We took the Dolphin and Sunset tour. It was an absolutely wonderful evening. Captain Chris and Fist Mate Michelle were terrific. We not only saw dolphins, it was like we played with them. Also saw a bald eagle and the sunset was amazing. Highly recommend this tour!

My family had a wonderful adventure this afternoon with Captain Ken and Andrew. Andrew was so knowledgeable about the sea animals and so encouraging to all the kids bringing in their catches. We’ll done! I highly recommend this excursion for all ages. The dolphins swimming alongside the boat was an added bonus! Thank you!

This was a great evening cruise. captain Chris and First Mate Matt were fun and made sure we got to see dolphins 🐬 as well as an amazing sunset. We were able to make reservations only the day before and it was affordable. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience on the Beach Escape cruise with Captain Chris and First Mate / Cabana Boy Matt! The shelling on Cayo Costa was incredible, and the beach was so natural and pristine. Absolutely gorgeous! The umbrellas and chairs they provided were nice and were set up quickly. We just had to pack a beach bag and snacks and off we went! We saw lots of dolphins on our excursions. Chris and Matt were great about spotting them and slowing down for us to get a good look. Appreciated how knowledgeable and environmentally conscious they are too. We’ll definitely make this a regular excursion when we’re in the area!

An amazing sunset and dolphin experience, with Captain Evan and First Mate Michelle, both very patient with our questions and extremely knowledgeable of the area and the wildlife. It was almost as if they paid the sun, moon and dolphins to cooperate! Thanks for a great anniversary evening

The staff was amazing, the trip was perfect. They pointed out all the see life and we're very informative. I gave three stars and not four. Because I love to shell and there weren't many to find where we were. The water was clear the beach was pristine, but again nothing but clam shells. I even snorkeled and couldn't find any shells except clams! I do recommend it as a great day out with family but not for the shelling, we booked a lunch and shelling tour. I expected more in that. The boat was clean and safe, it had a bathroom, and was shaded from the sun they provided water, and answered many questions. The lunch spot was clean and very fast, and they even had an ice cream shop above! Again I truly recommend it but not for the serious sheller.

Took the family on a vacation ending sunset cruise to look for dolphins. What a great treat it was! Hannah and Capt Ken were the best. So knowledgeable about the ecosystem and environment. Saw quite a few dolphin and other wildlife. Definitely a must in the Ft Myers area.

My wife & I took the afternoon dolphin cruise . We had a great time & saw a bunch of dolphins. Also learn a few things as well. It was well worth it to us. Also got a great video of a pod of dolphins swimming in a boats wake , it was unable to post

This cruise was fantastic. My wife and I had a great time. Ken was a professional captain. His first mate Matt was very helpful and knowledgeable about the surroundings. He pointed out birds, dolphins, specific plants and habitats. He was a real workhorse when we were at the shelling island. Ken and Matt are a great combination. They have a outstanding people skills and made the cruise fun and enjoyable!

You can tell the dolphins know this boat- they were so fun and sociable! The crew knew so much about the area and the dolphin behavior, and shared enough fun facts to entertain the kids without boring them. The tour was the perfect length of time for my kids (ages 2, 7, 11). A lot of the boat has shade, and the views were just beautiful. We would definitely do this again.

We enjoyed out time on a sunset and dolphin cruise. The Captain Terri and Victoria were friendly and informative. They offered free soft drinks/water. There is a small head. My only critique is our cruise consisted of mostly adults vs younger crowd.

Went on the sunset dolphin cruise Monday night. Andrew and Terri were amazing hosts. They were friendly but not obnoxious. The cruise itself was awesome! Saw several dolphins and other wildlife as well. Andrew did a great job of spotting them and Terri did a great job of navigating the boat as close as possible. Andrew was full of interesting information about both the land/area and the animals. And then...THE SUNSET! As a Florida native, I have seen some breathtaking beach views. But this...was just inspiring! I highly recommend this activity! Can't wait to come back and try the afternoon excursion.

Captain Paul and Andrew were awesome on our Backwater Fishing Tour today! If you are ever down in SWFLA, Adventures in Paradise should be on your " To-Do" list!

