Martial Masters Academy

Boxing gym

👍👍 Cool place. It's the first fighting gym that I trained at, and I had no problem getting integrated. If you're new, they work you out alone first until you feel comfortable being integrated into the main class. With my schedule I couldn't attend every class, but I never had a problem or felt uncomfor... People often mention coaches, classes, boxing, class, great, Muay, Thai, people, time, recommend,

An absolutely phenomenal gym! All of the coaches are not only kind, fun, awesome people but also incredibly good at what they do. They care about every member of the gym, and want to help everyone reach their goals (anywhere from general fitness to competing professionally). Personally, I work a crazy schedule so it’s nice having people that motivate me and excite me to go to the gym when I do have little areas of free time. The gym has a welcoming community feel-if you were thinking about testing it out, stop thinking, go in for a class, and thank me later 👍🏻

Been learning from coach EV for the past 9 months now and I’ve honestly been in the best shape of my life because of his boxing classes. I’ve learned so much from him in this short amount of time and will only keep improving. His classes are fun, never boring or repetitive. He always has new fun training classes and will work with you to improve your overall skills in boxing. The people in the gym are also great. We all push one another which creates a wonderful environment! I highly recommend this gym to anyone who is trying to learn how to box, fight, or just be in great shape.

I took a couple classes with my daughter who is 13 because she wanted to start boxing. We both had such a good experience I signed her up after the first class. We felt so comfortable with the coaches and atmosphere. They really took their time with us as we had no boxing experience. I would highly recommend martial masters to anyone interested in getting started with boxing or if you’re looking for a place to train that has a great environment Lorne

Cool place. It's the first fighting gym that I trained at, and I had no problem getting integrated. If you're new, they work you out alone first until you feel comfortable being integrated into the main class. With my schedule I couldn't attend every class, but I never had a problem or felt uncomfortable asking the coaches for explanations about the stuff that I missed. They have several classes throughout the day, and depending on where you're at physically and skills-wise, you can attend one or several of the classes. There's enough people in the class where you can be paired with people closer to your own skill level, so it's not like a total beginner gets paired with an amateur fighter type person.

I am not a member of this gym, in fact I train elsewhere and being my fighters here to cross train once in a while. Coach eevie is genuine, knowledgeable, and no nonsense. I've been involved in martial arts for 15 years and this is the only gym I'd recommend on the west side. His team is approachable, friendly and respectful and their technique is impeccable.

I have been boxing for 4 1/2 years, last 2 years with Evi and my technique, speed and power has increased multiple fold. Because of him, I'm sharper, more focused, able to dodge shots more reactively, and smoother in my punches. He's able to decipher down movement analysis and hone in on where you need to be better and this is why he is the best boxing coach in Portland. You simply can't be lazy or sloppy around him. If you're looking for a good workout, and looking to have fun with boxing in a positive social atmosphere, but also want to get better in the sport, this is the gym you should join.

I’ve been training here for a little over a year and this place is like my second home and the people there have become family. Whether you’re looking to compete, test your limits, or just get a great work out in, this is the place to go. Before signing for a membership you get a few free classes to try out and have many options such as Muay Thai, BJJ, Boxing, and boot camp. The coaches train and take care of you (body work, nutrition, etc) as if you’re a professional fighter, especially if you’re looking to compete. They are also very knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about what they teach. I would highly recommend this gym.

    - I've been going here for more than a month and every day is unique at this gym, coaches don't repeat the same thing almost ever - friendly banter at the gym is quite common, coach has a super friendly dog who likes pets - no matter the class size, coaches will give their best in each class

Love this gym so much ! All of the coaches are super friendly and helpful. I love that there’s different classes you can take like, Muay Thai , BJJ , boxing or even join in on a boot camp class . Also you don’t even have to be a fighter . There’s people of all levels in each class . Would HIGHLY recommend this gym !

Love this gym! All the coaches are friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell they are passionate about what they do. I was completely new to martial arts when I started coming here. I never once felt intimidated or as if I didn't belong. The coaches and the other members are so helpful and encouraging. They really take the time to help you with your technique and they know how do it in a way that doesn't overwhelm you.

Going to Martial Masters Academy has been one of the best choices I've made in a long time. The coaches are great and the classes are loads of fun. I can't suggest giving it a try enough.

Martial Masters is great for group and private lessons for boxing, especially if you are looking for a friendly community and a local business not part of a big gym corporation with crazy contracts. All body types are accepted and there is no pressure to go beyond what your fitness goals are. There are also different types of classes if you are not interested in boxing. I have been working out privately for years with Becca and she is kind and very accommodating to how I feel that day physically. If you are immunocompromised they are willing to work with you and your needs if you are concerned about covid. For example, if you purchase the private package you may be able to work out privately when few to no people are there depending on the time of day. She even offers great online classes to get you moving!

I took Muay Thai classes at Martial Masters for a few months and loved it! I come from a family of Muay Thai fighters/trainers so I have been looking for a gym on the west side that trains authentic Muay Thai and has respect for the art. This gym is just that! All of the the coaches are fun, passionate, and knowledgeable. They also take the time to meet students where they are at but still challenge them. I would 100% recommend this gym.

I’ve been training at this gym for 2 years now. They are very professional and highly skilled. They accommodate to your skill level and take you from amateur to fight ready level. I improved my overall skill set, strength, conditioning and confidence. Started with just one class a week and now I go there every day. Coaches are very patient and take their time to teach you the right techniques. They offer multiple classes like boot camp, boxing, Muay Thai, Jiu-jitsu. Whether you like to have a consistent gym routine or want to learn martial arts this this the place to go in all of Hillsboro/Portland area.

I've been training with Martial Masters Academy for almost two years now, and in varying styles of martial arts for over ten years, and this group is something special. The coaches here are hardworking, passionate, and dedicated not only about teaching but about training as well. They love what they do, and it shows in how they interact with students. It's a very welcoming, diverse school. There's a great sense of community and fun, but the students all train hard and are not there to just mess around. The coaches' expertise at Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, and Fitness are top notch, and they are constantly working to improve themselves and their programs. I highly recommend Martial Masters Academy, whether you're looking to learn a martial art, or to improve your fitness and confidence, or just for a fun physical activity and a good group of people to be around. Go on in and try out a class!

This was my first experience training martial arts (Muay Thai) and the coaches have developed an extremely welcoming environment. The classes are challenging and push you to become more disciplined with you technique. Everyone is super friendly and has a passion for constantly improving. Whatever skill level you are this is an awesome gym.
