Our first time at El Cortijo and it won't be our last. The traditional tapas are on a different level with flavour and originality. Great service with a warm welcome. Standout dishes = Prawn pil pil croquettes, prawn pancakes and secreto iberico

Excellent paella! They also have a vegetarian option. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for an authentic paella. Waiters are friendly and speak English. You can pay per card. Make sure to reserve a table if you want to sit outdoor. There are also seatings indoor.

Looking at the rating of this restaurant we had higher expectations than previous restaurants we went to. As we went there on a Saturday we had to book the previous day. It typically gets busy on weekends. The waiters were very nice and very honest. We were going to go for one starter each and the paella with Iberian pork and we were told that unless we were really hungry it would probably be too much. The waiter was very right, we went for one starter to share, the mussels with a provencal sauce, and the paella and it was plenty. The mussels' sauce was good (tomato, wine, herbs) but was a bit too salty. The biggest problem with the mussels was that they were definitely not clean enough. They still had far too much "barb"/seaweed attached to them. The paella with Iberian pork came with asparagus, peppers, and mushrooms. It sounded good but the paella was a bit too dry and definitely far too salty. We ended up eating the meat and leaving all the rice apart. The paella came in a proper paellera that served two plates each.. so good quantity. The wine was good. Location, in the old town, is great. Pity that they over salted the dishes.

Really great place. We were in the restaurant next to it and while waiting, I checked the menu and the prices of this restaurant and moved whole family to El Cortijo. Best choice! Great people. Tasty paella and very calming playlist. Nice place. Really recomend it.

Great new addition to Estepona’s restaurant scene! They specialize in meat dishes, but they offer a whole lot more. It’s the perfect place to share a few dishes between everyone and try loads of flavors!

Booked last minute for a Saturday lunch, 6 people in total! When we arrived we were seated by the door...here we go....but no! The whole experience was GREAT, amazing service and excellent food. We had the black rice, vegetable rice and meat rice, everything simply delightful. I will defo be back next we are in Estepona.

We should definitely eat in Estepona more. It has become the go-to place south of Malaga in our opinion. This restaurant is nestled in one of the picturesque streets in the east of the town. Very friendly but not imposing staff, nice atmosphere and great food and wine. My wife’s grilled sole was the best she has ever had and I take back my statement that I have never had really good mussels in Spain, they were delicious! My grilled chicken was also very flavoursome. Ice cold cerveza and chilled rose completed the experience. Thoroughly recommended.

Best food experience we’ve had in Estepona. Staff were fantastic, the lady that took our order was really helpful and her recommendation of the black rice with squid and prawns was amazing; If you come here try it, you’ll love it. The staff were the best we’ve experienced all week! Highly recommend visiting here!

Delicious food, beautiful place and great location Very nice restaurant & staff. While walking through the streets of Estepona, you will definitely come across (or type it into google maps) this cozy restaurant. El Cortijo has a very elegant interior, at the same time they have a beautiful front garden with spacious tables for the whole family (of course also for couples that are in love :). Staff & location • friendly, nice staff • perfect location (Just a few minutes by walk to the beach) • very nice and clean interior Food • we ordered Iberian Pork Paella, grilled sea bass, mussels in sauce, chorizo and for kids chicken breaded with chips. • everything was really delicious, we enjoyed the meal very much!

Had wonderful service and food there tonight. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive, making sure we were happy with everything.

Good anchovies in vinegar. Tasty burger. But lamb shoulder was with its distinct lamb fat smell and taste, even though fall of the bone soft and tender. They also bring you bread and charge 1,5eur/person for that, even though we said we don't want it, it was still included in the bill.

Fantastic food and brilliant service. The lamb shoulder was amazing and the shared starters were fantastic. Will definitely be going again on our next trip to Estepona.

A nice restaurant in a quiet street in the Old Town. I had higher hopes for the food. The portions where quite big, with a lot of potatoes and the vegetables reminded me of a mix bag you can get in freezer at the supermarket. One at my table ordered the vegan burger, and said it was really good, so maybe just stay clear of the seafood as I ordered.

Situated at the very heart of Estepona this restaurant offers an excellent balance of meat and fish cuisine. The service is very professional. Highly recommended 👌

Very very good Spanish dishes, special wines and even more special staff: they explain everything and really make you experience the food and wines by telling about them. We had a great evening and very much recommend this restaurant!

Unfortunately it didn’t work for me despite the best efforts of my other half. Starter was Tortillitas … fine no problem there. She loved her lamb cutlets. My sole was very poor, didn’t feel fresh at all, potatoes floating in oil … sorry not for me. Good service, wine was fine … but this was an expensive meal for two that didn’t work.

What a wonderful experience! It isn't the cheapest, but definitely worth it. Great service and delicious food. Vegetarian paella was sooo good, perfectly seasoned and full of veggies.

Great place! The fried aubergines were a great start. We had the burger which was cooked to perfection. The beef tenderloin was delicious. Would definitely recommend it.

Great staff , service minded and knowledgeable on their products . very tasty fresh food and a nice selection of wine. The prices are not the cheapest for the area but the quality of their products and service can defiantly justify it. We had a great time

AMAZING! One of the best seafood places in Estepona. Had the octopus, shrimp pil pil, aubergines, sea bass grilled, and tuna tartare. So delicious. Definitely a repeat place. Nice quiet street and ambiance was just perfect. Great staff and service.

Fantastic restaurant, not too large. Very good service. Everything is fresh. Best quality preparation of food. Good selection of wine. The best thing is the dessert (postres) which is a lemon cream, quite sweet but fantastic flavor. This is an absolute must-try in Estepona. Unfortunately you need to book there alsways very much in advance

Cant wait to return. Sunday lunch on the terrace in February. The house red is a nice Duero Crianza and the food excellent with generous portions. Throw in some good company with old friends and its the perfect lazy Sunday afternoon. The owner is very nice and helpful, as were his staff. It deserves its high ratings. Every dish looked superb but the Tiger mussels that my friend chose will be our first choice next time.

Incredible quality of the products, the staff was great and everything was really tasty. The owner explain every dish, recommend his favourites and guide us on what to see around. In my opinion best place in town.

First class food at a reasonable price. By far the best restaurant on our travels in Estepona. Can recommend 110% to others. Menu so good, more than one visit is required to sample all! Fantastic all round service......will be back.

We went here because of the high score, but unfortunately we didn't find the dishes deserved this score. People working there were very kind and that's the reason I give 2 stars and not 1. We ordered 5 plates and only the anchovies deserved a 6/10. If you read my comment and want a better place to go, just look at the other restaurants I reviewed recently.

Fantastic food and atmosphere in the old town. Very friendly staff. We had the Iberico Pork Paella to share which we loved. It’s hard to find a meat one and one of us doesn’t eat seafood so we were very pleased to find this. The prawn pil pil was also very good.