  • 5/5 Clyde H. 3 years ago on Google
Captain Jim and 1st mate Andrew were awesome. Both were very helpful and were genuinely nice people. They were eager to share their knowledge about the local flora and fauna and even went out of their way to give us dolphin time. Andrew was super friendly. He made sure everyone was comfortable and hydrated. He even interacted with our three kids, making them feel like true shell hunters. Jim got us there safely and from time to time he would point out specific sights to see. Now for the nuts and bolts part of the review. There is plenty of spacious parking. We arrived early and were able to start boarding about 30 minutes before departure. You seat yourself wherever you would like. There is more than enough room on this boat. We brought a lot of stuff. A big cooler, toys, 2 bags and towels. All was accommodated with no problems. They is a roof on 2/3's of the boat, so finding cover or sun is easy. I do recommend bring a long sleeve t-shirt because the morning commute to the island is chilly if you don't like cool wind from riding the boat through morning air. I was fine in a tank top, but the kiddos got a little chilly. The ride is about 45ish minutes long. When you get to the island, they let you out on the gulf side, but park the boat on the other side. That is because the current is so strong on the gulf side. I would say, unless you walk further down the beach, it is nearly impossible to swim. It is even difficult to walk in the water. That is how strong the current is on the gulf side. It's not very kid friendly. The bay side or the eastern side of the island is very family friendly. The water is crystal clear and there isn't a current. The shell hunting is pristine. You will see dolphins and fish on this side. I recommend walking over to this side. It is definitely worth it. As for the beach, it is beautiful. The only issue at time if you're too close to the woods are the noseeums. They are there, so heads up. Find a spot with a slight breeze and you'll be fine. They guides will walk the beach making sure ppl have everything they need. They do provide a limited amount of drinks, chairs, and umbrellas. They will even give you a 30 minute warning before island departure. They will tell you where to go. The ride back is when they go looking for dolphins and they will find them. They are everywhere. It is such a cool and relaxing ride. When you arrive, if it's warm enough, there is a possibility to see manatees in the marina. We saw them, but don't expect it. Lastly, they have a bathroom at the marina and one on the boat. It shouldn't be an issue. Please tip these guys. They do a good job and deserve it. Perfect tour to Cayo Costa. Wish it was an hour longer. We got extremely lucky on our trip. We had perfect weather, saw 15+ dolphins, and even manatees. Just Perfect! My family definitely recommends Adventures in Paradise. 5 out of 5 stars all thanks to Jim and Andrew. 🐠🐚⛴

Great trip to Cayo Costa! The Captain and his first mate Rob were the best! Rob was full of information about the islands we passed and the wildlife we saw. Cayo has beautiful beaches and if you walk far enough around it’s like your on your own island with no one in site. I would definitely do this again!

We loved our sunset cruise. The captain and first mate were top notch and very knowledgeable. We saw several pods of dolphins and hundreds of birds flying back to an island for the evening. And the sunset was absolutely magical. Thank you, Adventures in Paradise.

Went out to an island for shelling. They did a great job and were incredibly pleasant. People who seem to genuinely enjoy what they do. My group ranged in age from 12-50 years of age and we all had a great time. I’d highly recommended that this tour. Only thing is they should offer a cash out option at the end to add a tip onto a final billing. Most people don’t carry cash. These guys do a great job.

An amazing cruise! Benefit of this cruise is they have a captain and first mate which allows for someone to talk about the wildlife and take photos. We loved our sunset cruise, lots of space to spread out on the boat and incredible views!

What an incredible experience for the whole family! I’m convinced I could not have found a better option than Adventures in Paradise’s Sea Life Excursion if I tried. Our family comprised of me, my wife, and 3 kids (15, 4, 1.5 y/o) each came away identifying this the best part of our vacation to Captiva. This 2.5 hr tour was staffed by an amazingly friendly and accommodating crew with an actual marine biologist leading the effort by continuously educating along the way what we were seeing, how it came to be, and identifying sea life animals he instructed us to catch using provided gear at the secluded “picnic island”. On the way back to the dock, we were able to see several pods of dolphins and the crew instructed us on how to attract the dolphins attention. It clearly worked as we were absolutely blown away by the “show” the dolphins gave, allowing the young kids onboard to form an amazing lifetime memory. I cannot speak highly enough about the entire experience from start to finish. If you’re on the fence and looking for the sign, this is it. The Sea Life Excursion is a “can’t miss” and I’m certain their other offerings are simply incredible as well.

