This place is fantastic! Let me start by saying - Kathy (the server from Ireland) brings so much charm and love to this location. She was so sweet, made sure to take such good care of us, gave us suggestions for what to do around the town, and just gave us attention that most people would not spend the time doing. Her service and caring is what differentiates this place from others. The food was also delicious and extremely reasonably priced. We got (way too much food, but we hadn't eaten indian food in 2 weeks) the spicy garlic chicken, daal makhani, and matar paneer. We also got the homemade mango lassi and 2 glasses of wine, papad, and the garlic naan. Everything was super flavorful and fresh. The naan had a nice crisp, the mango lassi was sweet but not made from canned mango juice, I asked for the garlic chicken with a little extra sauce and it was delicious, the matar paneer was super soft, and the daal makhani was creamy but light. They really know what they are doing here, Kathy is a sweetheart and makes all the difference. Come here, you won't regret it!

The best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been too … the service was exceptional. Our waitress was a lovely lady from Northern Ireland (didn’t get her name). Had the chicken jalfrezi for mains which was 10 out 10. (Forgot to take a picture!) Up there with overall best restaurant experiences.

The quality of the food and service in this restaurant is outstanding. The wine list is great and all reasonably priced. We have eaten in some great Indian restaurants, but this is by far the highest quality meal we've had.

Beautiful food and so very welcoming and friendly. Excellent food that was super tasty. Ordered the phal and was told if I wanted more heat then they would ramp up the spices as much as I wanted. Definitely worth a visit. We were all inclusive a short walk away and was glad we visited. You won’t be disappointed πŸ‘

We found Maurya through Google reviews as we don’t know the area and we were not disappointed. The food was some of the best India we’ve had and all served by Kathy who is very friendly and made our experience so much nicer for it. We would definitely recommend and if we’re ever back this way Maurya will be on the list of places to visit again.

Excellent meal! Lots of vegetarian options. Loved the Veg samosa, cheese garlic Naan, saag bhaji, shahi paneer, and Bombay potatoes. A few outdoor tables. Easy walk from Sol Atalaya Park. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

First of all: 100% recommendation!!! We ended up at Maurya by chance. Extremely nice and polite service from Pankaj. Among other things, he guided us through the menu as we were very undecided. In the end, we followed his recommendation, which was an absolute delight. If we are in the area again, we will be very happy to come back. Thank you very much!

We ate here on 25th September. There was one other couple already eating when we arrive otherwise the place was empty. People are missing out on this hidden gem. The service from the waiter was impeccable. He was attentive without being overbearing. He brought courses when we were ready, not when they wanted to give it to us. A very pleasant young man. The food was excellent. Tasty and cooked really well. The meat, in our case chicken and lamb, was very tender. Good sized portions that were ideal with the accompanying Kashmiri rice and naan. If you are a fan of India food, do yourself a favour and visit Maurya... you will not be disappointed.

Great food and fantastic service. We were in a party of 8 and amongst them are some curry connoisseurs who said that it’s definitely amongst the best they’ve had, so much so that we visited every night of our 5 night stay. We were welcomed warmly by Kathy and the proprietors and there was no rush for us to finish our meals. One evening we celebrated my brothers birthday until 2am. If you’re looking for an Indian restaurant in Estepona you won’t do any better for quality and service.

This is a must. Its a go at least twice kinda place. We didnt know what to expect but once inside, we realised its a family run business who all take pride in there work from the Chef to the front of staff. I cant speak highly enough about there hospitality. Give us shortcut direction too on the way out.

Having come from probably one of the best Indian communities of the UK ( Leicester ) I must say that the food was exceptional. The service provided by Kathy ( I'm sure that's right ) was 1st class and she gave us some great advice of surrounding areas for relaxing. All in all a great experience. Well worth the visit. Many thanks

Visited a few times during a recent trip as the food was up there with the best Indian both me and the rest of my party have had. Took a little time to arrive as everything cooked from scratch but this was clearly explained when we sat down.

