this
place
to
anybody
seeking
patient-centered
care
with
the
unique
medical
experience
of
being
listened
to
and
receiving
collaborative
care,
with
nuanced,
clear
explanations
from
the
providers.
I
never
once
felt
rushed
in
any
appointments,
I
had
all
my
(many!)
questions
answered
with
non-judgement,
and
got
to
know
various
providers
so
I
was
sure
to
have
a
familiar
face
when
in
labor
and
delivery.
I
appreciate
that
I
was
not
followed
by
one
midwife
only,
as
that
model
often
leads
to
burnout,
which
leads
to
worse
care
overall.
All
of
the
midwives
I
met
with
seemed
to
love
their
job
and
were
extremely
competent
at
their
profession.
For
labor
&
delivery,
they
work
with
a
healthy
mix
of
midwifery
and
OBs
to
help
make
the
most
informed
and
supportive
decisions.
Their
ultimate
focus
is
what
YOU
want
and
providing
as
close
to
that
as
what
is
safe
for
you
and
the
baby.
I
had
severe
preeclampsia
that
was
caught
early
and
I
was
induced.
I
was
quite
sick,
yet
the
doctors
and
midwives
continued
to
ensure
I
was
well
informed
and
*empowered*
to
make
any
decisions
I
could
throughout
the
process.
In
most
hospital
settings,
I
would
have
likely
had
no
choice
but
a
caesarean.
In
this
hospital,
I
was
able
to
deliver
vaginally,
like
I
had
wanted.
I
was
admitted
in
the
hospital
for
5
days,
and
each
and
every
nurse
and
midwife
I
worked
with
was
expert
at
their
job
and
gave
wonderful,
thoughtful
care.
My
baby
and
I
are
happy
and
healthy
as
a
result
of
their
incredible,
timely,
serious
work.