Had a wonderful sunset & dolphin cruise with our family. Everyone enjoyed their time - from our 3 year old son all the way to our 87 year old grandma. Our Captain & first mate were very kind and personable! We enjoyed the ride, music, and views. Will definitely be back again!

What a wonderful trip. The original cruise we booked had to be changed because Cayo Costa is closed but the woman who called to rebook us was so nice and she got us on another cruise the same day doing similar activities. We went to North Captiva island and spent a couple hours soaking up the sun and shelling. The captain and first mate set up chairs and umbrellas for everyone and were so sweet!! The first mate also went and collected some shells to show people and give away and was very informative and friendly. We also saw dolphins and learned about them and their habitat and behavior. I will definitely be booking again. Wonderful experience.

Great sunset tour on Valentine’s Day. We were treated to Champagne, treats, and roses. Matt and Ken were very pleasant, sharing information about the area, helping us spot dolphins and a showing us a gorgeous sunset. Highly recommend this tour.

We had a wonderful afternoon on the Dolphin & Wildlife Tour with Aventures in Paradise. Both the captain and guide were very professional and provided a fun and educational nature tour. We saw numerous pods of dolphins, along with a variety of birds and vegetation. The Port Sanibel Marina has plenty of parking with easy dock access to Adventures in Paradise tour boat. We enjoyed an excellent lunch at the Lighthouse Restaurant before our 3:30 boat tour. It truly was a perfect day!

As a last minute thing, we decided to book another shelling tour during our recent trip to FL. I wasn't expecting to find one. I left a message with Adventures in Paradise and was happy to get a call back and told that they had spots the next morning! It would be shelling on North Captiva and then lunch on Cabbage Key - which was exactly what we wanted to do (actually, we wanted to get to Cayo Costa, but it's closed to commercial boats right now). We arrived at the marina the next morning and had no issues parking. There are bathrooms at the marina, and the boat also has a head (although, I didn't use it, so I can't speak to that). There was plenty of seating on the boat - in the shade or sun. There was a huge cooler of bottled water, so we didn't have to bring any. Our captain and first mate were awesome (sorry, guys, I can't remember your names!). Along the way, they would point out things, educate us, answer questions, etc. They set up chairs and umbrellas on the beach but my son and I hiked down the beach, looking for shells and wildlife instead. We didn't have awesome luck with shelling, but we saw two small rays, two different types of crabs and many fish. After shelling, we went to Cabbage Key. We saw a manatee in the marina and got pretty close to it! Their gift shop is super cute, and we bought a few items. We had lunch at the Inn and, of course, ordered cheeseburgers. They were delicious! Things are quite expensive, but you have to understand that everything has to get brought to the island. They explain a lot of this on the placemats. We ate in the dollar bar and added our dollar. Anyway, after this, we went looking for dolphins on our way back to the marina - which was an unexpected bonus to our tour! And we found several. Overall, it was a great experience! The tour is about six hours with two hours of shelling. I would have preferred more time shelling and less as Cabbage Key as we kinda had nothing to do once we ate. It was really just too hot to go exploring much. But thanks for a great time, Adventures in Paradise!

We took the sunset cruise and saw dolphins near the boat for a long time. The boat is in fantastic condition, they have a small toilet on board as well. Free bottles of water are available and you can bring your own adult beverages but they ask not to bring glass containers. Our trip wasn’t packed with people so it was easy to move from side to side to see the wildlife. The sunset was beautiful over Pine Island. The crew were knowledgeable but not annoying with information. We will sail again with them and highly recommend this excursion.

The sunset dolphin tour was a lot of fun for our family. We’ve done the tour twice now, and both times we’ve seen tons of dolphins!

