Not eaten here for near on 15 years, now kicking myself. From the moment you walk, the staff are smiling, attentive while maintaining total professionalism. Seated in the bar area is a great start to the evening. Drink and food menus given and you are left to relax and peruse them, without any rushing. The choice of food and drinks is superb. The food was quite simply exceptional, my Ribeye was the best I’ve had, the pasta was also not only absolutely delicious, but full of ingredients and a whole plate full; so many pasta dishes these days are a small amount in the middle of the plate. A gorgeous bottle of red with the meal, followed by gorgeous sweets .. Thank you to all the staff. Beautiful decor, intimate and relaxing.

Lovely hotel, definitely stay here if you're in Southampton, the rooms are amazing. My only complaint about the rooms is that I couldn't turn the radiators off, the weather had taken an odd turn and was quite warm outside which meant the room was really hot! Breakfast is delicious too, but please add like a bacon sandwich to the menu, I got some strange looks ordering some toast and bacon so I could make my own.

Really beautiful ambience, 5 star hospitality. We ate here for dinner and the polish front of house manager was exceptional. He knew some great recommendations on the wine, he reserved us a beautiful room and all of the staff were so attentive but not over bearing. We were so impressed by this lovely place we will definitely be back, especially as the beds were so comfortable and the service wonderful. Thank you also to the lovely young lady at breakfast!! She was delightful 😀

When we arrived at Ennio's, we were immediately hosted by a lovely and smiling man. This was the beginning of an amazing experience. The staff was friendly, the standards were high (recommendations, willingness, food quality and service). I would thoroughly recommend 👌 😊

Food was incredible, as always. Service was a bit pushy (constantly filling glasses, trying to upsell to everyone when ordering, not leaving us in peace etc) and there was some rivalry/hostility between the staff which was on show for everyone and would be better dealt with out of ears of customers. Almost everything we ordered was brilliant and perfectly cooked. Decor is a bit dated but kind of adds to it's charm.

Review for restaurant not hotel - the food was outstanding, the wine selection was great and the staff absolutely made it. Special mention has to go to Layton who was full of character. Cannot recommend this place enough, will definitely be back! Three courses plus wine for 2 people was ~£100, well worth it.

Proper Italian restaurant. Very friendly, helpful staff. Food was very tasty. Price reflected the quality of the food. There were 4 birthday parties going on there Friday night. Staff sang happy birthday to them all! Great place for a treat! Nice atmosphere. Although quite discreet from the outside. Didn't use the hotel above.Would definitely go back there one day.

What about the food, I hear you ask? This is a good Resto serving classic Italian with style and modernity. One of those once a year steaks cooked rare and some ravioli that makes you rethink your career. So satisfying. Good wine list also. And no, I did not stay the night!

Only ate so cannot comment on the hotel. Restaurant staff were friendly, chatty and helpful. Food was excellent. Restaurant was clean and well presented. Drinks were on the expensive side IMHO (£11 for small glass of prosecco from a bottle already opened).

Boutique rooms were lovely, plenty of room and facilities. Breakfast and evening meal were excellent quality and standard with service to match. Location of hotel is easy to find and convenient for cruise & ferry port.

My friends and I visited Ennios restaurant on Tuesday and were delighted with the food, customer service and welcome. We all had different main courses and everyone was pleased with the quality of all the dishes. The attention to detail and lovely surroundings contributed to a lovely evening. Thankyou to all the staff!

Really like this place, very old school in a most excellent way. Brilliant but non intrusive service, food was really good and it's a nice place. I'll visit again. Didn't stay, just dinner.

Tortelloni pasta were delicious. Staff were very friendly. We asked for a tiny cup cake for our friends bday and they very kindly came up with it in minutes. However in the end one we were abruptly dismissed by one of the waiters after we asked to clarify something that he forgot to put in a take away box for us. We asked him to do so when he came to collect our plates at the end of the meal. He said he forgot and they had thrown it away already and since the kitchen was closed, it wasn't possible to have it back. We were all shocked by that poor behaviour considering we had a nice night. The way he dismissed us just because we had already paid was incredibly poor. We paid the full 25 pounds discretionary tip too so we were hoping for a bit more of compassion.