I have eaten in hundreds of Indian Restaurants. Maurya Indian cuisine simply the best I have ever had. I think for me it was that you could taste every spice and ingredient. The Kashmiri rice was amazing and the Peshwari Naan to die for❀️ Plus great service with a one to one chat with the Chef thrown in πŸ‘

Amazing authentic freshly made Indian food. We had an amazing meal here, the service was outstanding, the lady at front of house (Cathy) was so friendly and kind, always making sure we had everything we needed and guiding us through the menu. The food is some of the best Indian food we have ever eaten, the flavours are so rich and authentic. The portions were perfect sized so there was no waste and we didn't feel overfed (as often is the case!) We will definitely be back and would recommend Maurya to anyone! Thanks so much

Love this Indian restaurant close to the marriott playa andalusia. Great food, wonderful service from Kate, who was full of information and suggestions for the area. Quite new restaurant, very clean, nice atmosphere, obviously a good chef in the kitchen, because of the quality of the food. I will be going back before we leave the marriott.

I was very disappointed with this meal. To quote my wife "we could have eaten better at home". I had the Tandoori Chicken. The King Prawn was burned. I guess it was grilled on a stick however the actual prawn meat was missing. The tail bit I got did not look like something anyone would eat and the rest was burned (see pic). Apart from a very small piece of OK fish, the rest of the dish was three kinds of chicken plus some chicken nuggets. I prefer chicken that tastes fresh. I cannot say how old this chicken was but it was old enough to not be appealing. In previous years we have been very happy with the Indian food at other Indian restaurants. Unfortunately not this time.

Great dining experience! Exquisite treatment. Excellent recommendations from Cathy, both in quality and quantity. Delicious cheesecake and baileys cream. I will have to go back to taste other Indian and Irish specialities. Thank you so much for everything. See you! Diego

A bit out of the way, but the food was fantastic. Sadly, the waitress didn't speak any Spanish and there was a little confusion. Fortunately, the son arrived and the situation was resolved. We had a fantastic lunch. I ordered the chicken handi and my fault I didn't ask for " not too hot" and when it came it was piping hot and spicy powerful. Fortunately, I could tone it down with spoonfuls of the wife's korma. It the kind of food that's physically too hot when it arrives but you just have to have a bit more. The naan bread was also delicious. Portions are large, so there's no space for desert. We will be back.

Yesterday we went here to try something else. Our favorite Indian restaurant is on the other side of the road. We liked the atmosphere. Modern Indian music, which was quite enjoyable. But with some some songs, the sound was almost unbearable. It was very distorted, probably because of a blown up speaker. We were brought to our table by a girl wearing her jogging outfit. This is not what you expect in a decent restaurant. The papadum is not offered for free like in most restaurants. I don't care much about that, but I do care it was a bit scanty, only 3. We liked the sauses more in our favorite Indian restaurant, but the mango chutney was nice. The menu is far more limited than the competition menu. Thatvis not necessarily a problem. Quality is more important than quantity. And there things went a little bit wrong. The onion bahji was okay, but the competition does a better job. My girlfriend ordered a dish with spinach and potatoes, which was just okay, I ordered the only dish with fish. I liked it a lot. It was cleverly prepared. The sizzling plate consisted of delicate tender fish on top of seasoned (tandoori) vegetables, mainly onions. The garlic nan could be better and lagged garlic. For dessert we had, Gulab Jamun, was nice, but it came without ice cream. Only because of the fish, we will probably go back one day. The Indian restaurant on the other side of the road is better, not only because they offer better food, but also because the personal is better; correcter and more friendly. They definitely will remain our first choice.

I dont like Indian food, or so I thought! It was delicious!!, probably it was adapted to the Spanish taste, less spicy, but full of flavor. Highly recommended

The food is excellent and the service is fantastic. The owner will guide you through the menu and make great recommendations from what you tell him, never trying to get you to order more than what you want. He makes you feel at home. Honestly, you will want to go back. I did.