  • 5/5 Tanner D. 3 years ago on Google
The shelling and lunch cruise is a great tour! Bring sun block and bags/buckets for shells because there were thousands of shells as you walk along the beach. The water was so clear and there were many crabs and birds around! The crew provides beach chairs and umbrellas and had plenty of water and some sodas that were complementary. The boat has bench seating around the sides of the boat, hard plastic so you might prefer to bring a towel or cushion to sit on. Felt safe and not rushed, pretty casual itinerary. The restaurant situation can be tricky on the weekends.... not very much seating and a little hectic (but good drinks and food). We got to see a pod of dolphins on the way back. Awesome day!!

We had a wonderful experience on the Sea Life Encounters Excursion. The captains were extremely knowledgeable, teaching us not only about ocean critters but the ecosystem as well. The boat ride was so fun, as we had never boated on the ocean before. The island beach is beautiful and fun to explore. Our 2.5 year old had a blast!!! Highly recommend for anyone, families of all ages!

This is our 3rd boat trip with adventures in paradise. We LOVE the tour they do. Captain Jim was our captain all 3 times & he is fantastic. We did the shelling & then onto lunch cruise all 3x! It is an amazing day on water with a fantastic crew. We had a male co-captain one time & a female co-captain this time & they were both fantastic. They come around & take our picture of family for us. Offer is water bottles & carry the chairs to the beach. They are full of information & explain everything we passed by. Captain Jim is very knowledgeable and does a great job finding us dolphins everytime! I recommend this trip to everyone! Just fantastic!

We wanted to just take a quick cruise, not be gone for 3 hours. It was perfect and captain Tom and his mate ( Whose parents are from Fort Collins 😃😊) Were fun and funny. Great people to be on this boat with. Watching the dolphins play right before the Sun set was great!

This is the best tour that my wife and I do. We do this several times a year and often take visitors on the tour as well. The only problem this time that while the ticket receipt speaks of a required mask for everyone. About 1/3 of the people had masks when getting on the boat and by the end there were only 2 of us that had our masks on.

Captain Jim and First Mate Andrew were amazing. They were very knowledgeable about animals of Southwest Florida and we learned quite a bit. We were able to see many dolphins and species of birds. We were fortunate enough to have a yacht go by which allowed the dolphins some playtime and we saw them breaching at the bow of the boat. It was a great experience that we will never forget.

We went on the Lunch and Seashell excursion. This was a top notch experience from start to finish. We are so glad we did this excursion. We had captain Evan and first mate Matt. These guys were fun, polite and professional. They made the experience so enjoyable. We found lots of shells. Lunch at the Mainstay was great. We also seen several dolphins. It’s also nice because it doesn’t take the entire day. We were back by 2:30. We highly recommend this experience..

We had Captain Jim and First Mate Matt for two tours, the sunset dolphin and shelling. Both experiences were unique and absolutely fabulous! This place was one of best highlights of our trip. We were able to take our 85 year old grandmother and we will all remember this forever! The dolphin boat chases, cordial sunset with matching music, manmade bird estuary make this an evening to never forget. Very accommodating boat crew of 2 who take the time to take photos of each party onboard at mulitiple occasions. You are just as much part of the action for spotting dolphins as for them to drive to. BYOB was icing on cake with free non alc beverages on board. This is one evening cruise you won’t want to miss!

I highly recommend the Cayo Costa Beach Escape cruise!! We had an amazing time. The beach itself, surrounded by turquoise water, was breathtaking. You can’t walk without finding a shell! We shelled and walked on our own for a couple hours and then ate our picnic lunch, while relaxing on chairs under an umbrella the crew provided and set-up for us, in a spot we selected. On our ride back to shore, we spotted several dolphins along the way and the captain stopped the boat and circled around, patiently ensuring everyone had a chance to see and snap a photo. Honestly, our crew couldn’t have been any better!!! We had the pleasure of being onboard with Evan and Robert. They were pleasant, helpful and super informative. They did a fantastic job! What a day! We loved everything about it. We will definitely be going back.

On January 2nd we were there Sunset Dolphin & Wildlife Cruise on the boat. It was a beautiful boat trip, we saw dolphins, flamingos and pelicans. The crew was great, they were very helpful, gave a lot of information, they were funny and relaxed. The music matched the ride perfectly and the sunset was the perfect ending. We would book here again and again.