One of the best Italian meals I've ever had! The service at Ennio's was impeccable. I ordered the lasagna al forno, which was perfect. We didn't realize it while we were there, but we stayed for almost four hours enjoying the food, atmosphere, and service.

Great location by the Red Funnel ferry service. Be careful to avoid checking in late as there is no night service and this cost me and extra £40. The room was very hot when I arrived and the air-condition was very noisy and made groaning sounds. This coupled with the noise from the road below my room made sleeping difficult. The advertisement says noise isolation but it really is not effective as lots of lorries use the road to queue for the ferry to the isle of wight. The team was accommodating and friendly on arrival and the room was clean and comfortable. Thick feather duvets not needed when the room is so hot. All in all not a great experience when the basics of good night's sleep is not met.

Fabulous place. More restaurant with rooms than hotel. Rooms are comfortable, large and very nicely furnished. Great shower, comfy bed. Superb breakfast with the best coffee I've ever been served in a hotel. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Food in the restaurant is excellent. It's not the cheapest but it's definitely worth it.

Excellent scallops, fish and bruschetta. We were less keen on the burrata which was a bit dominated by the grilled peaches and £15 for just 3 oysters! That said, all other prices reflected the quality of the food. There was a relaxed but formal atmosphere and all the staff were attentive and friendly. Would visit again.

Just had the best dining experience in years. Fantastic service and ambiance. But more importantly, exquisite food. Both in terms of flavour and presentation. Not easy when catering for a large table. Thanks to all at Ennio’s.

A real gem ! The breakfast was absolutely superb! Comfortable bed and decent size shower . The window where the bed is was triple glazed so although we were opposite Red Funnel Ferry and a road by the side .. it did not disturb our sleep. Highly recommend this place if you are in Southampton. We will certainly return when my husband decides to book a cruise !!

We visited here tonight for my birthday & had the most amazing meal!! The food was absolutely delicious & probably the best meal I have ever had. The staff were friendly & so professional, the restaurant was spotless & we definitely had a 5* experience. I would definitely recommend a visit & we will be back for another meal when we visit Southampton again.

We stayed here in the boutique rooms 9 years ago to the day for our wedding night before flying away for our honeymoon and this year decided to visit again for a meal.. amazing.. such a lovely place with polite attentive staff who will do anything for you and simply want you to enjoy your evening. The food came out and was beautifully presented as if we were watching masterchef! It was delicious and did not disappoint in the slightest. We will see you next year for our 10th Anniversary and will be staying as well. Thankyou for a wonderful night all of you.

Always great service with the very friendly Italian staff. Always greet you like an old friend. The food is superb and served promptly without rushing.. It's always busy in the restaurant so I advice booking a table.

I booked a room at this hotel last weekend while on the move as I was to be very late arriving into Southampton. No where during the booking process did it clearly and obviously show that there was a last arrival time at the hotel, nor that there would be a charge for a late arrival (After 8pm) The hotel phoned to find out where I was but after agreeing that I wouldn't be there in time, and that the reservation should be cancelled, I was still charged. Very disappointed.

Feel like I must have been to a different restaurant than all these other reviews. Service was good, but we were sat in a passage way to the kitchen amongst three big groups and it was very loud. There were plenty of other empty tables in less cramped and loud areas. Food was okay. For the prices, I would have expected home made or at least fresh pasta. As it was it was fairly standard.

AVOID. Very RUDE Staff. I booked a table on Monday for Saturday night, the telephone handler a male receptionist told me the restaurant was fully booked at 8pm but I could come for 9.30pm to have a meal. Had friend down from Devon. walked in to be told kitchen closes at 9pm, they wouldn't seat me. My name and number wasnt in the book which the receptionist took from me over the phone. I asked for a email confirmation at time of booking which I didn't get. They were rude and borderline abusive when it wasn't called for. Asked to speak to a manager but was told no one was available. worst experience at a restaurant ever and I eat out alot. Bella Italia or zizzi has far better customer service then this place.

An amazing evening and dinner. A restaurant with a charming and classic feel. The staff were incredibly friendly, had a good sense of humour and all waiting staff were there to make sure you weren't waiting and were enjoying your meal. The food was incredible, one of the best we've had in a long time. Would definitely recommend!
