asked if it was farm or wild. That’s all I asked. A question. No problem.” But she wouldn’t quit. Debbie was like a rabid dog, coming back at me (4 of us) making a huge scene, then screamed “IM THE MANAGER!!!! AND YOURE THIS CLOSE 🤏TO BEING PUT ON THE LIST NEVER TO COME HERE!! (Then points to all of us) “NO MORE SERVICE TO THIS TABLE!!!” The horrified couple sitting next to us stated “OMG!!! she’s getting worse each time we come”. To dear owners Paul and Kristen, and adored staff Mary, Caitlin, Janice, and other bartender Nancy?, we’ll be back to hand our Christmas gift$$ to you. But for as long as Debbie is still employed at our dear Weathervane, we are all boycotting. No surprise there’s been a loss of business there too. We all have bad days, and I never ever write reviews, but Debbie is an abusive bad apple, and she’s single-handedly ruining our beloved tavern right under entrusted P and K’s noses. There’s no return from this incident (as it’s been ongoing). Until she’s gone, we and others boycott.

The owner Paul has been telling multiple people he was navy seal . This is a slap to the face of all who served. This is why I don’t eat there anymore. He’s narcissist to the core always bragging about something. Food is decent, but not worth it regarding the owner has no integrity

Before covid everyone I knew used to love this restaurant. Unfortunately their quality has gone down and is no longer as special as it used to be. When getting takeout they almost always forget parts of your order so make sure you double check your bags before leaving. Also the quantities are WAY less than it used to be. The amount of fries is laughable. I want to love this restaurant again but it’s hard to. There’s just so many better options.

Wow! We had high expectations after hearing about this place from a friend and having already eaten here for brunch, but the dinner…damn. Perfect in every single way and the best dinner we’ve had in the North Shore by a mile. The menu at first glance seems basic, but don’t let that fool you. Mushroom risotto, best I’ve ever had. Pan friend halibut, flaky fish perfection. Desert is not to be skipped either. Anyways, just go here.

A locals paradise! The food is excellent but the best part is the wait staff! They are always so friendly and make you feel like you've known them forever. Very much enjoy coming here! Surprising how many people can fit in this tiny dining room! My boyfriend says they have the best steak tips around!

Stopped in as we were driving around the area. We were from out of town and looking for something simple and hearty, and this was highly rated on Google. So glad we did!! It’s a very cozy place, packed even on a Thursday night, and clearly loved by locals. The soups were amazing (best clam chowder my mother has had) and the entrees were both large and well priced. The waitress, Mary, was lively and kind and the whole restaurant felt very welcoming. Glad to see a family owned restaurant doing so well in this age of chains. Some specials were sold out however, so get there early if you can!

Hate giving good reviews to a place that is always busy but they deserve it. Mary is a rockstar waitress too!

Cozy with consistently good food. Tap beer is always fresh and cold, mixed drinks are leaned into and strong. Owner is most always around to say hello and share some conversation - has a nice, local feel and worth a visit...

Heard so much about this "locals" place. Food was good but a medium rare burger came out medium well. It was greeted with an "oh well, that the kitchen". My special of fish and chips was excellent. Atmosphere is cozy. Wait staff are old pros and 'konw' their regulars.

Another amazing dinner at The Weathervane! They do not take reservations. Have to wait in line most evenings! Fave local spot! Always busy! Our waitress, Laurel, was so kind and efficient!my jumbo shrimp and scallops were delicious! My uncle had his favorite, lobster and scallop casserole! Always fabulous! Super nice dinner!

Outstanding service, delicious, consistent food with generous portions. Nothing not to love about the place and one of the best kept secrets.

It's a small place, and they sit people somewhat close, but the service is great, the drinks are strong, and the food is generous, delicious, and affordable. You won't leave there hungry!

Stopped here while traveling through Massachusetts. I recommend the Lobster and Scallop casserole. Service was excellent, courteous, and prompt. I’d give this restaurant 6-stars if I could!

The Weathervane is my "go to" for lunch. It's a cozy atmosphere, with wonderful patrons. The food is wholesome, and at a very reasonable price point. Mary and Donna are always attentive, providing service above and beyond. Thank you

Tried to go here today with our family of 10 adults all meeting from different states. My husband and I arrived and hour early to see if they could seat us all in an hour. The server said no way even though all the tables were empty. I had tried calling several times the day before but no one answered and the mailbox was full. The hostess wasn’t at all helpful. Ended up going across the street where they were super helpful and excited to serve us. Our bill came to over $500 it’s a shame they didn’t want our business.
